You should just download the epub of the books in the order I gave you above, then it's less confusing. I don't read them online, I downloaded them, finished book 1 which is quite small, today I finished book 2 and I'm so satisfied, it was good!
Book 1 is like an introduction of their backgrounds, how they met, and their first interactions. Book 2 is almost five times as big and among their individual stories and all the other characters, it's all about how they became a couple. The drama has made changes enough for me to still be curious about it because I don't know what they will keep and what they will change - so far they've changed a lot, but not in a bad way, I like the drama version equally. They are both a lot younger in the novels, DT started liking her at 12 (?! lol). And when they become a couple she's 25 and he's 22. You should try reading them, it's a pleasant read and it's nice to see how smitten DT was with her for so many years.
Just finished episode 17 and I don't know what to do with all these feelings! I got goosebumps and butterflies, oh my god. I'm so in love with this drama.

I just finished the first novel and it's official: Wu Bai is my favourite character in this universe, I don't have words to express how much I love him.
I also rewatched GoGo squid, which I definitely loved, but the rewach only solidified the fact that I love this drama wayyy more. Because I don't have to skip absolutely anything here, whereas in GoGo squid, I had to fast forward all the endless flashback scenes that were thrown in at random times. I feel like that drama suffered greatly in terms of editing, whereas here, I don't get bored, everything happens when should be. And I like the casting more.
