While I absolutely love the leads... Am I the only one who think the friends' romance is forced? Jue Mei has a more playboy vibe so I was surprised he fell for the young girl so fast. She is pretty, but still. It was weird. I mean... was it love at first sight? There was no development in that regard, so must be it, right?
I mean the dynamic with leads and friends' is somewhat similar. Older man pursuing younger "timid" woman... but with the leads we at least watched how they grew closer due to texting and stuff.... it was not that they were just attracted to each other's appearance...even tho second couple was also texting with each other. It never felt "romantic" to me. But since they met, it felt just forced to me.
I just can't feel it with the second couple. It would've been great to have a second couple with a total different dynamic than the leads, but due to the age gap and their similar professions, the second couple is quite boring to me.
How can the band friends not recognize his voice? They spent the whole day with him and he even sang a song.... and still they didn't recognize him? Not even one of them...weird.
also obsessed with how ru yi and nyz dote on her thatβs their daughter !!,
Totally! I always felt that the three of them already look like a little family XD Especially when they slept in the carriage in ep 13. That was so cute how the princess slept on Ruyi's lap and she on NYZ's shoulder ;)
right? the cliffhanger got me, now I probably won't sleep because of it( but I am so invested in seeing this marquis's…
Yeeees!! I'm so excited for their encounter. Not sure if we're really gonna get it next ep, but pls I need tomorrow to come faster. I sure won't be able to focus at work π
Gosh I can't say enough how much I love it that the roles are kinda reversed here!
She is the one pursuing him, courting him, protecting him, watching him sleep, teasing him with an almost kiss... and him being the shy one hahahaha π I just love it! This drama is so good that I'm always looking forward to wake up the next day β€οΈ
Binge-watched the first 4 episodes and I LOVED IT soooo much! β€οΈ A long happy rant :D
I'm already really happy whenever I encounter a Cdrama without dubbing haha π I know this drama is all about voices and dubbing, but I just think the dubbing in Chinese dramas takes a lot of essence of the acting away. I rarely like Chinese dramas with dubbing, especially rom-coms... Just personal preference. But I find the premise of this show really interesting and maybe it's gonna change my view or opinion of dubbing.
Tan Jian Ci's voice is so soothing and sexy! It's almost like audio p*rn when he's speaking, especially when he's narrating those recipes hahaha π They casted the perfect actor as ML. I'm so glad I found this actor through LYF, because I'd be missing out! Also his eyes speak volumes!!!! So melo and gentle π₯° I'm just gonna imagine this is Xiang Liu's reincarnation to mend my heart πβ€οΈ
It's my first drama with actress Zhou Ye and I'm really pleasantly surprised! Her acting is natural and she is really adorable! I think it's a hard feat to act shy and cute without it being cringe. And she's really good at it!
At first I thought the visuals of the leads wouldn't match because the actress looks quite young and Jian Ci does have a youthful face, but mature vibe, so I was sceptical, but I really like this pairing! They have an age gap in the drama, so I think it fits pretty well :D
ALSO THE DEVELOPMENT! I'm a sucker for a good romance development which makes my heart flutter and this definitely achieved it. When they first met in real life I had butterflies in my stomach. That's what I call romantic β€οΈ I really loved how they grew closer due to texting, voice messages, phonecalls.... In this time and date this is actually so realistic and authentic :D
Why do i have a feeling we will have a BE. This type of dramas like to kill so many favourites characters. I am…
I'm actually glad this is not a novel and no one can spoil it haha π I would love a happy ending, but I'm just hoping for a good and satisfying ending.
I love this show so far, but ahhh I feel dumb sometimes with shows that do a lot of plot dumping at the start.…
Oh totally! Especially the Liudao Hall different path groups are still complicated haha π Is the character chart somewhere in English, because I just see the Chinese version on MDL.
I always have the cast list open, so I can pause the drama and see who they are talking about even if the character is not officially introduced yet. It's easier that way to remember their names if you have a face directly with it.
It's always a lot of information in Wuxia and Xianxia dramas and I have read sentences and watch scenes several times as well. But I think this drama is actually pretty good at introducing us to new characters. I've seen more confusing ones haha
Watched to ep 8 and soo far I absolutely love this...it great when they have good supporting characters.....n…
I love how the antagonists are not just evil for the sake of being evil, but have diverse personalities as well. It's great to see both sides being explored without any of them being the typical "evil" antagonist.
wow, whatβs wrong with the rating? only yesterday i saw itβs 8.5. itβs really a good drama. please give…
Yes, it's soooo good! I hope the ratings will go up again, because this deserves at least 8.5 as of now. If it keeps being so good then even a 9.0 is deserved :O
I haven't been that excited for a Wuxia since The Long Ballad β€οΈ
omgosh! Their development is so natural and romantic!! β€οΈ I love the long talks they have about personal stuff and their past. You can definitely feel and understand why these two individuals are slowly falling for each other. Not just because they are ML and FL, so they are just supposed to love each other in the end... No, one can actually see why and how they fell for each other! I love relationships who have such a great development. And I love how she is the one pursuing him, protecting him, courting him.... That's so refreshing to see!

And Ru Yi did want a daughter haha XD
Sung Lang: "You will meet the person, you want to settle down with, someday."
Yu Shi San:"That's impossible. If I meet her, I'll die."
