Although I wanted them to, I really don't mind that the two leads didn't get back together because I understand that it's cliche already. But, really, that was it between Eiji and the controlling wife? No redemption arc for her? I'm utterly dissatisfied, lol.
I'll say this again, this guy is no doubt the best actor of his generation. He now got a Baeksang Best Actor award for both TV and Film. What a legend!
There seems to be a commotion happening in the Sweet Home page after an AIB fan started to compare the two series. Although I understand the point, but I suggest we keep our opinions here instead, since people here are more open to discussions. Besides, some people seem to be only looking for reasons to not watch AIB. Let's not give them that.
It is performing really solid across Western non-English speaking viewers. It has mostly hoovered around place…
I think what we can deduce from these data is that non-English speaking viewers are more open to exploring new content , whereas english-speaking viewers only rely on what is already a trend, which, in our present context, korean series and movies. We can safely say trends start in non-english speaking countries, and we can only hope that the AIB trend also reaches the US, UK, Australia shores soon enough.
Hmm it's okay if it didn't stand out to you. There is a reason why series become popular. It is either a lot of…
I think we have the same definition of a masterpiece, and I agree with you, this story is nothing we haven't seen before. In that case, I highly recommend that you watch Signal if you still haven't because its plot is really unique.
What do you mean? he is listed as one of the highest paid Actor(male) in korea XD, he is not that popular internationally…
Never did I invalidate other actors. They're good, but I just think that someone is better than them. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to his Hellbound project. There might be a big chance it'll be a hit since it will be shown in Netflix, plus it's a thriller, so hoping it will be as loved as Kingdom.

I'm aware of everything you said. Yes, he's one of the top-paid, but he's like 7th, so there are those higher paid than him, and I meant it when I said that he's better than most of them. I believe he deserves more international appreciation.
I finished the drama and I admit it is one of the good ones. But higher ratings than Signal, My Mister or Reply…
That is because this drama has a bigger reach with it having been broadcasted real-time in Netflix. Also, the cast, especially KSH has a huge following. That's it. No special explanation.
You are absolutely right, especially the part where you mentioned KSH's Moon Kang Tae and Do Min Joon characters being similar in nature. In fact, it's not just those two characters, but the plot of those two dramas in general. See, the strong female lead who had a problematic childhood, taking interest in a guy (who turned out she had past connections with) who didn't want to forge temporary connections and get involved with other people because he will have to leave them later anyway. Don't even mention all the MLFTS scenes they referenced in IOTNBO.
I'm a fan of KSH, but I'm also a film enthusiast at the same time, so I'd say I'm open-minded in critiquing his works. My friends in the fandom would hate me for saying this, but I was disappointed in him having chosen this project. It was obvious he was going the safe route since he just got back from the military. With IOTNBO having the same formula as MLFTS, it meant another commercial success for him. It was, indeed, a wise business decision, but as a fan, I would like him to challenge himself, better, and choose his future projects using his artistic sense. IOTNBO would have been a good drama if we were still in 2014, but alas, it's now 2020, so this is no longer a unique offering, nothing we haven't seen before.
You completely took the words out of my mouth. Masterpieces like CT usually gather the mature and respectful fans,…
Hahahha yes. I just roll my eyes at other dramas out there where they're supposed to teach people to be kind, yet fans are acting toxic. To call those kinds a "masterpiece" is a big question mark to me. I'm just glad that is not the case here.
