There is only one thing I truly dislike about this drama and it's this comment section page. Leave it alone, people, we read your "awareness" a hundred times already! Can't you leave the page to those who actually DO enjoy this? Sheesh y'all love to complain. Can't you take it on twitter or sth?
I absolutely love this drama so far! It reminds me of old school kdrama rom-com and I'd missed that. The leads are gorgeous too, such a treat! I hadn't watched a kdrama in a while so I'm glad for this one.
I freaking love the chemistry of this couple, and I'm curious about the second leads couple that are constantly bickering, can't wait to see those two together as well. I don't care about the evil female lead or psycho liar brother, but I enjoy all couple moments. They're both beautiful to look at and their dynamic is great, even if they're both stupid, lol. I hope this version ends up having them together, because literally no one else could handle the other, those two deserve each other.
I like this much more than previous "schools" because of the characters. I find myself caring for them and their relationships already. Can't wait for next week's episodes!
Where did you hear it can you tell me please cause i have seen few people commenting gg3 on youtube, so i am a…
I hate to say this because I'd be thrilled for an original season 3 with the same characters, but the video on utube that started this rumour is complete bullsh*it. The creator must have read that the story is a trilogy and since we have two seasons, there must be a third one coming up, one for each book. They even mention the titles of the books on the video, but they haven't done their research right, because all the story has been covered.
"God's left hand" actually refers to Wu Bai, it was his nickname, so it's not a different protagonist.
First two books are about Ai Qing and Wu Bai. Third book is about Han Sanyang and Tong Nian.
There is no other story, so there can't be another season, unless a miracle happens and they decide to write a completely new story. Very doubtful.
Could certain trolls refrain from derailing the comments thread with their vitriol? We get it, you don't like it, now kindly shut up, no need to say it a gazillion times. Damn I've reached my blocking quota here and can't even block anymore.
I wish certain people understood that while it's definitely okay to share their opinion, we don't need it in multiplication. No one cares, you're only being utterly annoying. Go find sth better to do with your time.
The only thing I could find was this video https://youtu.be/HrmVLAyddJc which has distorted facts so it's not reliable at all. It says that the first book "God's left hand" is about a 15-year-old boy, but that is... Wu Bai. Both seasons have covered the books, so if there's going to be a season 3, it'll have to be based entirely on a new script.
it’s not clear how this is related to go go squid. Can someone explain the setting of the drama? In the other…
Ten years ago from present time in both GGS1 and GGS2, Solo, Appledog, Gun, Xiaomi, and All were all part of one esports team that won national championship and had aspirations of going international. They were the ones that made esports popular in China and were treated as the superteam that started it all. During one competition, Gun brought his younger cousin Wu Bai over to watch in the audience, and the boy fell in love with Appledog then and there, and decided he'd follow in her footsteps until he was ready to face her as an equal and then be able to confess.
At the time, Solo and Appledog were dating. One day Solo found out that his ex girlfriend had a daughter that he had no idea about, and she brought the daughter to him to raise. This resulted in him breaking up with Appledog, and then the whole team broke up, which led to Gun being very bitter.
Fast forward seven years, Appledog meets Wu Bai and is defeated by him in the national championship. They part ways for three years, during which, Gun and Wu Bai create K&K.
And fast forward these three years. Gun and Wu Bai come back to China, so we're in present time. DT Appledog's time focuses on the relationship between Wu Bai and Appledog, and Go Go squid focuses on the relationship between Gun (Han Sangyang) and Tong Nian. They happen almost at the same time in the novels.
The problem with these two dramas is that GGS1 was based entirely on book 3 while borrowing all the back story from book 2, which is DT and Appledog focused. And they made the old generation older than what they were supposed to be, for example they made Appledog the same age as the boys (Gun and Solo), when she was at least 4 years younger than them. So they had to change the casting in GGS2, because GGS1 Appledog was too old for Wu Bai. I guess that when they made the first drama, they didn't think the universe would get so popular to warrant another drama based on it.
And another difference is that in the novels, it's all about esports, but since it can't be depicted in China, they used cyber attacks in GGS1 and robots in GGS2.
Thanks to people who kept crying why they changed cast, story.
The perfect thing would have been to just have one drama based on all the novels, with correct casting and storyline from the start. But since this didn't happen, well I'm happy with what we got. I never thought I'd love this as much as I did, but here I am.. on my second watch already, lol.
This drama was based on the second novel and Yaya wasn't even a character on the third one, the one GGS1 is based…
Yeah, I know, I thought they might have her show up at some point, but since she was related to Tong Nian, and she was only a guest star, they couldn't add her to the story. I also liked her romance with Xiao Mi.
Thanks to people who kept crying why they changed cast, story.
I blame bad marketing for that as well. Why even have Go Go squid 2 in the title? It makes people think it's a sequel when it's not. To me, this drama was far superior and it's a shame that so many people don't even give it a chance because they're stuck on GGS1 for sentimental reasons.
The one issue I have is how they basically downgraded Xiao Mi's role... what happened to Sun Yaya? They were so…
This drama was based on the second novel and Yaya wasn't even a character on the third one, the one GGS1 is based on. She's a completely made up drama character.
