I didn't condemn a whole system. I didn't condemn "the system" at all. Read my damn post. You act like my post says "You have to like the show or else you're all evil". You can critique the show. You can hate the show. Feel free. And I made that quite clear. I really can't make that any clearer at all. At this point if you've missed that, it's on you.

As for "white knighting" I can and should do it if I want to. That you think it's unwarranted is duly noted. I'm free to disagree. If you say this is a place for critique then consider that I have made a criticism.

At no point in time is anyone ever expected to sit quiet if they see something wrong. And some of the posting here is wrong, by your own admission. When insults are being flung that denigrate or insult using gender or sexuality or even offhandedly race, as well, then damn sure bet you I'm going to say something about it. If we have posters who are legitimately not comfortable here because of a toxic element, damn sure bet you I'm going to say something about it. You can call that social justice warrior battling, or white knighting or whatever label you want to stick on it in order to delegitimize it. Doesn't mean I'm going to stop. Do with that what you will.

Yeah, I was really hoping Mark would be there. That it would be one of those exigent circumstances that meant Mark would insist and Kit would be wrecked enough to let him. But looks like not. So I am wondering how things will resolve.

Sorry hon. I know it sucks. When I got confirmation that Kad wasn't in a CP with Junior anymore I actually needed a minute. It shook me hard. I hadn't realized how much I was looking forward to Padbok/Sab. I knew I wanted it but when I realized it really wasn't gonna happen I was wrecked.

You know, fuck it. I am cheering for the crew too! From the makeup artist that helped tell a parallel story to Pha's illness in Wayu's pale face, to the people who did the amazing lighting during the metadramas, to the music director who was a fucking sadist the whole damn season so far... I love you all.

Yes! Let's cheer them on! Love it or hate it, it's been a damn ride! And I've made some fun friends along the way.

The actors definitely are top notch. I loved watching all of them and they all reached me in some way. rewatching scenes with Dun where I thought at first he was a little flat, I found it was because I was staring at Copter or Bas in the scene. When I studied Dun I found he was a lexicon of microexpressions that told a whole story. So I loved Dun just as much as Bas in this.

I didn't care for "Bad Buddy" and though I loved "Not Me", it isn't the same kind of BL story as this one. So I don't compare them. I tend to judge a universe on it's own merits rather than comparing it to other stories. Gen Y has this something about it that is sweet and fun and compelling and interesting and just playful--even really sad sometimes. It just grabs me as a BL universe.

I think overall season 2's plot was amazing. No script is ever perfect. Trust me I tear into problems with plots and I have had my criticisms of the way Kit and Mark were handled in this season's scripting. But overall the plot was magic. The filmed scenes just had utter shit pacing at times. And I can forgive the pacing issues because every actor delivered solid performances.

So kudos to the cast! I love you all. Gen Y 2 is something to be proud of for all of you!

I am primarily concerned that they introduce the trip in a way that doesn't diminish the timeline of mourning for Pha. I can assume they're going to scoot time forward in the episode in order to make the trip not feel crass.

But I am also really looking forward to the trip. Poor Bas got soooo sunburned filming that part of the episode! Like lobster burnt. So Red.

I put this behind a spoiler tag to tuck it in, because it's a bit long. I do that a lot.

I'll start out saying I don't need people to agree with me on the merits of the show. And if you reread my post, you'll find I did mention that it was just a few people. I did not say all or even most of the posters here who don't like season 2 are the problem. I don't mind if people dislike the show. But there is a level of gleeful wallowing in toxicity involved in some of the posts that is entirely uncalled for. And it's catching on because others see it and are emboldened by that group think herd behavior that humans do so well and almost never for a good cause.

Whether people like it or not, that sort of behavior dissuades others from wanting to post here. I was specifically addressing that issue. I was also reaching out to someone who posted and then deleted their post the other day before I had a chance to say hello and welcome.

