Title Gen Y Season 2 Spoiler
We’ve had the watch on top of the other watch analogy before! So I’m confused as to why it didn’t represent…
I'm with you on this 100%. The stacked watches are what had me thinking they'd had sex last season! So does it mean something or not?

I presume by "why bring the one guy in at the last two episode" you mean Padbok. And he's been brought back later…
The actor who plays Padbok is named Junior. Junior appears to have left Star Hunter Entertainment, the creators of Gen Y. So his part in the drama was greatly reduced. We don't know the exact reasons for all of it.

Title Cutie Pie Spoiler
I watched the first two episodes back to back this weekend and while I liked many elements about the show, I really, really disliked Lian and Yi.

Yi was worse. He definitely gives off "I keep zip ties and duct tape in my glove box" vibes. Dude is intimidating on purpose that in and of itself is problematic. And I really dislike that he tries to control where Diao goes. That Diao is afraid of him is not cool.

As for Lian? He wonders why Kuea wants to break off the engagement. IDEK! I mean, let's see. 1) You told him you don't love him. 2) You told him you were only marrying him because you promised his grandfather. 3) You called him inhuman. And 4) Then you landed some icing on that poop cake and called him a haunted doll.

Dude, I wouldn't want to marry you either. In fact, if a ring were involved I'd have fed it to you, rectally. And then Lian kissed Kuea while he was too drunk to consent. Wow. Lian is an asshole to set the standard by. Sure, we audience know what Kuea doesn't, which is that Lian does actually love him. But love isn't enough to be healthy. There has to be respect and kindness in a relationship as well or it can't function.

Now people might say that Lian's behavior doesn't count because Kuea is hiding his true personality. The fact is, whether Lian knew Kuea was Kirin or not is beside the point. Had the well behaved person Kuea pretended to be been real, Lian's behavior wouldn't have suddenly been more or even less okay. Regardless of who Kuea is, Lian's behavior was horrid.

Kuea himself made me smile a lot. I had a laugh during the flashback of his Ramen fail. I was yelling at my screen "Oh course he can't cook Ramen, Diao! Baby, he's rich. They don't know how to do things!" His wardrobe change was a perfect example. Rich ingenue=clueless. But he has an enormous heart and very romantic ideas and he's into motorbikes. So he's got a lot of goods. Also, the drumming, very sexy. That he also cares about Diao is just win.

Diao is my fav. He was so useful and loyal, and compassionate. And so funny and loving. Supportive best friend material A+. But despite knowing they're going to do that stupid thing with this BL where toxic behavior and symptoms of a dangerous personality are made into cute or sexy elements, I hope he dumps Yi.

Yeah, fuck that. Diao and Kuea need to marry each other and ditch the rotten S.O.'s.

The technical stuff was good. I liked the music, (I did notice that both Lian and Yi got ominous almost villain music) and the SFX were hilarious. The sets were fun, the lighting was on point. There were a couple of points were audio suggested the lav mic's needed moved. But that's fairly common place. Overall the actors did great, too!

So if we could 86 the boyfriend baggage, the show would be perfect. But since we can't. I am expecting more consent issues, more ominous, creepy, threatening or insulting behavior and for me to throw my arm out tossing stuff at my tv. They've got two episodes to make the make Lian and Yi less cringingly awful. I need some kind of super big turn-around before either of them will resonate with me even a little.

The only thing I have to say is that bas looks really good. He embodies the notion that everybody wants him regardless…
He IS very beautiful. I also enjoy his acting/singing. So on top of being beautiful, he's quite gifted.

How this show got a second season and we still waiting for my engineer is beyond me
The difference lies in funding.

My Engineer 2 has had trouble getting funded. Even the original show had that problem. My Engineer season 1 barely got off the ground, after several false starts.

Star Hunter handled its cash flow a bit differently. They built up 150 Million Baht and then split it among several initial projects, Gen Y 2 being just one of them.

is there a s3 ? and way bring the one guy in at the last two episode?
I presume by "why bring the one guy in at the last two episode" you mean Padbok. And he's been brought back later in the season to finish off his character arc that was left over from season 1.

As for whether there's a season 3? I sure hope so. But right now there have only been hints. They're good, solid hints. But we have no proof yet.

The "not initially sharing a bed" thing was pretty much on brand. It was Thanu respecting Wayu's sense of propriety…
LOL! Yeah. Thanu said he "also doesn't stay still in his sleep". Then said "I wonder if this tiny pillow can hold me off".

Every time Wayu takes one step forward in demonstrating new comfort levels, Thanu teases him just a little. They're so cute.

Just my thoughts, but I will put it in a spoiler as some people may not have seen the episode yet.First, what…
The "not initially sharing a bed" thing was pretty much on brand. It was Thanu respecting Wayu's sense of propriety and not pressuring for Wayu to adapt to more physical intimacy than he already had that trip. Which was very sweet.

I am not sure if there will be a season 3. The more I learn about the end of next episode, the more it looks like a possibility that they're closing the Gen Y universe. But I cannot be sure. I certainly hope for a season 3.

While this show hasn't been perfect and it has been frustrating to the max at times, it is a way better drama…
Agreed. The show isn't perfect but it doesn't deserve it current rating. Honestly I've seen way worse shows with much better ratings. I think the ratings are due in part to how polarized people's reactions were here.

Title Gen Y Season 2 Spoiler
Also, can someone please remind me what happened between Padbok & Thanu in Gen Y? I completely forget besides…
In season one it's established that Thanu has been out of school for one year, related to an issue from his past with Padbok.

Padbok is holding a grudge so extensive that he's violent about it, and even harasses those who associate with Thanu (Kit and Wayu). He's also very angry and unpleasant in general.

