I really wanted to give this 10/10... but I just can't. WTF was that ending. Why do all the Wuxia and Xianxia dramas that I love always end up like this? I really don't know how to rate this now...
My gosh... WHY?! Like why? I'm on ep 37 and I don't want to watch any further because I'm sad, annoyed and frustrated...
I was prepared for a lot of deaths, so I gotta say Qian Zhao and Sun Lang didn't take me off guard. It was devastating, but with Yuan Lu it got gradually harder for me to take in...
But even worse than all of the deaths is how freaking annoying they had to take LTG's obsession to the end! I thought, finally we are rid of that annoying plot, but then ep 37 happened. WTF?! I don't know, but that destroyed something in this drama for me, because usually the writers are so good writing, but WTF did they do here? I'm so angry with this bullsh*t, that i can't even enjoy the "sudden" wedding ceremony between Ruyi and Ning... Like am i the only one who thinks, this is so badly written? I just don't want to continue, because I feel like they will kill many more characters off and I'm just so angry and annoyed...
No, me too! They definitely have tons of chemistry and how awesome would be a sequel of YY's story within An State. This has so much potential. Also with LTG as the ML. Both disciples of Ruyi. Would be kinda cool :D
Just binge-watched the latest episodes and wow... I don't know what to say. This drama is so amazing! I'm impressed…
Yang Ying really has one of the best character development I've seen! I'm mind-blown by her remarkable development and journey. Also I could totally imagine a sequel within An State with her as the main lead, because omg... her story in An State would have so much potential! And maybe LTG as the ML, because damn... am I the only one who thinks they have great chemistry? Both are smart, cunning and multi-layered. Also LTG finally gave up Ruyi! About time lol
The reunion between Ruyi and Ning was so good and I really hope neither of them will be harmed in the coming episodes.. That would be just too unfair. After all they've been through. The reunion was so good that I would love that to be their ending haha If their story ends here, because that would mean a HE for them and Yang Ying's story could begin here lol That would be so cool!
But we still have 6 eps left... It would be too cruel if either of them dies after so many near-death-experiences! Just let them be happy!
Also end of 34 with Qian Zhao's story really broke my heart! I knew he was the most affected with the death of the Liudao Hall soldiers, but who would've thought that Chai Ming was his brother?! There were short sequences where he cleaned all those name tags of the soldiers.... T-T
He always seemed the most loyal to the empire and its emperor, but who would've thought he planned to take revenge on Emperor Wu the whole time. I was actually really surprised. What a plot-twist! His story is too sad! I have the feeling he won't kill the emperor... but tbh I don't like the emperor at all even with his conscience suddenly kickin' in. He is responsible for so many deaths and he shouldn't be a ruler of a country. I couldn't care less if he dies, but I wouldn't want Qian Zhao to be negatively affected by his actions.
Just binge-watched the latest episodes and wow... I don't know what to say. This drama is so amazing! I'm impressed there hasn't been a single episode I was bored!
So much has happened, that I don't know what to comment on π
Had to pause because the acting is so good that I actually felt bad for Emperor An in Ep 32 at minute 14:35... The desperate and devastated look in his eyes really made me feel pity for him. Him realizing how much he has lost and I think it clicked just then that his first son is actually dead...He went insane, being humiliated in front of all officials... wow... Ruyi did what she promised.
But gosh, the acting is so phenomenal that I couldn't help but feel bad for this jerk at that moment lol
Ep 7 was really amazing! I especially loved the ending and how beautiful that song played in the end. This drama is getting better by each episode π
Heads must fall. Plots must thicken. There is revenge in the wind and sweet romance in the air, but are they still…
She said in ep 27 that the she won't take Empress' last words as a guide anymore. She will do whatever she wants. So I guess she's not keen anymore of getting a baby π But I still hope we get baby-making lol
Emperor Wu is disgusting af... Did you see how disgusted Ning looked at him? If looks could kill. So many people lost their lives for such a prick of an emperor. The writers usually killed all annoying characters off pretty fast, but they take too much time with him >_<
Seriously, If someone of our Lidao Hall squad dies while rescuing him, I will riot!!! He's not worth it! I can accept their deaths in other situations, but not while rescuing this a**hole!
So true! For me the worst, obsessive ML was the one in Ashes of Love. Any sane person would have shot the stalker…
Oh yes! Had to think about the ML in Ashes of Love as well. How he put a wedding gown and makeup on the FLβs dead corpse was a bit creepy but similar to what LTG did lol And also Tantai Jin of TTEOTM... I loved him dearly, but he was also obsessed with FL after she died π
Also with recent dramas like SOKP, we have a red flag ML, but he gets the yellow card, because ML status. Those forced kisses made me uncomfortable π
If RRY becomes nice to him, he will just cling to his obsession further "she's nice to me because i'm the most…
Yeah, you might be right, but she never tried another way, so not sure if that cold and indifferent behavior did the desired outcome π
She never talked honestly and openly to him once. I would've preferred that, the moment he found out she is indeed his Master. I feel like he is going all out now, because she is still "ignoring" him.
But let's see how NYZ is gonna teach him a lesson haha π LTG definitely needs a father/parent figure...
I don't like LTG behavior either, but am I the only one feeling Ruyi is unnecessarily cruel and cold to him? He mourned and missed her sincerely. Having several memorial sites with fresh food, flowers etc. everywhere he is stationed for war.
She felt disappointed towards him because he did not do the same for the Empress, but even the 2nd prince was "forbidden" by the Emperor to do so, so why is she expecting it from LTG? I would cut him some slack on that one. He is not the one who betrayed the Empress, but it felt like she took it out on him.
I mean Ruyi said herself how tragic it is, that Scarlet Guards will be completely forgotten once they die, like they never existed. But here is one person who kept her alive in his memories and through memorial services, even if in a kinda excessive way.
He is indeed obsessive, but I don't think her cruel behavior towards him is helping either π So I don't really get why she said, that it's better for him, if she is cruel to him. How is it better?
I actually do feel bad for him, because there was not one friendly encounter/exchange between them since they met, even tho he tried several times to warm up with her. She obviously cares for him, but doesn't show it in front of him.
I also think it's not "romantic" feelings he has for her, even if he thinks so. I mean he was 16/17 when she "died". He worships and idolizes her. However delusional he might be. I really hope NYZ can knock some sense into him... π I would love LTG to join the squad soon on friendly terms.
Unpopular opinion, but LTG's behaviour is a typical behaviour of some MLs in dramas.... But in those dramas it's "accepted" and even "romantic", because well, they are ML lol
Considering the empress son is such a power hungry descpicable person,I don't know why she told RY to not fall…
Yes, also don't understand why Ruyi should've a baby of her own. Even her own flesh and blood betrayed and killed her, so what's the point... Pitiful empress...
Oh man... did they really had to go so far with LTG? I love this drama, but his arc is kinda the only flaw imo. LTG is an interesting character and could've been a great companion as well, but they turned him into an obsessive freak. The dynamic between him and the squad could've been great if developed. And I would've liked it if he just turned out to love his master, just like Ruyi loves her empress. He could've been like Ying and Yuan Lu to our leads.
Just like Ning said... he could've been worth cultivating lol Now, I just want this annoying, obsessive arc to be over already.

So a lot of ML have tendencies like LTG imo.