What I personally do not approve of is people coming on and saying stupid shit like "Thai BL's don't appeal to my Western sensibilities," only to continue to dish on Thai BL's all over MDL. If you don't like Thai BL's don't watch them. That this person watches them even though they've admitted they don't like them, says they only do it to have an audience while they spew really over the top rude posts. Not cool. This same poster has used racist terms in posts here and in other Thai BL comment sections. But there are other problems here. I also do NOT approve of character's being insulted based upon their gendered qualities or whether they are sexually active. Both of which are common here. Do you know how many times I saw Wayu complained about using female gendered insults? Hell, one poster actually used menstrual cycles as part of their insult. WTF, people! And do you know how many times virginity has been shamed or denigrated here? How many times it gets suggested there is something intrinsically wrong with characters or romantic relationships in the show that are not sexual in nature? That's some bullshit right there. As a culture we are better than that and as individuals we need held to that cultural standard.

Honestly, I've started reporting posts involving gendered insults or ones with racial overtones. We ought to be over saying shit like that. To be clear for the people who don't know this somehow, stop using femaleness as an insult. Since statistically speaking, most of you are women, it's really very lame. For some of the people who come here to post and then turn their backs to the possibility, using femaleness as an insult is exceptionally hurtful. Also, fuck all of you who do it. Genderqueer characters are beautiful.

And while certainly it can be argued that there is a loss when people surround themselves only with people who agree, I will offer a counter argument. Something gets lost when in order to expose yourself to varied opinions you end up dealing with toxic behaviors that stress and/or upset you based upon the tenor and language of those differing opinions. I don't want everyone to agree with me about the merits of Wayu or Thanu or any of the others, or even love the show. I want people not to use hurtful, bigoted language like this is some mean-girl hangout at a grade-school playground and none of the people know any better.

Maybe I am more sensitive to it. But that doesn't mean sometimes it's not the right thing for me to reach out to the people I KNOW are out there coming to MDL and just not confident enough to post amid some of the really vitriolic shit that gets posted here. Because I'm more than happy to befriend every one of them. Not all of the ones I've met so far even like Wayu.

I myself am more than capable of swimming in rough seas to express myself and support the show. But that doesn't mean those people I talk to behind scenes are wrong for feeling unwelcome here. This place can be a toxic, swampy obstacle course at times. Like them, I did not come here in order to enjoy posts that insult the characters in vicious and unnecessary ways that suggest counter intuitive amounts of misogynist or homophobic sentiment or even from time to time hints of racism. I come to give a more positive observation of the merits of the show for people coming here for the first time. I come here to share the joy I feel experiencing the charming Gen Y universe. I also come here to support the actors I love. I come to meet people like JaydeeJay and thekarielle who are delights. And I come to meet all the others whom I have been very fortunate to bump into.

That was an exciting moment. I personally also got a kick out of how vibrant Wayu was when he went for the cleaned shirt. I was like somebody has a laundry kink. And uhm, yeah, Thanu is helping with that. But I actually found the spilling of the coffee itself more interesting than shirtless Dun. Not that shirtless Dun is EVER not of interest.

But the coffee spilling was sweet. It said very loudly that Thanu has developed a bag of rituals forming a rapport with Wayu. A language of flirting.

I was VERY love with the idea of them. I am also so sad about it. It was a real shame and I just hope that in season 3 Kad gets another CP. He's a sweetheart.

There exists the possibility that even though Junior is not with Star Hunter any more that he will still do a CP with Sab just for Gen Y. But given Kad's recent posts and the fact that there are only three episodes left, it's not looking likely.

Don't forget, the countdown clock for the next episode is 24 hours fast. The air time is Tuesdays at 11:20am EST.

Jack and Koh have had a small but steady presence in every episode. They are finally looking like they're heading to a relationship and I expect they're going to actually be really cute. And Phai has been a boss at various times. He's figured Saendee right out. I expect he and Saendee are working toward getting together.

Never listen to the negative comments on MDL. Just watch and make up your own mind. I am American but my tastes in media tend to run along the same lines as audiences in Asia do and not only have I really enjoyed this season, this show has been very well received in Thailand. I don't know if that helps you decide. But I hope you decide to watch the rest of the episodes.

I loved season 1. And I have learned that My Drama List is full of a lot of posters in the comments section who just like complaining. Most shows I've watched that had really bad comments I have actually greatly enjoyed. So I think it's a wise idea that you gave Gen Y a chance, despite the comments section.

