I've kissed any number of people just for fun. Just because I wanted to, on many, many occasions.

While being drunk? Newp. Nor have I ever kissed anyone who was themselves intoxicated because engaging in sexualized behavior with someone who is drunk is against my moral ideology.

Plus, informed consent is extremely sexy. Mileage obviously varies.

I think the problem for me with The Tuxedo was the format. It needed more than 15 minute episodes. Mostly because the transformation in audience perception of Nawee needed more time than it got. It was very fast. Too fast. And that's why it took me until episode 6 to really love the show. Because I was struggling with the pace at which it all unfolded.

Whiplash was the word I used.

So it's not perfect. But my love for it lies in the fact that the sex had no definitive "top" or "bottom". The kisses were very emotional and just hit me with real feels. And that final ending with Aioon crying into that beautiful kiss/embrace was just something moving beyond the ability to describe it. The acting was really good. The scene and set were stunning. And for all that the whole thing only took two hours to watch, I got a complete story in terms of their development.

The only question I had at the end is why they didn't introduce the idea of the girlfriend earlier and am 100% sure that goes back to the limitation of the format. So for me it was a good example of packing a lot into a little space. But I also completely see why other folks may not love it.

Who is bashing the show based on cultural perspectives? I go absent from the boards for a few days and come back to lots of shit I missed. I mean, I brought up that I didn't generally like drunk kisses because they are non-con in my recent review. But I'm somehow doubting that has much to do with this debate. I am forced to assume some other folks made posts as well and it's the trend that OP is so hot under the collar about? Regardless, if someone wants to post on the KP pages, hot about the drunk kiss, it's their prerogative. It's what the comments section is for. Making comments.

I mentioned it in my review that in general I do NOT like drunk kisses because consent is not possible to grant. And yes, it was a simple "drunk people can't give consent" post. But either people are hot over me mentioning that or others have mentioned it too. Regardless, it's the comments section. People are allowed to bring that sort of idea up when talking about the show's themes.

This is more people complaining that they don't like the content of other peoples' posts because they don't agree with them for whatever reason. Which is silly and misses the point of the comments section.

People can post anything they feel about the show. That's what the comments section is for. MDL's page for the show isn't a fan page. It's a page geared toward people leaving feedback on the drama. And so any comments on the show's content that do not violate MDL's TOS are welcome on every page.

I run into this "I hate that so-and-so said X about the show" comment all the time. And, it's just not something anyone should take into consideration when deciding whether to post their opinion on a drama. We all need to just accept that many people see things in many different ways and there's no wrong thing to express about the show so long as our posts aren't containing attacks on others or hate speech in general.

The scene wasn't non-con because either party wasn't willing. The scene is non-con because when alcohol is involved to a certain degree, consent can't be given, even when both parties find each other attractive. And while Kinn didn't seem to have gotten particularly drunk, which makes sense, his guard is always up--Porsche was, in fact, very drunk. So drunk he nearly fell into the water. Which means he didn't meet the standard for sobriety that is implicit with consent. And it's okay for me or any other watcher of the drama to point that out.

I agree that I hope the assault is not handled with context production tones that portrays it as romantic. No sexy music, etc. It's a heinous, villainous act and should be shown in that light.

There is a difference in people commenting they dislike non-con moments in general, including the kiss at the end of episode 3 and not being aware that this drama in specific contains non-con themes quite a lot.

I think his story, such as I am aware of it, IS complex. And as such I think it's natural to feel any way about it.

For me, rape is never a forgivable act, no matter what, so even though he grows and learns to be a better human, I will never consider him "redeemed". And I will never like his character in the least. But each person who takes in the story will feel different and I think however you feel about him is perfectly valid.

Yeah, My Engineer wasn't my fav, though I've been meaning to rewatch it to see if it still felt the same way to me. I may well view it more generously now that I've watched CP.

And when I started watching FUtS, I hated it. I was slamming it left and right but Mork and Pi just had something going on and I was curious. So I stayed with it. And then suddenly the awful humor (which I hated) and the lame tropes (which just made my eyes roll) sort of came together into this fusion that was the exception to my rules about BL. And by the end I really loved it. By the end I had a lot of respect for the humor, the acting and even the way the tropes were carried out, even if I still didn't like many of those tropes.

So I do love Fish Upon the Sky and I suggest to anyone who struggled with it early on in the first couple of episodes to hang in there for a couple more. About 25% of the way through it, I suddenly fell in love.

I almost cut that sentence out because I was like "That is a bit too catty." But then I recalled the scenes in episodes 7-9 where a waxy-faced Kuea did the lip wibble after Lian threw out some parent-like condemnation and I was like "Newp. This is just right.".

Hahahahah! And Kari's brownies. You two kept distracting me from what was supposed to be plot with your sugary adventures.

It took me about an hour to write and then another hour to edit and then I sat on it for a third hour and came back afterwards to make sure I said everything I meant to. then posted it.

When the mood strikes and my mind is in the right place I can clock about 3500 words an hour. And this only came in at about 2250 words, I think.

The series isn't worth it anymore. Which is why I made this my last longform review until I make my big final one. It was a lot to express about one single episode, though.

Oh, no. I am with you on the Teddy Bear drama. best thing I've ever watched in terms of a Thai drama and I am fucking hooked. I cry every week. I added it to the end of my post in an edit. Thank you for reminding me!

Yeah, I figured I'd go out with a bang in terms of leaving longer form reviews in the comments section. Though I will say this is not my longest review ever by far.

Even so, I did my best to record the gospel of BPG. ROFL.

I added it to my watch list but it was down at the bottom. I moved it to a "watch now" issue because I am obsessed with formal wear conventions, etiquette and creation, and this show is themed around a suit and formal wear tailor.

That being said, because the eps are only 15 minutes long outside of the credits and intro, the entire watch time for the series is only around 2 hours. There are 8 episodes.

Nuea does indeed have some mystery elements to him. Though I hadn't considered that they are family life related and I kind of assumed he was initially after Kuea's money. Though by now I don't think he is at all.

Weighing in is totally cool.

But I always got the impression that Nuea's attention on Kuea was more like a creepy fascination with Kuea, rather than a really romantically liking him--and even that seemed to evaporate in due time, as he started vague macking on Syn..

And then suddenly last episode there were obvious hints of Nuea's fascination with Kuea again. So that sort of dashes the slow but steady rapport that Nuea and Syn were building with one, longing look at Kuea.

If I were Syn (after boring everyone with another Buddhist scripture verse.) I'd have told Nuea to back the fuck off until he decided who he really wanted.

But I do understand Nuea's presence is open to interpretation because they've left it so out of context for the most part.

Oh, his titties were nice. But I've seen better. I just watched The Tuxedo and Chap's titties are not to be beat this side of Max Nattapol. So... yeah. Nuea's man titties nice, but not enough to distract me from the howling void where the plot should be. LOL.
