Jeon Do Yeon:

“I had decided that even if it took a long time to find a good project, I would avoid content that was too dark or heavy. But when I read this script, I decided that I would take it on, even if it was dark, because it was about trying to find the light. I cried a lot when I first read the script. I got a lot of questions from the people around me. ‘Can Jeon Do Yeon really pull off a story about someone who hasn’t been able to become anything in her life?’ But somehow I could really relate to Boo Jung’s feelings.”

"Boo Jung is someone who is tightly closed off, so I worried a lot about how she would open up through the course of the drama. I really worked hard in order to understand the character of Boo Jung. But as filming went on, as time went on, regardless of the work I put in or not, her heart opened to Kang Jae of its own accord. I opened up to Ryu Jun Yeol in the same way as Boo Jung did to Kang Jae. I personally would like it if the viewers went in to the story not knowing anything about Boo Jung. There are people in our lives that we might know without really knowing them. It would be nice if they just watched over her and cheered her on."

Ryu Jun Yeol:

“The script was good, but I really wanted to join the project because I would be working with director Heo Jin Ho and writer Kim Ji Hye. I begged them to use me. It was really easy to decide on the project. My character’s story in this drama is also about youth, but it’s different from the ones that I’ve done until now. Before now, I played coming-of-age stories, but Kang Jae loses his way after he starts to doubt whether what he thought was the right answer for him was wrong all along. I wanted to show a new side of youth, the kind of loneliness and bitterness that comes when you’ve lost your way.”

“I think it’s relatability. We talk a lot about the two main characters’ stories, but there are other stories in the drama that are really interesting. There are lots of diverse characters, but I want to emphasize that they are all ‘ordinary.’ That’s the important focus of the drama.”

His story is clear by the way. You don't have to have something grand happened in past to be depressed or feel a failure.

He comes from a broken family, lost father, mother is loving but careless and moved on, he doesn't care and understand, but he is on a path of wilderness, and has this sense of fading away with time... he wants to collect himself, save himself from the destruction happening inside him...but he is too tired to do so...he thinks, he ponders, and he hesitate before going abyss. But he still walks ind darkness, knowing the circumstances, as if he doesn't have any direction as of yet.

I can feel him... and so far, there is nothing grandeur behind his story... and he is suffering from depression, and surprising he doesn't know it.

it is not that entirely you know. It is not a revenge plot... it is a journey of people gathering and collecting their scattered souls, hurt by others, but more importantly dessapointed with themselves.

It will not explicit or anything showy... it will be ML helping FL to some sort of revenge or they will be helping each other healing their wounds. ML will like her, but they will not hvae romantic arc. There might not be a confession. But we will know they have feelings.

we know there is a story behind it, as in episode 1, he had a flashback of someone cutting a wrist, and stuff...but even that was not something he could not tell her. Like I said, even if his parents were dying, or even if she was dying, the fucker had no right not to tell her what he did why he did.

No explanation, no justification, and no apologies are accepted. Period. You wanna break up engagement, or even wedding, - give a reason and fuck off. Who needs you.

I fucking hate this kind of mental torture for FL. Even though she has moved on and doesn't seem to care. The fucker BF didn't gave her a reason. No reason on earth can be more important to break engagement on the day even if he was dying, his parents was dying or he was being forced to do so. What the Fuck man... give her a reason. Him being happy my blood boils.

I don't want to be cynical and bring up this topic like others, but you have to admit, this is not right. Even I fully support actor for his choices and reasons whatever they are. But as a watcher, I hope to see what should be there. As I said earlier, it is my prejudice, and like common people I am annoyed.

I would prefer the noun "they".

Also if I do watch, I don't actually have to watch prequel. Because I don't like historical series, I know I might have some difficulty understanding the past characters, but as long as it is not a continuation, rather incarceration with different setting, I would be alright. Please suggest.

I watch dramas all the time where kisses and intimacy does not need to be done to have interest in story. But having in my mind that actor has refused to do such scenes, for unknown reasons, my prejudice stopping me from watching this. Incautiously it is settled in my mind that the actor should stay away from such roles, if he has this rule.

I know drama is good, story is good but this thing of his, has seriously putt me off, and because of this, I haven’t watch anything from the actor. What should I do?

Omg that MIL. Thank God I am raised in a household where such character doesn't exist. Asian household can be too nosy but her MIL is too much... But I have seen ladies like her in real life as well. Who destroy their children's home. I mean she is effing nuts man. Her hair looks like as if she ran from some mental asylum.

As fas as I know now and having read the book years ago and after watching 2 epsiodes, it is not similar. However, it shares same elements of despair, depression and tragedy. And title is same as well.

But book, is written in "I" where writer talks about his life only and his interactions, writer is not innocent, his depression and subsequent suicide in real life, is really tragic.

Both lead actors are likeable they haven't done any negative roles.

Which actor you don't like?

The strongest pilot in terms of writing and acting. I drool over visuals and music. I watched when it had just came out a second. And just now revisited again. And it is art. Dream sequences, tough outwards and broken and sharttered inwards.

I wish I was a part of this cast it was "dis dam" (Golden Girls) good.

HDS is giving me red flags as if he has limited time on earth. That is why he is doing all he can to live the fullest.

While FL is falling for him, he will reject her even though he loves her because of this and SML arrives and he will come back to take his girl.

I think the story is going this way. Anyone else feels it?