This second season has some pacing issues. But other than that it's had a really interesting story line. Lots of drama. None of us quite know why Kit did the crazy stuff he's done. But regardless of why, I am sure it's about to see a resolution. And there have been some really good fan theories pop up here. So amid the complaints about the show you may really connect with some of the fans.

It seems that Padbok's actor, Junior, has quite probably ended his contract with Star Hunter Entertainment.

Add to this that SaenSab's actor, Kad, posted the other day that he "Was the only one at Star Hunter with no partner" Which means that Kad is no longer in a CP with Junior.

Therefore more than likely there will be no Padbok/Sab because they've dropped that story-line due to Junior leaving the talent management company.

I've gotten together a small group of folks here on MDL who usually don't post because they are wary of dealing with the aggressively negative posters here on the Gen Y comments sections. I talk to them via DM or Discord.

It's really unfortunate a few of the posters here can't be better about this comments section, but that's just the way some people are. I notice some of the same posters being negative here doing it in other Thai BL comments sections on MDL. It's not always about the quality of the show. Heck, one of them has said that Thai BL's just don't appeal to their Western sensibilities, and yet they visit Thai BL pages on MDL just to post negativity. And the more people call them out for some of the outrageous things they say, the more they like it. They just want an audience for being nasty.

And that's understandably off-putting to some other people who come here.

I missed out inviting one such person to be a MDL friend the other day. They posted here of their like of Wayu and Thanu, and how they weren't comfortable posting due to the haters, but felt able to make an exception due to how moving they found episode 9. Before I had a chance to send out a friend request, they'd deleted the post and I missed getting their user name. So if that person is still reading, you are not alone. Several of us love Thanu/Wayu and/or the show. You don't have to answer me here, just feel free to send me a friend request. I have met some really good people on here who otherwise I would have missed if not for their posting just once. So if you want to talk, just hit me up.

And for anyone else worried about posting here because you feel like a minority in the din of Wayu haters or people who think the show is awful, don't worry. Just post. I'd love to read what you have to say, and I'm not the only one. No matter who your favorite pairing is.

That being said, for fans of the show who want to talk in general or even share fanworks in an environment free of the negativity on MDL, I created a Gen Y fan group on Discord. You do NOT have to like Thanu/Wayu. All you need be is a fan who loves the show and is able to interact kindly with other members.

I rewatched the death scene of Pha. And no longer caught up in the surprise I was able to more objectively look at the scene. Everyone did a splendid job acting. It was very beautiful and touching and sad and hit all the emotions perfectly on key. Bravo to the whole cast involved in that.

It wove into things in a way I think I get better now. That's a usual thing for me. I watch it and have a reaction, then I rewatch it and come to new conclusions. All in all I really, really loved this episode more than probably any of the last 3 or 4. It had better flow than the previous episode and this sort of holding energy in the plot was released with Pha's sudden passing. I can't wait for next Tuesday to come! I want that next episode.

I completely agree. Pha's death is totally the big enough event. And I feel like it would be one hurt too many to come back from if there was something hurtful left for them to still find out about why Pha stopped treatment. Honestly, I think just finding out he stopped treatments when he died was bad enough.

And yes, Copter and Bas did a really excellent job with that scene. It was painful in all the right ways.

Pha wasn't a character I liked much, but certainly I am hoping he didn't leave behind anything that would be scarring for Wayu or Kit. A nice letter would be good. It was certainly so, so sad for them, I feel like they probably both need something like that.

Asexual spectrum characters get far too little representation. And along with genderqueer male characters in bl's, they also tend to get the most hate from western viewers. So many times here on MDL I've seen people pick apart Wayu's character just for his lack of sexual "progress". As though asexual leanings in a character can't possibly be normal. And I see people refer to his more feminine traits as though femaleness is wrong or bad. I've seen MDL users even employ "girl" as an actual insult to him. So Wayu's quiet nature aside, I am always sensitive to both issues when i do see an ace and/or genderqueer character.

But I agree that there are definitely pacing issues. Hell yes there are. The story of Thanu/Wayu itself, though, is well woven. The drawn out stares just aren't enough to ruin that for me.

But I do realize mileage varies.
