On The Dream Life of Mr. Kim Nov 30, 2025
i have never wanted happiness for a character more than i did kim naksu. this series was gutting and real, which is why i think a lot of people gave up on it midway, because it doesn’t offer the instant gratification we look for in dramas.

ryu seung ryong better win some awards for this spectacular performance!!! he was able to embody not only the firsthand experience of a middle-age crisis but also the secondhand experience surrounding it. how his built-up regrets and unspoken pride affected his wife and son was such an authentic portrayal that i have yet to see in media.

this drama isn’t about what people do with their feelings; it’s about what happens to people when they feel them. it captures the raw emotions they move through and the small, ordinary moments in a life that’s slowly coming undone. the feelings aren’t a tool to drive the plot forward — the unraveling itself is the plot, and that’s exactly what sets this drama apart from the rest.

this was a beautiful run 😞 i really saw a piece of my life in every episode. goodbye mr kim ☹️

THAT BROTHER IN LAW IS THE SPAWN OF DEVIL. he was good comedic relief for like 2 episodes but I think naksu genuinely…
I can’t wait for her older sister to succeed and look down on her. she needs a taste of her own medicine lmfaoo

I could just copy and paste what I wrote last week... !!!! I CANNOT STAND MR KIM AS EPITOMY OF STUPIDITY COWARDICE…
everyone wants complex character until we get a real complex, flawed character 🥲 he’s trying and obviously the plot is based off his character development. from episode 1 to 10, I agree mr kim has stayed stagnant in many aspects (believing he knows best, keeping secrets from his wife, handling all things alone) — but through it all, there have been obvious signs of growth. Growth is non linear, and so is change. this is a very realistic telling of a man that’s fallen victim to his own actions and clearly made some mistakes, but to brand him a total complete dumb loser is not fair. after watching episode 10, I think some character arcs have begun to show more!!

in episode 1, he would have never confided in a psychiatrist nor try to have a genuine conversation with his brother. while I see his character is flawed, I think that maybe the point. his character is very real and it takes time to change. I think episode 11 and 12 will wrap things up nicely (I hope) and show more of a time jump where he has unlearned his damaging habits and ways of thinking.

if you think of the series in a new light you may enjoy it more!!

I think I’d know if my husband took out a 500k loan and used up his severance to buy property- does the wife…
THAT BROTHER IN LAW IS THE SPAWN OF DEVIL. he was good comedic relief for like 2 episodes but I think naksu genuinely dodged a bullet by not taking the offer of a position at his company. he would have disrespected naksu and his skillset and masked it by offering “a better salary”. naksu has been through a lot these past episodes but at least he put a quick end to being disrespected by that brother in law!!! the younger sister is such a ditz. the fact that she sees no wrong in her husbands doing is so genuinely awful. I hope the company gets screwed over by ACT

the people who didn’t give this a chance missed out on this gem 😭 truly a painfully accurate reflection of how life works. naksu’s character resembles pieces of my life and my dad in a way I wouldn’t see in other media. I feel so so seen and I am so excited to see how his character arc completes next week!!

i love Jung So-min but what's she actually doing here. im just not impressed with her acting at all. she was so…
and the chemistry (w choi wooshik) was there for the first few episodes but I’m not buying it for the later episodes… I think the point is that they’re both still shy w eachother that’s why they’re so polite, but all of their interactions feel like daily conversations rather than an actively developing romance. i’m not one to complain about kiss scenes but for the sake of my argument i also need to point out how they just smack lips onto eachother !!!! there is no active chemistry, let alone passive chemistry. I hope they do something with the second leads soon. they seem to have a better shot at giving me the romcom i hoped for 🥲 I’m so sad especially since i love the lead actors so much

u sound very incompassionate. domestic violence is a big issue, and for you to call an entire episode surrounding…
i did take a look at your profile before i sent my comment. most of what you’ve dropped, i would consider “slow,” which is why i assumed you might not enjoy slower-paced storytelling. I apologise if my wording came off snarky

anyway, disliking slower paced dramas is completely fine. you’re entitled to enjoy whatever resonates with you. however, i think it’s a bit tone deaf to make such harsh comments about a show that deals with such a sensitive topic

the first episode serves to introduce the characters. like eunsu and her history with domestic violence, as well as the various affairs of abuse she encounters. the pacing and structure are intentional, reflecting the weight of those realities. it was frustrating to see someone describe it in such harsh terms!

while you may have found it “boring” or “unnecessary,” this story mirrors the real experiences of many people. what bothered me wasn’t that you didn’t enjoy episode one, but rather the way you chose to express that opinion, especially about a narrative built around such painful and important themes

like I said before, your taste is your own. even tho you feel no reason to continue, your phrasing comes off quite incompassionate. i think that when a story deals with heavy topics like abuse, it deserves a bit more sensitivity, even if it’s not everyone’s taste

The ep1 is boring. Meaningless, unnecessary. I'm not at all curious about what will happen in the next episodes.…
u sound very incompassionate. domestic violence is a big issue, and for you to call an entire episode surrounding such a topic "boring" is unbelievably weird to me. just say you dont have the attention span to sit through slow dramas

why Marco has same name in every filipino dramas?
because all those dramas are set in the same universe! all the supporting characters are the same and have their own stories, marco's one is "rain in espana" with the character Luna. Avi and Larkin are also the same in their story. If you decide to watch all the series, youll spot loads of easter eggs hahah

i dont mean to be mean but i think ur taking this too seriously 😭 i made this quiz with new kdrama watchers in mind who have only watched main stream shows that rose to fame through tiktok and stuff. in my opinion these shows are all really underrated in comparison to popular shows like business proposal, lovely runner, squid game and aouad. i dont see them recommended much.

im not sure why u got aoy either hahahha but at least ur answers took u to a result u already like
