Wrote this for a YouTube comment so Iām just reposting it here if anyone is bored and wants to read this: (basically someone was saying that the writing of the show was poor because Porsche seems otherwise very confident in himself but looks insecure when he is with Kinn, so this was what I wrote in response)
For Porscheās personality, I would like to argue that he is a character who is self-assured in light-hearted situations. Itās more so that he is proud, and a bit reckless, and I believe that he flaunts that as a way to conceal his weaknesses. In more serious situations, you can immediately sense the shift in his composure. This was first seen when Kinn visited the bar to take him away (quickly revealing his unease, and sense of being threatened), then later with the apple on his head. In fact itās exactly in that scene that we see the interesting persona of Porsche. When he puts the apple on his head, his smile fades but he mostly remains poker faced, standing still and mostly expressionless. Yet, the moment that he leaves the room to go to the mini kitchen(?), his legs buckle, his hands are trembling and he struggles to light a cigarette (showcasing his nerves). Probably because he is the breadwinner of the family and has to protect his brother, he has learned the art of pretense where he seems to be strong, and unaffected, but is actually quite a sensitive guy in general. This sensitivity is also shown in other ways, such as his trusting demeanour. Heās kind of the opposite of Kim in a way (who is somewhat cynical, attentive and doesnāt believe just what he sees, he needs clear evidence and carefully observes). Porsche is a lot more carefree and naive in that sense. He believes people (seen through Vegas in particular with how he believes that V treats his bodyguards like family and is a āwarmā person). That does put him at risk as weāve seen (like letting his guard down completely and getting super drunk in front of Vegas no less, even with Kinnās warnings and even after seeing the guy torture someone).
However, itās also what allows him to be so loving and openly emotional in serious circumstances. Someone who is sceptical isnāt as easily swayed, but Porsche is not like that. He is a āliving-in-the-momentā type of person who truly feels everything and powerfully (and itās expressed through his playfulness and the way he parties as if there is no tomorrow, same with drinking). In the episode where he was drugged, the aftermath of the events definitely showed us more of that sensitive, raw, and serious side of Porsche. Thatās also why I think he may appear needy in some ways, because he loves sincerely and he wants to be loved as strongly in turn. As mentioned previously, heās always had to be the strong protector in place of his parents, so I believe that Kinn is also someone he likes to rely on because he can finally be vulnerable and feels taken care of, which is new to him, unlike in the past. As someone else mentioned on here, I would also agree that rather than completely immature, I think that the love between Kinn and Porsche is messy and itās mostly due to external circumstances affecting their judgement, actions and feelings.
The bigger proof of this is the existence of episode 6 where Kinn and Porsche are stranded in the forest. Kinn does not have to think and act based on his duties, his father isnāt there to influence him nor anyone else. Porsche doesnāt have to worry about his position either, or his brother. Itās just the two of them, alone, as themselves. And we see through that episode how they are capable of mature, healthy communication, how they prioritise each otherās happiness and well-being. The issue is when they are thrusted back into the mafia world, where toxicities and insecurities lie. The environment itself triggers Kinnās trauma and fears, and because of that, it also affects Porsche, who does not understand the complexities of Kinnās responsibilities and the larger mafia world and its structure (relating back to that idea of him taking things at face value). So I believe that in the next episodes, all these different challenges will manifest in different ways, which Kinn and Porsche will have to overcome and grow from in order to preserve their love. At the end of the day, I like how realistic the relationship is in a way, flawed but striving to develop and bloom. I think that we will eventually get there.

Despite being completely aware of how demented Vegas is, I just canāt help but feel sorry for him for some reason. Maybe itās the way Bible portrays this character. Maybe itās because I feel like all his schemes are just a desperate plea for someone to take notice of him and love him. Maybe itās because I sense a gentleness in this psychopathic, twisted guy that he appears to be. Maybe itās because heās so damaged himself so he can only damage others in return. Iām not sure. Itās a bit similar to how I felt hurt for and even protective over Black from Not Me, even though in many ways, he is quite a ruthless, detestable character. I seem to gravitate toward these eerily flawed, misunderstood, and vulnerable characters.
When he said that, I was thinking that maybe Kim would rethink about that line in the future, afraid perhaps that…
I would love that, Iām also curious to see how Kim would react to Chay speaking up. Also, getting to see how Porsche will feel about Kim approaching Chayā¦all very interesting scenes to imagine. I remember that there was this brief moment in the trailer where Chay cries whilst staring at his phone. As I havenāt read the book, some ideas I thought of were: 1. Kim apologises and explains everything in a video 2. Itās a clip of Porsche getting hurt as a bodyguard or smth else and Chay sees it for the first time 3. Itās a goodbye from either Porsche or Kim (most likely Kim if anything) which sort of ties in with the first idea 4. Heās just watching a performance of Kim that he liked after the reveal because heās trying to cope
I can't blame Kinn for thinking Porsche hooked up with Vegas. He was jealous the whole time and Pete gave him…
Which is why I also want to see whether or not we will see Kinn and Porsche clarify the whole situation next ep, even if just briefly. It does need to be resolved afterall, especially with Kinnās issues with trust. Then again, given what transpired, what Porsche says can easily sound like an excuse. Iām curious as to how the series will (possibly) handle it
When Che answered Kim about the person he liked, the last thing Che said was, "He's a very nice person." I wonder…
When he said that, I was thinking that maybe Kim would rethink about that line in the future, afraid perhaps that Chay will not like him anymore once he finds out the truth, smth like that?
I just dont care if they change storyline for vegaspete. I just want to see them. Thats it. Only 7 ep left.
Given how they made Kinn more sensible in the series (from what I heard), Iām wondering if they really will incorporate some new elements to VegasPete. Maybe Pete will be more resilient and communicative, and Vegas less..domineering/sadistic? Idk i havenāt read the book
Why does Pete seem like that person who will start shipping the kpop idol while they barely look at eachother.https://twitter.com/nattawinbff/status/1528325825216454657?t=EgD8G-GuM8eDuJWdfMmhTQ&s=19
Who would you say is the most guarded out of Thankun, Kinn and Kim (emotionally)? In order i would say:
1. Kim (i still think he wont easily open up to chay even though he's actually more fond of him than i expected him to be at this stage) 2. Thankun (even though he seems approachable, or unapproachable depending on how you see it, i'd say he is really good at hiding his game when it comes to what he truly thinks and feels. Depending on how they continue to build his character in the series, he might even be more mysterious in some ways than Kim but given that he has been shown to be quite light-hearted then i've still put Kim first. Esp given how consciously and meticulously planned Kim is) 3. Kinn (definitely on guard as well, as we saw last ep but more as a defense mechanism than anything. He's more rough and raw, still letting people affect him emotionally despite himself. I think that even with his tough guy demeanor, he's needy and wants to let people in his heart. Which is more evidently seen than with the other two brothers who are more composed. Which is strange to say about Thankun given how he is lol)
