I don't know that many people who to MDL come pay attention to the ratings. I never did, even in the beginning. I came here mainly to read cast lists and synopsis. I still pay no attention to the rating. They just don't mean anything.

I think you can rate a series at any point. I mean, I gave Cutie Pie the lowest rating I could on episode 2. The show is now almost done and it's never improved. In fact, it's gone downhill. So my assessment at episode 2 was accurate.

I wouldn't worry too much about KP ratings. It's still doing quite well.

I love Porsche. But I don't mind people hating on him. I mean, it's just an opinion.

Cutie Pie is a trash fire. But the rating system for MDL is less about the actual merits of the show and more about whether someone likes an actor, the OST, other fans of that show, or even sometimes if they feel the show is competing with one they like.

Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion. And none of them are wrong, they are just different perspectives. I don't think the ratings really matter. MDL's ratings always seem way low for shows I like, such as this one, and far too high for shows I think are trash, like Cutie Pie. So I tend to tune out the ratings.

I welcome the haters because everyone has a right to post here. So I will probably post weekly about what I love about the show (or don't) and I expect to see some voices posting that they hated the show and why. That's exactly as it should be.

I loved the second episode. Not quite as much as the first. But there could be several reasons the ratings dropped. It's not important. I mean, the MDL rating system just never seems to accurately reflect whether a show is actually any good.

Just judging from episode 1, Kinn needs more bodyguards because he's a shit stirrer and because the entire corps of the ones he had could not do what the one dude he picked up behind the bar did. Which was keep Kinn alive. They looked like idiots that night.

Hopefully everyone will keep an open mind and treat each other fairly. I really love the show so far, but I worry about how folks who post their dislike of the show will be treated. MDL is not known for sane, live and let live behaviors.

It's not a big deal. I think that as more people see it there are just a wider base of people who didn't like it. And that's alright. I never feel that MDL's rating system is an accurate reflection of a show's merits.

That being said, it might legit be people from the Cutie Pie page. A couple of them were mad that following KP's premier, Cutie Pie's rating dropped from 8.3 to 8.2. I know, whatever, right? But it honked a couple of them off that Cutie Pie's ratings dropped and they seemed to think it had to do with KinnPorsche for some reason. Could be that some of them are revenge dishing KP's ratings. But probably not.

yeah, those problems aren't rough edges, they were warning signs. And when I said fucking, I meant fucking. Whatever problems they have are already mostly swept under the rug and will never be dealt with.

And Kuea hasn't been lying about his true self. He's been hiding his musical stuff on the side, his personal private property, his love of bikes and fast cars, and his actual college degree. Those are parts of his true self, not the entirety. His true self looks exactly like the version of Kuea that Lian just recently rejected but now wants to bone suddenly. His true self is the same version Lian called a doll because the Kuea in his bed is still acting the same way as the Kuea whom he rejected. Which means that person is Kuea too. Unless Lian has suddenly developed a fetish for dolls. Apparently he has no real problem with Kuea's doll behavior, he's just been butthurt that Kuea's not kept him in the loop about the rest of it.

So those of us that found the sex scene ill timed and gross have based our reactions exactly on what the drama presents us with.

Their age difference is a prob for me. But I just am squicked by the fact that Lian basically manipulated Kuea and employed a lot of toxic behaviors and now they're fucking? Yeah, no. It just makes what happened really gross.

I think that this scene would have worked great if it were a one night stand with someone you only half knew and then hauled home from a bar to fuck randomly.

But as the next step in a supposedly serious relationship that is meant to be long term, it was tragically bad. But as I've said before, mileage may vary. For me there is so much baggage attached to them from the ridiculous mess of manipulations that led up to this point that the sex itself seemed the worst choice.

I think the toe stepping is a mishandling of the situation based on his normal modus operandi. Think about it, Porsche in his normal environment is a show boat. He's flashy and jocular. And a loner in that he relies on no one and often gets himself into and back out of trouble on the currency of his own abilities. So he's not used to having to take group dynamics into consideration or become part of that dynamic himself.

I actually feel him learning to integrate will probably be my favorite part of the story.

As for the character's age vs his actor's appearance. Yeah, Apo is, in my opinion, too old for this role. He's boss AF in the fight scenes. But he looks every one of his years and that's not helpful when playing someone as young as Porsche.

Yeah, I'm not touching the book. I think the show is going to be ride enough.
