The beauty of human diversity! The negatives you mentioned where one of the reasons I loved the drama. I'm a sucker…
Why do I have to acknowledge your comment or even respond according how you want, when I didn't see any kind of relevance of your comparison with Cinderella evil characters to my opinion of SCREEN TIME DISTRIBUTION in this drama? π
Letβs just agree to disagree, okay? Iβm done arguing with immature biased fans like u lol
Maybe see u in another XZ drama section in the future~~ Hopefully by then you will learn that people can have different opinions and thatβs completely okay. It just makes them different than you. Which is so beautiful about humanity, right? Being different. How boring would it be if everyone thinks, feels or says the same?
I just started this and I'm on ep 5 now. So far I like it. It felt a bit slow and confusing at first, but it's slowly getting there π I absolutely love the FL! I think I've never seen a FL with personality like hers in a Chinese drama and it's so refreshing!
But I was kind of frustrated with the subs, because I started it on kisskh. And even tho the subs are not bad, they were not good either. Glad I switched to viki, because they are much better there and the drama is more enjoyable! So I recommend to all newcomers: Try to watch it with viki's translations β€οΈ
The beauty of human diversity! The negatives you mentioned where one of the reasons I loved the drama. I'm a sucker…
Oh man. This is getting nowhere π Why should I agree with you, when I just don't? Make it make sense. Of course, I'm defensive when you are coming for me for having a simple OPINION.
I mean, you as a XZ fan, are really not disappointed about the amount of screen time all the side character got in this drama? I would've gladly watched more Sheng Yang and Jian Bing instead of that annoying ice hockey couple and that uncle for example. Well yes, I am disappointed about the distribution of the screen time. As long as you liked it, that's good for you. Why do you have to force your opinion on me and calling me a hater for having a different one?
Also I never said I'm his fan, I said that I like him and his acting, therefore came to check out this drama. And no, some XZ fans like you for example, are nowhere nice and considerate about other people's opinions. If they would, we wouldn't have this ridiculous discussion right now π
The beauty of human diversity! The negatives you mentioned where one of the reasons I loved the drama. I'm a sucker…
What exactly are u furious about tho? Because I have an opinion different than yours? I don't understand. How am I an anti if I just expressed my opinion about this drama? That's exactly what I mean. If it's not an opinion in favor of this drama then you're automatically called an anti or hater. I also like XZ. He's the reason I started this drama in the first place and one of the reason I stayed till the end. But I don't have to love everything he stars in π
Of course you can express your opinion, but I've never seen a comment section so full of pressed stans who just have to counter attack every single opinion if it's not in favour of this drama or XZ.
Your comparison didn't make any sense to me at all in reference to my previous comment. Amount of annoying characters doesn't equal to the amount of screen time they get, hence why I didn't like his drama that much.
So yeah, Cinderella might be iconic because the story was actually about her and not about her evil step family π
why doesn't he have a main lead role if he's her love interest??
I'm not sure if he is her love interest tho. So far they seem to like each other. But I don't know how the story and their relationship is gonna develop. We're still in the beginning of the drama. Anything can happen...
I like both male leads, so I don't care who's gonna be her love interest. But I really do love the tension Qi Qi has with Zhang Jun. Until now Qi Qi and Xiao Bo seem to have more sibling vibes.
The beauty of human diversity! The negatives you mentioned where one of the reasons I loved the drama. I'm a sucker…
So what? Does that make this drama iconic? lol Good for u then. Sadly it wasn't for me. I don't have to justify my opinion. It's MY opinion.
Also, what kind of ridiculous comparison is that? Cinderella was the main lead in her story and it was never about her evil step family, but about HER and her story. Not about the love lifes of her step-sisters or mom or whatever. I don't care about the amount of annoying characters a drama has. I care about the amount of screen time those characters get.
Gosh, the comment section here is so full of pressed XZ fans, that one can't express an opinion without having them come after you.
O gosh... WHY.DO.THEY.DO.THAT? I just can't get behind it. It frustrates me so much. Like for real! Japanese seem to have the same formula for every romance drama. The last episodes always include a ridiculous forced break up with a quick reconciliation in the last 10 minutes because the leads suddenly have deep talk enlightenment or whatsoever. PLEASE FOR GOD'S SAKE! I wish Japanese dramas would evolve in some kind of way. It's getting ridiculous. Why do they throw all character and relationship development away? What for? This is just lazy writing to recycle every stereotypical trope.
I can't believe Takumi guilt-tripped her into staying by his side when he was hurt. And SHE didn't even hesitate to agree and then broke up with Kento. *facepalm* Like what the hell is wrong with u? Character regression is real. I felt so bad for Kento. He looked so hurt T-T... For real... I wouldn't have taken her back.
I give this a 6/10 and I added a star just because the last kiss scene was really beautiful! The beginning was so good tho T-T I guess summer is really over...
Omgosh Luo Qi Qi and Zhang Jun have such a sizzling chemistry β€οΈ I can literally feel Qi Qi's heart pounding when she is with him. The glances and how subtle they try to get each others attention. They definitely have a crush on each other. I'm always so excited with their scenes and interactions! That's why I loved today's episode. Zhang Jun tries to rekindle their friendship, but I understand why Qi Qi is hesitating. She was really hurt by him in the past...
