This might be a bit of a hot take but I feel like the majority of viewers who see main leads relationship as 'romantic…
I posted a rant about this a few weeks ago haha. Most dramas are filmed with the girls being the one chasing after the guy or an ex girlfriend who can't get over a guy and keeps popping up and obsessing over him. When a girl does it she gets labeled as "crazy" and "clinger" but when a guy does it its romantic all of a sudden and he's too good for her.

Actively pursing someone who has made it clear they don't want to be pursued and keeps telling you to move on is not romantic. Its unhealthy. Regardless if we know she's hiding her true feelings. This just encourages people that you should keep chasing after someone even if they say no, please stop.

At this point she should be the one apologizing and chasing after him. I don't know how many times she has to be a b**** to this guy for him to finally say screw it and move on. I thought we got to that point a few episodes ago but nope, back at square one with him not letting go of her.

Overall episode 12 wasn't all that necessary. After already hearing her backstory from the supporting cast I don't think we needed an entire episode dedicated to it. We didn't need the phone call with her mom. We didn't really need to see her failed interview in detail. We didn't need to see her eat an entire pot of noodles. I feel like her scenes were all filmed in slow-mo because they were trying to highlight how boring she was but it left me bored watching it. All they needed to show was her walking in on the guy and getting dumped brutally, her getting turned down in favor of the other girl and her showing up at the beach and getting the job. We didn't really need anything more than them quickly showing us the main details/events. They say the devil is in the details but I think this show focuses too much on details that just don't really add anything interesting to the story. The worst part is, we know how this show will likely end and we most likely will have to hear her spend half an episode retelling the ML everything that happened before she arrived at the beach to explain herself. Cant wait.

I am happy we finally got an episode that had the gym teacher being focused on again. She's my favorite character and they've left her out the past few episodes. Episode 12 definitely ended on an interesting note so hopefully we will get back on track. I just want no more flashbacks and the show to fully take place in the present. I think we've officially seen all we need of the past to fully understand.

This show is finally starting to get good. We understand now to a certain degree the FL's actions. At first the show was the guy chasing the girl but she's gonna have to do the chasing now. Its going to be interesting to see what she does because she's been running from everything and everyone since the beginning.

With the latest episode (Ep. 10) I will say things seem to kind of be looking up but the way it ended I also feel like we are back to square one. Ep. 10 was the first episode I really enjoyed in awhile though and it finally starting shedding some more light on the characters. I just think this show is honestly more filler than drama. It's not completely awful and I'll keep sticking with it for now but the way they started the show and the way they ended up filming most of it was a disappointment. I understand the side characters are interacting in real time more so we are losing that documentary feel but it kind of sucks. I thought the start of the show and documentary style was really unique and a fresh take on a K-drama. I am just waiting for the gym teacher/athletic girl to weave her way back in. She's my favorite.

Perhaps she really doesn't want to have a relationship with him, but is more concerned about her happy little…
Have you watched the latest episode? I'm not going to spoil anything but I will say it begins to address some background. We are on episode 10 though so I feel similar to everyone else in saying this series really did not need 16 episodes but we know Netflix K-dramas have to be 16 or the apocalypse might come. I am starting to have the tiniest amount of hope that this show can be saved and end on a good note.

I mean... if you take away the whole "I paid a hospital to tell you you have cancer even though you don't just to force you to sign a marriage contract to me because I'm obsessed with you and you don't know me" part its kind of cute.

Her finding the ring was cute but anyone with half a brain knew she wasn't over him either. It wasn't shocking she still had hers at all. I feel like the writers think we are idiots. Neither one of them are over each other, I genuinely do not understand the point/plot of this drama. I'm waiting for a flashback or something else to show me why she is so scared to just admit she wanted a carefree summer and be someone else for two months. She mentioned she didn't want him to see her stupid past in this episode while they were at the police station so maybe there's some other stuff we don't know about. I hope so because idk how they are going to extend this out over 7 more episodes. Its getting painful to watch.

At this point the flashbacks are just fillers. I get they are trying to signify how beautiful their summer was together but we get it, they had a carefree and beautiful time together. This is like Naruto and his freaking swing of misery. I don't need to be shown it in different contexts twenty times to get the point.

I'm going to keep watching this drama because it finally left us with a good cliffhanger but here's my main issue with this show:

In a romantic K-drama you need a ML or FL to swoon over. We want to fall in love with one of the leads or both. This issue with this drama is neither character at this point is swoon worthy and we are eight episodes in. Both the ML and FL are extremely frustrating at this point and their behavior is just unhealthy and not attractive. The FL started off seeming cool and different from other dramas but now its just a dud and her behavior just makes no sense (though we all know she also isn't over him and just scared that he will see the real her and not like her).

It started out really cool with the interviews and side characters and the beach scenes but now we don't really see the side characters so its just these two baboons making themselves look worse and worse each episode. The last episode finally left us with a good cliffhanger but the past 3/4 episodes have kind of just been.... leading up to this moment in the most boring way. The characters I want to see the most are the athletic teacher and Minho at this point because they have fun personalities and save this show from completely dull/predictable characters. The couple and that "single cause i want to be" guy are just meh now and don't do anything besides serve as people who know the girl but don't know she's the one the ML is talking about. This show honestly started out really good and had a thickening plot but not anymore. The fact we are 8 episodes in and I feel like we can already predict the ending but are somehow going to drag it out over 8 more episodes is not giving me much hope. I'm giving this show one or two more episodes to change my mind because of my love for Minho.

Some people will say I'm being too harsh but the point of a good K-drama romcom is one of the leads needs to be appealing so you can root for them. At this point I have little interest in either one and that's a problem for me because we don't see enough of the interesting side characters to make up for it.
