Ok so episode 8It was really nerve wrecking episode! I was so nervous throughout!
Right where to start
Manga pacing is all over the place but this is still within volume 5 and 6 but more towards volume 6/7.
That stand off between Shirou and Kimiaki was really lackluster. Shirou in the manga was wayy more forceful and got Kimiaki to confess to everything. It was a massive fail from Shirou.
The bonding scenes with Rion, Ichirou and Shirou was cute about them wanting to go on a trip.
Which leads to the massive shoot out with Emile, Hayashida vs Ichirou, Rion and Shirou. I love that whole fight scene with Shirou and Emile, even if she did kick his ass lol.
But the BIG SHOCKER was Rion taking the bullet for Emile (whoever that women name is), I really hope she's ok at least.
Next episode preview: Oh yeah the love hotel scene lol, that's volume 4 if I remember. we are jumping all over the place but in general we are appoaching volume 7 material with Yukiko.
Omake 8: Just two grown men fighting about who should take out the trash. But I don't like taking out trash neither. I understand
Omake 11: Body swap out of nowhere. I am impressed with Suzuki's version of Shirou. It was fun to see a serious Inukai and a carefree Suzuki. That damn cliffhanger before the kiss. Is kiss scenes always have to be THIS SLOW lol.
There was no kiss. So u didn't miss anything if you were sad about not seeing it. Maybe next week idk? Im not…
Thanks for confiriming!
This is a 3 part omake right? From what I read from the tweet. So it's most likely going to continue next week as well. The title for omake 12 is "After the kiss" so maybe a kiss scene in omake 12?
I think episode 8 omake version 2 (omake 11) might be able to finally answer the question if this series is BL or bromance because kiss scene confirmed. BUT if we are watching the boardcast version we MOST LIKELY are getting a different omake instead (how many omake ideas can you do?!)
Sadly episode 8 omake version 2 (aka omake 11) is only going to be exclusive on Hulu Japan. Meaning the kiss scene is blocked in the mercy of Hulu Japan.
So as always with Kei x yaku, there is always a last minute interview being posted online. It's late and I don't…
Like a summary of the most important points from the producer
This DAMN PRODUCER. The producer knew the charms of the combination of male couples like in Thai dramas and yet they keep talking about wanting to blanace the bromance between the two and the mystery of the story.
The producer for casting wanted to cast new faces/ not so popular mainstream actors for the role. As like as matching them to the characters.
Suzuki was chosen because even though Suzuki mostly plays tough yankee roles, the producer saw Suzuki has a gentle side to himself and thought he was right for Ichirou.
Inukai was chosen because the producer follows his youtube channel and he wants to see a variety of expressions from Inukai. They wanted to see Inukai do a new type of role so they asked him.
THE PRODUCER KNOWS ABOUT THE BL ELEMENT FROM THE MANGA. The mangaka had originally put in the BL element in the story very carefully.
As the producer and crew were adpating the script and when the drama was being shot and coming to life. They realized those BL elements were showing.
So bromance with BL elements basically? Then maybe from this interview there's a chance that the BL elements will appear in the remaining episodes after all? At this point I don't know.
I'll translate this interview fully like later..give me a few days lol
So as always with Kei x yaku, there is always a last minute interview being posted online. It's late and I don't have the energy to translate it.
Anyway this online interview is with the TV producer and it gives more important insight into why they picked the work to make into a TV drama, why they casted Suzuki and Inukai.
Ok so did we see all the characters in the manga in the show already? Is the barber guy supposed to be the farmer…
As a manga reader I think the answer is yes.
Yamada is the farmer who is also the ex founder of the rival yazuka gang. Hayashi would be Ron from the manga snice the "women" (her name is Nina in the manga) works under him.
1st of all RIP Nakumura. Nakumura also dies in the manga and it was by the same person Yamada. Nice little knowing…
I don't really know.
I just said the hug was cute and Shirou was in distress and shaken so he needed that reassurance from Ichirou. I can't tell if it's homosexual or not everyone have different views.
The tattoo scene I can't really explain as well. I mean Ichirou touches Shirou's tattoo with his permission in the manga and he said it was beautiful and it suited him make what you will out of that.
Just because they hug in romantic way does'nt mean it's romantic. Friends hug each other all the time. But on the other hand that dream was something else, that might of meant something Ichirou and shirou having the same dream together.
So yeah episode 7By the way I am viewing the drama series as someone who has read the manga. So I might have a…

Yamada is also a character in the manga, although in the manga he was a farmer and not a hairdresser. It's nice to see him get introduced late.
Ok that morning dream Ichirou had was something else. Is there something there or not? He was dreaming that Shirou was appoaching his face to pull it lol. But shirou also had a similar dream?
Also the hug, very nice and gentle I thought. Shirou was scared and it was cute he clung on to Ichirou like that. Yes the fake dating was fun, but the hand holding was a nice touch too.
Omake: Simple but fun, I could see Ichirou and shirou playing rock paper sisscors and no one wins.
Next episode preview: So the shirou face off with Kimiaki and rion vs Emile (Nina no idea?). Still a lot of mixed events from volume 5 and 6 here.
So I have a question .. cause I’m love with this series.. are they popular in Japan? I couldn’t find any information…
I wish I can answer this, but I don't live in Japan.
Based on twitter the series has a niche fandom, I don't know anything about the ratings neither. But the episodes do well on TVer ranking (which is like an online service for dramas).
The thing is when I tune into the airing of the episode every thrusday I never see keixyaku tag trend ever on Japanese twitter. But Inukai's name does minor trend on japanese twitter every week an episode airs from what I see on screenshots
Hmm there was a recent poll ran on a Japanese website for popular late night drama, it landed 3rd place.
This series is not as popular as DCU and Mystery to Iunakare which are the two most popular Japanese dramas of winter 2022.

Maybe in the future they can expand on this. Exicted for next sunday!

I love the OST for this drama as well

It looks really trippy and it's going to be a wild ride..I do like the music influence and involvment in the story.