What we know for sure is that while Thanu was originally in his second year of college with Padbok (who was his best friend), Padbok had some kind of friction with ah high-schooler from the same school that Kit and Pha graduated from. We can presume this friction is what got him arrested.

On more than one occasion Padbok hinted that Thanu didn't just leave him stewing overnight in jail after Padbok got arrested, but that Thanu also did something else that was deeply unforgivable.

Both Jack and Jill know what the beef is that Padbok has with Thanu. And at one point Jack (I think) talks briefly to Thanu, asking if Thanu is ever going to tell Padbok the truth. The suggestion is that Padbok hasn't forgiven Thanu because he misunderstands the situation due to Thanu withholding a truth that would enable Padbok to forgive him. But we never find out what that is.

Padbok and Thanu were supposed resolve their stuff throughout this season. But there was a rewrite. Junior, the actor playing Padbok, possibly left Star Hunter Entertainment. This may be the reason why Padbok was almost entirely written out of Season 2, and the CP between him and Kad (the actor playing Wayu's cousin, Sab) was ended. So the show's creators may not resolve the Thanu-Padbok problem in the final episode next week. With so little time they may drop it altogether and just leave Padbok being an asshole. Or maybe we'll get two scenes. One with Padbok fighting with Thanu and one where he somehow learns the truth.

But I hope we at get an answer of some kind.

Btw that JackKoh scene in ep 9 made my heart happy. Not to mention the cool fairy tale elf performance right after…
Those were epic moments! Kalae's character is actually Death. And yes, the Javk/Koh were cute.

I liked all the metadramas.

Is it just me... or does Padbok appear for the FIRST TIME in episode 8? I keep feeling like I'm missing smth lol
No, You're right. Padbok doesn't appear in season 2 until late. The actor who plays Padbok pulled from the project as much as possible. He's in the season enough to close Padbok's storyline and then he's done. He pops back up in episode 11. And he will be in the final episode next week.

Well, this is not the "one sentence" I swore I'd post this week. But it IS much shorter.

I really enjoyed this episode. In fact, I only had one WTF moment when there was a choppy transition on the Juniors' performance during the music festival. Everything else fit in nicely.

I loved all the Thanu/Wayu bits, of course. They were adorable. Lots of fan service and sweetness for the Thanu/Wayu fans out there this episode. My favorite moment was Thanu playing with a sleeping Wayu's plump bottom lip. And Wayu being a blanket hog was right up there. And it was absolutely the best to watch Thanu just all up in Wayu's personal space while in bed. Next week they cement the deal with the next step of physical intimacy and I absolutely love how slow they've taken this. I enjoy dramas where the sex either is after the close of the show, or at the very end. Tale of 1000 Stars was one of my favs for the same reason. Wayu and Thanu have kissed way more than Phupha and Tian ever did. Slow burns are beautiful!

Mark and Kit rode the bus to clueville and had a brief but effective communication to the tune of Kit's "I didn't want to go, I only applied because you told me to!" and Mark's "Hey, I only told you to go because I didn't want to hold you back!". Kit's emotions in that scene were so honestly amazing. And I am glad they had Kit sort of hampering his own progress over the season rather than having him go and then Mark have to struggle to learn enough English to follow him later.

My only prob was that Copter and Kimmon are adorable together, but their energy is absolutely never sexy. So the setup for the sex scene later felt kind of off. However, if you love Mark/Kit, you may find this scene steamy.

Pok and Tong made progress, even if they did it in a round about way. Not much to say there. I was intrigued that Tong's desk has replicas of two major works by Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel.

And then we got Padbok being SUCH a creep! He touched Wayu's face and was all "Nong you can be my boyfriend". Damn, Padbok. I thought that creeper shit you did with Kit was in the past! And SaenSab just sassing his way through it. Sab was so fun in that scene and he gets the award for "Best Cousin Ever". And I love that the Juniors caught Thanu before he landed the punch. I love that the camera angle on the near hit made Thanu look huge.

I had some nitpicks about the episode's lighting choices in a couple areas, but even on a technical level the overall episode was well put together. And the music, for once, was handled sensitively. So the whole thing felt coherent and well accomplished, even for all the soft emotion happening.

This episode was satisfying in other ways too. Because it was Jack and Koh that bring the bouquet for Thanu we get this whole "We're done pursuing him" vibe from them. We even got a solid moment of Saendee pining while Phai was (Briefly) on stage. And I loved that Mark called during Wayu's vacation to check on him. We've been missing their bro time for a while.

I really think they did a good job with this episode. And since Kit/Mark have reunited and Tong/Pok have done so as well, it leaves room next episode for Wayu to maybe have that last moment of intimacy and it leaves room for Jack and Koh to finalize their relationship. I presume Phai and Saendee will then as well. Which will hopefully be satisfying for the folks who love them.

I'm looking forward to next week.

Sorry, I can't with them anymore. The very fact that they're "training" to be apart is dumb. Treasure the time…
The plot of the practice the separation was always a worrisome one because it obviously was a knee-jerk reaction from Kit in answer to the fact that he was hurt and upset Mark was just going to let him go. He even admits it's more of a stalemate that one of them will break, rather than a real trial of some sort.

So it's not practical, but emotional. Had Kit just articulated that he was struggling with the idea of leaving or had Mark just articulated that he wanted Kit to stay, Kit wouldn't have even embarked on that painful separation.

They really need to talk more honestly.

Also, could you maybe slip your post behind a spoiler warning?

I personally am hoping they stay. But I'm already kind of resigned to them going. That being said, even if they go, they won't be gone forever.

Hey, I get you. I assumed Mark and Kit were getting their resolution this episode and it's nice to see they actually do. I'm as curious as anyone about whether they go to America or stay.