Why are the episodes so short tho. I wish we would get a full hour π’
So I managed to watch the rest of the episodes today :) I really liked the leads and happy they didn't went with a cliche trope at the end with them, but overall this sadly wasn't my cup of tea.
As someone who loves slow-paced and character driven dramas, I was surprised that I didn't like this one as much. Guess because I just didn't like most of the characters, which is, of course, crucial for a character driven story. I liked the main leads and the colleagues couple. But everyone else was just a chore to watch. I did like the parents, but wasn't much interested in them. The thing is 70-80% of this drama was about characters and their story lines that I just didn't like or even couldn't stand. So yes, I'm guilty... I began to skip a big portion of this drama.
Also I wouldn't really call this a romance drama. It was a slice of life drama with a little bit amount of romance. As someone who's a sucker for romance and came here with expectations, this also was kind of a disappointment. The leads had a lot of chemistry and potential, but were kind of degraded to support roles. So their lack of screentime was highly frustrating and really unfair. Sadly I also felt that their relationship was quite unbalanced. It seemed like Sheng Yang pursuit her one-sidely for about 30 eps and Jian Bing just gave in eventually... But I still enjoyed their scenes a lot. I just felt this could've been so much better!
What I really loved was the acting! I guess as much as complains I had, in the end I stayed for the leads and their acting. Xiao Zhan was always a great actor with beautiful expressive melo-eyes. He's actually so perfect for romantic dramas, but why do I feel that he always gets the short straw while choosing dramas? π
And I'm glad I was introduced to Bai Bai He through this drama. Will definitely check out other dramas of hers β€οΈ
Actress Zhang Xi Wei who plays little Luo Qi Qi is already such a remarkable actress at such a young age. She is seen in a lot of dramas lately as the young version of the FL. And every time I see her, I'm really impressed by her acting. She can convey so many emotions and her expressions are topnotch. Be it emotional or comedic. She will grow to be a phenomenal actress!
I really really really love the bond displayed by young Luo Qi Qi and her grandpa. I love their scenes together.
I am so proud of BYF, he did a daring film, that could have ended his career, but he took step by step to become…
What daring film did he star in? I've just seen "Remembrance of Things Past" with him and I already loved him in that one. Here his acting is also topnotch!!
Regarding his weight... Lately I see a lot of skinny shaming (don't know if this is an actual word) with Chinese actors and I think it's really sad. People are considerate and mindful to overweight people, but just blurt out the most hurtful remarks to skinny people. You never know what that person goes through or if it's really just their natural body type.
I have a sister who is really skinny and it's her natural body type, but she gets to hear a lot of hurtful comments on a daily basis from people around her. She developed a complex because of that and even wears thick tights under her pants in hot summer. I feel so bad for her because people just say those things so lightly not knowing how hurtful they can be...
Wow the first 6 episodes were just amazing!!!!!! It's been awhile that I've seen a drama conducted so beautifully and mesmerizing. It feels different than any other drama with this kind of genre that I've watched. I really wish I was more eloquent to describe my feelings, but I would say it feels so raw and real to life but still so magical?!
The FL reminds me of the protagonist of one of my favourite novels as a kid "Anne of Green Gables". Both are imaginative, intelligent and bright girls who are curious about the world, but are also in her own world which a lot of people don't understand and hard to resonate with. Therefore makes them kind of lonely and hard to connect with. The difference here is that the FL was slowly deprived of her youthful and magical soul while she was taken into a different environment and hurt by the actions of her surroundings. How this brightness was slowly taken from her was so well-made! I'm actually amazed! While no one around her is actually evil, their actions hurt her so deeply that it scarred her soul. And she lost herself in the process. I guess now we will see her journey of finding herself again!
Really really great so far! I also love all of the male characters. I'm curious with whom the romance will actually be. But I love all of them for now!
I usually don't rate dramas while watching, but I just have to give it a 10 for now, because this drama deserves more attention and viewers. I don't want anyone to miss out on such a magnificent drama!
Just finished ep 2 and I'm crying T-T .. Luo Qi Qi was such an incredibly happy, cheerful and inquisitive child.. The parting from her grandpa and losing that healthy environment literally destroyed her youthful soul...I'm sad...T-T
I'm surprised there is not a lot of traffic in the comments π Because it's a novel written by Tong Hua and Zhao Jin Mai stars in it... I guess everyone is waiting for viki to pick this up. Like me :D
Lately I'm really a sucker for these Chinese modern Romance and Life dramas. I think no one does them better than Chinese! Some of them are just so "homely" and "calm". Giving a cozy and familiar feeling. And I'm an avid Kdrama fan hahaha π For me with anxiety issues, these kind of dramas are some kind of remedy. I hope this one will give me that feeling as well. Looking forward to it :)
Wow... ep17 was just brilliant! It was so heartbreaking T-T I didn't even realize how the time went by and episode was already over. This drama gets better and better by the episode! The character telling and development of even side characters is so well-written. I'm seriously amazed! And the acting of the whole cast is just mesmerizing. Not one actor lacks in anything!
I'm not a big fan of Wuxia/Xianxia dramas but I always try watching some in case I miss something out lol . And I'm really happy every time I find one that I genuinely love :)
Dol Dol sol sol ( whatever that name is) will be the one kdrama that i will hate because of their last two episodes.…
Amen! That drama should've ended with the scene where he took her out of the church to the beach. This is where it should've stopped! The writers were high on glue or something...
