Guys, I'm still so sad that up to this point we haven't gotten official subs. I've watched some shorts, and as expected it looks fascinating, going to wait with pain until the subs arrive T_T
I don't know, from the line the story has developed until now, I think it's not even some kind of illness. Since…
I think the first scene in the first episode may be the fantasy you're looking for. Sadly, as I already said, these kinds of plots are banned in China, so they can only give us some clues. The same thing happened with One and Only and Forever and Ever, it was kinda frustrating at the beginning, but I bear it with all the details and references to their past life.
That's it! But the way she and her family also blamed him when his acts were all acts of a sick person is also…
I was worried about him recovering his memories because many people said he was being a jerk, and I was like: but, but he isn't that type of person. I'm kind of sad that Ming Wei forgot all the good things MTZ did for her while they were shooting their drama, I know it's because she must feel like MTZ killed GT, but it's still a very sad thing. I think FL and her family should have given him more time to adjust to all that was happening.
I need to say this: the drama says his illness is amnesia but I don't buy it. He didn't just forget all his life,…
I don't know, from the line the story has developed until now, I think it's not even some kind of illness. Since they are going for "MTZ and Grand tutor are the same person" and "Ming Hua and Ming Wei are one too" (there's even one poster with a mirror showing that), these modern characters have to be some kind of reincarnation of Grand Tutor and Ming Hua, and since these two characters had a tragic love story, they got a chance in modern life to finally get their happily ever after (Like One and Only and Forever and Ever story). Even Xiao Zhao said they must have had a sad relationship in a past lifetime, so that's why in this life they're entangled together, and also when Grand Tutor said he was here to make up for his regrets. China has censorship for reincarnation plots, so I guess that's why they can't directly say they were MG and GT in their past lives.
I think it would be interesting if ML doesn't get his memories back and we get to see how Mu Ting Zhou would fall…
I mean he liked her in the beginning too. I'm pretty sure that if the accident didn't happen, he would have pursued her as any normal person in love would
I just want to highlight the OST, it was soooo good. "Someone liking someone", "The Luckiest Fortune" and "Oath of Love" sung by Yang Zi and Xiao Zhan must be the sweetest, nicest, and most relaxing songs I've ever heard, and the lyrics are so touching and hit so close to ordinary life. The rest of the songs and the background music were amazing and very proper for each moment in the drama. LOVED IT.
It should be illegal to make someone cry as much as I did in the last episodes. I didn't expect to like this drama this much, it was such a nice, calm, and slice of life experience. Gonna miss Gu Wei and Xiao Xiao a lot.
Enjoyed the subtle romance in glances, micro gestures and cried buckets at the heart-wrenching scenes. However…
- I'm afraid the SML would have had killed ZSC anyway. For the SML, he was a total threat in all regards. - When she was no longer obligated to marry him by the Emperor's order. Shi Yi didn't have any good reason to actually accept him at that time. She didn't even see him as a threat because of his apparent lack of power in the court. It's for that reason that one of the heartbreaking things is that both ZSC and SY underestimated the scheming power of SML a lot. They didn't have a clue about everything he was doing behind their backs until the last episodes when he showed his true face. - SML was way too obsessive over the crown and Shi Yi. He should've let her go. - ZSC was extremely devoted to his country and people. He could've left that horrible place with Shi Yi's family and served the other emperor in the South, I think he would have appreciated him a lot. Or even best, just usurp the throne as everybody expected him to do, make Shi Yi his empress, and rule over the empire with the beautiful bones he possesses. But you know, sometimes life is very unfair.
Whelp, just read the damn description on iQiyi and completely spoilt myself...Just....Really?!!?!?!
Recommendation (Learnt it the hard way) never read the synopsis, I don't know why but Chinese drama synopsizes are more like summaries. If you want to know what a drama is about, it's better to check the trailers.
Four episodes, and I'm liking this so far. I love the historical and modern drama mix, very proper and beautifully filmed. Am I the only one who gets kind of One and Only vibes from the historical part? Like the snow, the master and disciple relationship, country welfare over love... I guess that's why the scenes hurt more than they should have.
I was scared about them going back to real life/present because I thought it would lower this drama’s quality, but they executed everything so well. Looking forward to more episodes of this masterpiece.
