According to censorship, this is not allowed because it would be incest. So we won't get to see anything like…
Yes, that's right :-)
Hello my friend :) Likewise, likewise - but there haven't been many that I've finished so far. But suddenly they are starting to air exciting dramas. Looking forward to Monday too - you've seen what drama is on Youku???? :D
In order to understand this, you need to know the historical background. The children of the principal wife were…
You think it's childish, even though it was totally normal back then. Fighting in the harem was commonplace in aristocratic families as well as at the imperial court.
Just because we see it differently today doesn't change the fact that it was part of the time and history. On the contrary - harmonious marriages or marriages without concubines were very rare back then. Emperor Wen of Sui is one of these rare examples, as he swore to his wife at the time that he would not take concubines or secondary wives before he became emperor. He kept this vow for a very long time, until at some point later he did take concubines. And of course she then became suspicious too.
And to mention another practice from ancient China - when the emperor died, it was completely normal for the childless concubines to be buried with him. This practice was only later regarded as cruel and abolished.
I don't like exaggerated harem stories either. However, I have to say that this one is still well done.
What I find very interesting is that you like ML because of his ‘masculine’ voice. Nobody can change his voice, because it's in the nature of things. Of course you can do things to make your voice smoother, but you have very little influence on whether a voice comes across as shrill or unpleasant. We all have to live with our voice and try to make the best of it.
My tip for you: Pay more attention to your acting skills and less to things like your voice. Because the voice isn't everything :-)
I really want to understand cdrama fan's taste. Do they like the evil sister/family shits that much?i mean, why…
In order to understand this, you need to know the historical background. The children of the principal wife were the ones who were regarded as the legitimate children and were entered in the family registers. In order for the children of concubines to have the right to become legitimate and be registered in the family registers, they usually had to be adopted by the principal wife. This meant that children of concubines could also rise in rank. Children of concubines were often married on as concubines, as it was absolutely unusual in prestigious families for the daughter or son of a concubine to marry the legitimate child. Unless he had distinguished himself through very special deeds.
The children of concubines had a very low status within the family at that time, unless the husband favoured the concubine. If there was more than one concubine in the household, they always fought with each other for the husband's favour and accordingly did very unpleasant things.
At the imperial court in ancient China, this took on completely different forms. Wells were poisoned, concubines who were favoured by the emperor were poisoned or otherwise disposed of - because nobody wanted to give up or lose their power.
Now to the dramas in general - power games were their daily routine back then. Winning the husband's favour was the top priority and sometimes ways and means were used that would be very questionable today. It was usually best for the concubine if the wife died or had no children. In the first case, it might have been possible for the husband to make her his main wife or not remarry. In the second case, the concubine's children were always adopted by the main wife.
So it's actually an important part of the history and a recurring image that comes up again and again.
Now that Luo Yining is back, the concubine must fear that her daughters will lose status and will no longer receive such good marriage candidates, as her children do not have the same legitimate status as Yining. She realised very early on that she would have to do everything she could to improve the status of her children, so she accused Yining of fratricide. The father believed it and the daughter fell out of favour. That was also the reason why the grandmother sent her away. If Yining had stayed in the house, who knows what she would have done to raise her children's status - by that I mean cause Yining's death and make it look like an accident. So she could be sure that Yining would not have an easy time returning to the family or looking to a positive future.
I hope this has shed some light on the matter.
But I do ask myself one question. Why do you watch such dramas if you don't like them? There are certainly others where such disputes exist less or not at all.
Forever and Ever (Part Two to ‘One and Only’ - in "One and Only" both die in their prior live, but in "Forever and Ever" they meet again, without any memories of their past ;-)) Miss Crow With Mr Lizard Love of a lifetime Under the Power The Destiny of the White Snake
Fair warning - in Xianxia, Wuxia or historical dramas you can consider a HW, when both get back tgt in the end - therefore it applies for the last two...
I feel regret wtch this drama.. this pain so unbearable, i know it hinting BE.. but this not just BE but tragic,…
She will live on for her son and she knows, that he died for all the ppl of Yuelou. Even though it is a BE, at least she will be accompanied by their son :-)
Thank God I stopped at Ep 2, Ren Allen is allergic to happy ending. I can’t waste my data on 40 episodes with…
I'm wondering how you came to this conclusion after watching only two episodes. Can you explain the reason behind this?
Ren Jialun is by no means ‘allergic’ (to use your words) to HE. I'm of the opinion that you probably haven't watched enough of his dramas. He has a few with happy endings ;-) Furthermore the book has a SE, so just to assume that we would get a HE because its a drama, is...
1. Romance is portrayed and interpreted differently. First and foremost, it has to fit the character portrayed. And if Wei Zhao had been too romantic, then it absolutely wouldn't have fitted. Wei Zhao is a very reserved person who takes an extremely long time to trust people. This is mainly due to what has happened to this character. He suppresses his feelings most of the time - so romance in the classical sense would be totally inappropriate. Dismissing a portrayal of a character because the person is married has nothing to do with it. If a CP is not able to portray feelings, they do not have enough trust in each other or are not open to the other person. There can be many reasons for this, such as that the familiarisation phase during the preparation for filming was not good and the CP did not have the opportunity to go through the individual scenes often enough, for example. It can also be because they show too much emotion and the director tries to suppress it because it doesn't fit the character, for example. This can lead to the actors being reserved with each other, which has a negative impact. I could give more examples... What I'm getting at is that we don't know the circumstances, so we shouldn't blame one thing or use it as an excuse - that's too easy. In fact, I can also tell you that the CP actually develops feelings in the later episodes and portrays them appropriately at the time.
2. Here are some series of his with a HE - in parts I checked the last episode for you so you have a few series to watch: Forever and Ever (Part Two to ‘One and Only’) Miss Crow With Mr Lizard Love of a lifetime Under the Power The Destiny of the White Snake
P.S.: I'm not a fan of his - I just don't like it when people use words like ‘allergic’ or ‘ marriage’ for something without having seen a series or enough series.
They posted the information on their Chinese website saying the following: 腾讯视频全网独播,本周周四到周五18点更新2集,周六到周日18点更新1集,svip抢先看1集
Tencent Video broadcasts exclusively on the entire network. 2 episodes will be updated at 18:00 from Thursday to Friday this week, 1 episode will be updated at 18:00 from Saturday to Sunday, and svip will be the first to watch 1 episode.
The story is about letting go the past (in this case hatred, ego and yes his dreams too) due to external things/betrayal/fate…
Read mine too. But a fair warning, it is a very long post. I marked it as spoiler and also mentioned the part, in regards of the wishes... I have the same opinion that the person must be very young.

So we won't get to see anything like that if they were real siblings.
And hi :-) Long time no see...
