This is really just about taste (though it's true that at the time, we had some crashings with other airing dramas), I've watched both dramas you mentioned and I don't find any of them as good as this one...

Just watched the two first episodes and I have to say this drama is lovely and so fun to watch! ML is an ambitious and calm gentleman and FL is the cutest and nicest girl in town.

Absolutely! The music they've been playing is very suitable for each moment and the songs are so nice to hear. Also, there're some of my favorite Chinese singers like Xueran Chen and Zhou Chen, so nice to listen to their voices in such deep songs.

This is indeed a strong, powerful, and heartwrenching love story. But as many of my fellow IS fans have said this is more focused on the character growth of the main couple and the process of understanding each other. If you want a lot of romantic scenes and skinship, this may not be for you. Maybe you should give a try to a few episodes and then decide whether to continue or not.

New rumor: Set to air in December. It'd be great if it's true, especially since it's winter :3
Anyway, I don't believe this rumor, since some other Youku dramas like Legend of Anle and even Till the end of the moon have consistent rumors about airing these days.
Also, even if SWKMM doesn't air this year, it isn't all bad. This year we got like three CY dramas, so it's also nice to have a good amount for next year and yk avoid CY's drought.
