For the first time I dropped a show after the 21st episode when they get together, I just felt the was no enough…
Yeah, I just finished episode 29 and to be honest... there's really nothing happening anymore and hasn't been for awhile. Sure they are very cute and whatnot in their bubble of love but there isn't really a plot anymore outside of balancing their work and love life. If you love the actor and actress or ship them its great but in terms of wanting to watch the drama for a plot it really isn't a great show. A cute watch but... idk i can see why many people have dropped.

I would like to know what phone this female character has because she quite literally never charges it and can play games on it all day and it never dies. I accidently slept with my phone off the charger and woke up with it at 20% today. Meanwhile, she sleeps with it off the charger every single night and somehow it never dies.

Technology has surely come a long way.

Just finished episode 39 with six left. I haven't binged a cdrama this fast in a very long time. Easily one of the best modern day cdramas I've seen and I never really watch military dramas.

I will say I'm a little... iffy on how this is about to end. I'm hoping the last five don't drag out too much.
On Who Rules the World May 15, 2022
Episodes 21-26 are easily my favorite so far, I found myself laughing out loud at the romcom we were getting. These comments have me a little worried about what my expectations should be going forward though…
I'm on episode 19 and starting to get a bit disinterested. I really liked the first 12 or so episodes but now I feel like there are some plots I don't really care about and are dragged out a bit, and we are starting to get a lot of questions with no real progress to the answers.

Does it pick back up again? I think it's mainly because they are off the mountain right now and I don't really enjoy the plots they've done during this training period, so I wonder if it'll go back to being more enjoyable when this part of the show passes?

They go through time in this show pretty quickly so maybe I need to just get through these next few episodes...

They start shoot in january 2021
So most definitely cold! They are truly professionals I would be stuttering haha.
On Who Rules the World May 5, 2022
This is random but does anyone know if this was filmed in the winter or somewhere cold year-round? There are some scenes where even when characters are inside a building you can see their breath as they are talking.

I'm impressed it's cold enough to see their breathing, but they aren't shaking or don't look like they have goosebumps. Maybe those robes are a lot warmer than I'm imagining though?

Title Our Blues
I'm considering watching this but i'm not sure if i'm gonna like it even though I loved hometown cha cha cha
Outside of being filmed at the beach this show has little in come with hometown to be honest. Hometown addressed some serious stuff but was still very light and comedic and a cute romantic watch throughout. This show addresses living at the beach a LOT more realistically than hometown did. You really see the daily lives and struggles of people who work there whereas hometown wasn't very realistic at all. A typical rich city person moves to the country and finds a country bumpkin and everyone ends up accepting her and cute happy ending.

This one is realistic to the point a lot of people don't like the characters in this show. It's very mundane and slow and the characters have very real issues that aren't glamorized. Hometown kind of made you love everyone despite their flaws, this show doesn't. It's pretty brutal in how people are shown and not all the couples being shown are necessarily romantic either.

If you want a cute beach drama, I honestly will say don't watch this. There will be some sweet moments in this one but most of the drama is slice of life and super realistic which for a lot of people is boring to watch and not what they were hoping for.

Title Our Blues
i feel like its not just the setting, but the timing and the fact that the female lead is the same actress
There are several female leads. This isn't about one story but many weaved into one another. And this isn't a romance comedy, it's a lot more serious. Hometown had some serious topics but this one all in all has a much more somber feel to it. If this was a romcom about one couple I would agree but because it's not I don't see the connection.

Just because two shows are filmed in coastal towns doesn't mean they are similar, please stop comparing this show to Hometown.

That being said, I really wish more k-dramas highlighted coastal life in SK. I love getting more insight (though not always realistic) into the coastal regions of SK since most k-dramas are filmed and focused on Seoul. As someone who grew up by the beach these shows always make me nostalgic. Also, watching city focused dramas gets repetitive whereas the beach ones show a different lifestyle. Hopefully more k-dramas will start getting out of the big city narrative and into the country and coast.

Title Our Blues
Some very mild (by Korean drama standards) verbal bullying on a bus.
Thanks! Should be fine then, I know from the preview's things will get more physical and I hate watching that stuff without warning.

Is there any severe bullying in episode one or just the run of the mill picking on people? I need to know what to fast forward through haha

It's more like birthcare center meets highclass and reflection of you
Thanks!

I give this show a solid 7.5

It's a light and fun watch if you don't take it seriously and ignore the serious red flags of the main couple. The side characters were amazing, and I truthfully only watched the entire show for them. This is a somewhat unique kdrama but still falls into some traditional cliches.

" Two people first meet when they are 22 and 18 years old and fall in love years later when they turn 25 and 21."I…
Fan feedback is important but its also important to note when sometimes people view dramas through very specific lenses which doesn't allow them to see the whole picture.

For example on the drama 39 a lot of the younger audience dropped it saying its boring BUT older audiences love it. Which obviously makes sense, the target audience of that drama was the mature crowd who can related to people in their thirties. A lot of people are looking at this drama only through the romance lens which I think is somewhat a disservice to the drama because there are so many things this drama highlights besides romantic love. So yeah fan input is important but if fans had their way this drama would only be about the main couple and them living happily ever after which would change the drama entirely. I think the power of this drama is how realistic it is. So many dramas I watch are so unrealistic and I love that because we all need an escape from reality but sometimes we need a show like this which highlights the highs and lows of reality and growing up.

But like someone else commented I actually think this show could be appreciated more too if binged. I think leaving a week between new episodes leads people to kind of get lost in theories and predictions instead of take in the drama for what it is. I didn't start this drama until 10 episodes were out so I was able to binge them. I think that too played a bit of a role in how I view the drama too. If I watched week to week I think my opinion could be a bit different.

Well for me I fully understand that this drama was a reflection of the youth and that it really has the lessons…
I don't mean romance is less worthy of being watched because I love cheese romance shows and movies. Still am a huge fan of Hallmark haha. But I meant cheapen in that some people only watch this show with romance on their mind. People starting to say they will drop the show soon if it becomes obvious they don't end up together or the show will be ruined. I think those attitudes cheapen the show. The show isn't just about romance. Obviously there is very sweet young romance in it but its not just that is what I mean. To say this is ONLY a romance drama is my issue because its so much more than just that. Thats what I mean by cheapen if that makes sense.

"The point of the show isn't "who is her father" or "do they end up together". You are ruining the mastery of…
For me I don't focus on her father at all. I tend to focus on the overall growth of the characters through high school and into adulthood. To me the show made is kind of obvious from the beginning how it would end but we all have different interpretations of this show and things we focus on. To be honest we all interpret shows or songs differently depending on our own experiences.

I think for me though all the comments I see are about the couple and I wish people just conversed more about how beautifully this show talks about high school years and from different perspectives.

But yeah, I think a lot of shows are better binge watched because you can really take them in quicker. When you are waiting a week in between episodes and your mind is left to wander and predict I think that can affect how you view the show.

No one is cancelling you lol. That’s an odd thing to say. People are going to have their own opinions and wants…
Some people are commenting they may stop watching because it doesn't look like they will be together and similar comments. I guess they thought this was going to be an ordinary romance drama where it's a simple happy ever after.

I think from what we've seen I can say it's a good drama. I don't see really how they could ruin it to be honest. The acting is amazing and the writing and directing the same.
