I was agreeing with you. I totally am down for everything you said. I somehow poorly communicated that and I apologize. It's probably because the opening statement in my post was an answer to aprilwright's comment, not yours, and then I proceeded to respond to you with yes, the premise isn't the problem, it's the execution.

I've noticed that myself. Ultimately, if someone watches CP for the fanservice, the pretty boys, the face sucking, the sex scenes or even the toxic relationship dynamics--It's fine.

But I needs SOMETHING of a coherent plot to follow. Even a small plot. This one tries to have this layered plot that it utterly fails at carrying off.

Also, all critics are self proclaimed. Just like all fans are. So, OP's initial observation is kind of stating the obvious.

I found the skateboarding boring too. In fact, the whole date I was like "Dude, you didn't ask him on a date, you told him you were going on one. Autocratic much?".

As for the relative cuteness of the kisses, Lian is worse than Yi in his actions at any given time, so I didn't enjoy the cute because it always reads as manipulative. Kuea needs to do what Diao did and walk away.

However, I did get a kick out of the bird shitting on Syn. That actually made me laugh.

Ultimately the argument that "But if they didn't have this problem there wouldn't be a drama" is weak. Because it doesn't address the fact that it's perfectly possible to explore manipulation, pathological behaviors and hiding who a character really is WHILE maintaining a plot that makes sense and eventually evolves characters into better people. This one is written so badly that's not possible. But the components of tension themselves aren't the problem. The massive fail exists in how those components are handled.

According to you and everyone else, including Lian, Lian didn't love the fake version of Kuea.

That carries absolutely zero authenticity when the version of Kuea that Lian tagged and bagged in the first part of episode 8 is pretty much the exact same version. And he all over the place declared his love to that version of Kuea. The same version he pretty much told to his face that he didn't love him in episode 1. And no, Lian's ridiculous excuses made no sense. It all boils down to the fact that Lian doesn't really have a problem with Kuea's well behaved side. In fact he's been leaning heavy into it with phrases like "You get to do what you want if you behave" (ep 7). He just resents he's not in the loop.

Which is petty as fuck. But then what else is new. He's so petty with Yi I can't even call what they have a friendship.

Did they use tongue? I forgot that. There have been so many tongue kisses in Thai BL it's impossible to keep track of them all.

I don't skip scenes. At least I never have before. But man, as soon as the dialog was over on scene 1 I fast forwarded through all that shit. And the rest of the ep was...just no. The only part I hooted for was when Diao got the fuck up and just walked out. Though Nuea was cute this episode. He's... not enough to make the show enjoyable for me at all, but dayum, he's pretty.

I watched the intimate scenes and was actively creeped out. So was my watch buddy. We were like, after all the manipulation, nasty behavior and freakish levels of control, Lian said "Whoops, my bad. But hey, I love you" and suddenly it's all good? I mean, he didn't even offer the half assed, vague apology and lame excuses until Kuea pumped the breaks on the sex. So if Kuea had his brain even halfway engaged he might realize that looks a lot like Lian tossing out a quick "sorry" just gaming to get his dick wet.

And honestly, there is nothing wrong with posting a review or reaction to every episode that expressed deep dislike for any drama. Some of us, once we start a drama, watch it just so that when we leave our final review we have as complete a picture as possible. Even if we do not like that drama at all. And we are well within rights to say so.

There isn't a real point, at this juncture. This plot is abysmal.

If we stick with Thai BL's... Mew in TharnType is still the best kisser I've ever seen and he's had more than one role where he used tongue in a kiss scene. Just hands down he's the best. MaxTul did also have a couple of tongue kisses. There have been many others. Zee with Saint--the much better pairing than ZeeNew. And OffGun have had a couple of tongue kisses.

It's sometimes easier for me to recall the character's specific kisses rather than the actors. So...Saifa/Zon, and Win/Team. If I recall right there was even a tiny moment of tongue with Kongpob/Arthit in SOTUS S. Annnnndddd I think Pat/Pran had some tongue in there somewhere too. It might be just a little tongue. I need to rewatch Bad Buddy to refresh anyway. So I guess I'll know exactly the scene I'm thinking of when I hit it.

I think the tongue kiss that actually surprised me was the pool kiss with Thanu/Wayu in Gen Y 2. The show overall was very tame when it came to matters of sex, with rare exception. (Which is not something that bothers me at all. I don't watch BL for the sexy.) So I was not expecting to see Thanu lick into Wayu's mouth and for Wayu's little pink tongue to make an appearance too.

But there have been many others. Tongue kisses are just not that uncommon.

Yep. Shady as hell. His actions regarding the real estate transfer may or may not be shady in and of themselves. But the way he handles literally everything is shady. I could make a list.

I think it's oddly hypocritical of Lian that Lian isn't bothered by Kuea's new "behaving". Because it looks a lot like the fake Kuea Lian supposedly hates.
