1. The dialogue. While most people think that the writers weren't smart enough due to the use of several romance tropes, I beg to disagree. You can tell how smart and talented the writer is based on how they write the dialogue, and KTL's writer/s definitely aced that one.
Some scenes would have been presented either typically - like how most writers would have written it, or flamboyantly-- just to show they added extra flair. But here, the dialogues just flow smoothly. It also highlights Junho's skill in delivering lines, as if there aren't any cameras around him. So I guess, they match well.
So I don't get the negative comments about this drama. Sure, they could have done some of it differently but don't come here demanding for an elaborate and rich plot and dramatic plot twists because the show runners never promised us that.
In fact, the leads have been promoting this as a feel-good romcom, and we got that and more. They did their assignment.
I also live marriage dramas, or those where the leads are already married. Sadly there's little projects with it in K-drama land. Most of it are troubled marriages too, filled with great lessons nonetheless.
1. Flower of Evil (I thoroughly enjoyed this! They truly act like a healthy married couple. The cast also hangs out every now and then and posts on social media, so that's a plus)
2. Go Back Couple (I had a very strong second lead syndrome on this one)
3. The Miracle We Met (I really love this show. Some hated the writer but I liked how it was wrapped up)
4. Tomorrow With You (get ready for the romance!)
5. Emergency Couple (This started out as the couple seeing each other for the first time since getting divorced. This is old but gold!)
6. Marital Chaos (very chaotic indeed. Didn't finish this due to some streaming issues but worth the watch)
7. Big Mouth (Yoona and Jung Suk made believe they were in love in real life π)
8. Familiar Wife (Good reviews made me watch this years ago but I remember having a heartache in almost every episode. What a sad couple.)
9. VIP and The Last Empress. (Let's just say that Jang Nara is very good on marriage dramas. Her Fated to Love You and Family: The Unbreakable Bond with Jang Hyuk are pretty good too).
10. My Wife is Having An Affair This Week (For me, apart from Flower of Evil, this drama best shows the norms of married life).
Unfortunately I agree! What happened?? π€ͺπ π they are both excellent actors.. maybe they needed a break…
Lee Junho was vocal since The Red Sleeve days that he wanted to star in a RomCom next. Perhaps leading a historical drama took a toll on him. YoonA must have needed a breather too after starring in serious projects like Big Mouth.
I think its a deal btw Viki and Tvn, Most of the Mon- tue TVn dramas airs on VIKI / Viu.
I agree, it's the higher ups. I guess MLL's production company sold its rights to Viu/Viki instead of Netflix. I just wish Netflix picked this up first before any of them did.
My only complaint is why this isn't on Netflix. The reach would have been wider. I miss seeing Sohyun dominate Netflix. She used to be Netflix's darling, until she bagged the first ever Viu Original series (River Where the Moon Rises). π₯Ή
Sooo.. IDK anything about Hwan Min Hyun but he specifically stood out to me in AoS because even though it was…
Finally someone said it!! Seo Yul was my favorite in AOS as Minhyun magnificently evoked Yul's emotions in a subdued way, true to the character. I was also impressed how he's acted so far in the first two eps. For a rookie actor like him, he truly is promising!

I was a bit worried about this considering the plot summary but wow, the first episode really blew me away and the second was a good follow up. I think I have a new favorite weekly drama. π
I was so surprised after finding out that the director for this is the same one for Oh My Venus and Fight For My Way. I don't recall getting annoyed at the editing of those two.
Putting that aside, this show remains to be a favorite. I can stand all of the poor editing decisions for this show just so I can revel in the story. It's dramas like this that excites me to take in more of it, the manhwa, the promotional videos, OST, BTS videos--- all of it.
Too bad we only have 4 episodes left. I don't think I can let go of Seoha just yet.
They got big budget thanks to sponsor, and yes thanks to popularity of main casts, Junho and Yoona. But saying…
You could be right or could be wrong. But The Red Sleeve was also produced by NPIO Entertainment which is now producing King the Land. Before TRS, their productions aren't that huge like that of Studio Dragon dramas. So who knows
Been like that for years. Just look at the chart for top dramas here. Mindless trophy dramas always win (especially…
If you've followed him closely, he's been very vocal that he wants to do a romcom after The Red Sleeve. All his recent projects before KTL were serious ones. So, you can't really fault him if he got hooked on this one, especially with the humor that this script offers.
Even Hyun Bin from back then kinda announced publicly that he wants to star in a romcom after having a litany of serious projects, such move landed him Crash Landing On You.
His mother is already casted and she's a different actress.
Ohhh thank you for this! I must have missed the casting. And it makes me more glad that it's Nam Ki Ae. She's very effective in emotional scenes so I better get ready. π₯²

2. We were given exactly what the show was marketed and packaged for--- RomCom? Yes! ClichΓ©? Yes! Big budget? YES!!! Light and fluffy? YES!!!

The actors just naturally bring out the mundane things in life, especially the trio.
