I think the decision to end the story that way was intentional from the beginning. If we remember Yoon Seo's dreams…
Well considering the moms words, no one was supposed to survive. Jung Won was supposed to be the only survivor and that had been the case for the prior rounds. But in the more recent rounds, Jung Won seemed to have been becoming more and more rogue, helping Yoonseo out. A bug in the coding in which she seemed to have resolved by the end of the series as well as making Yoonseo keep her word of taking responsibility by punishing her (likely out of spite) to retain her memories but unable to prevent anything from happening.
yep, someone was threatening him too saying if he didn't spread the video, they will spread his. Probably it was…
He wasn't forced. He clearly had a perverted crush on her. He most likely made it for private usage but his bullies found it and forced him to spread it.
so what happens to the kids consciousness when they die in the game? prolly not waking up?
They go through another round of mafia again and again. Its basically a hellscape the parents put them in. Remember the simulations seem long but the parents said they've already been through 12 rounds despite having only been there for a short while. This means that the time within the game goes by much quicker than outside irl. So they happen rather instantly despite them feeling like they've been there for days. Jung Won was the only one meant to survive at the end since the parents (especially the mom) wanted all of them to experience dying over and over again. Thus they weren't meant to wake up. At least not until the parents feel like its enough. But the mom is clearly not ready to let them go. Thats why the glare she made at Yoonseo at the end and Yoonseo resetting to the start on the bus, but this time retaining all of her memories. She is basically being punished with the knowledge of everything going on but being unable to prevent anything.
the ending was somewhat predictable but i didnt expect how they'd do it....i honestly hate cliffhanger season…
I highly doubt its gonna get a season 2. Though it left at a cliffhanger, the main plot has already unfolded. There isn't much else to tell that would be interesting enough. The main mystery was who was behind the mafia game and thats already been concluded. Yoonseo won't kill Jung Won because she retained her memories. She knows who/what Jung Won is/ represents and why they're there. She also knows winning has no meaning because everything will simply reset all over again and she will just be the only one who remembers everything. The only way they can reasonably escape from that hellscape is if the dad somehow convinces/stops the mom since it seemed like he was ready to let go but she still wasn't. And I don't think a story surrounding the dad convincing the mom will be a very compelling story to make.
Okay, so it was indeed a game as suspected and it was Se Eun's parents who programmid it and the "AI" Jung Won…
I agree with you for the most part. Your conclusion was mostly what I concluded as well. The only thing I would disagree with is that Jung Won wasn't necessarily looking at Yoonseo with despise but rather she no longer acknowledges Yoonseo as a friend. Like she's basically forgotten their friendship together. From what we have gathered so far, Yoonseo was Se-Eun/Jung Won's only friend throughout school. By eliminating that from her life/code, she has basically become a complete loner and because she has been coded with all the negative experiences that Se-Eun has experienced without any positive experience then she will interact less positively with the core team. I do agree that Se-Eun's mother likely has the most grudge against Yoonseo specifically because she expected Yoonseo to be some sort of guardian protector for Se-Eun being her only friend. Basically she has some serious issues in her head. The father is somewhat more reasonable than her. Thus, because of Yoonseo stating that she will take responsibility, to spite her, she has allowed only her to retain her memories, making her the only sentient being forced to suffer for eternity with knowledge of whats to come but unable to prevent it alone. In a way, the parents especially the mother, unable to cope with their daughters death decided to push the responsibilities to children, including the ones who weren't really involved and had no knowledge of what was going on, specifically Yoonseo. She expects Yoonseo to be the parent for Se-Eun at school. Thats pretty much the feeling that the mother gives off to me.
It was Yoon Seo’s phone, he grabbed it when Jung Won looked away when they put her body in the freezer.
Thats what I'm talking about. When Jung Won claimed that Jun Hee and Yoon Seo are dead, there is 1 phone that is still on indicating 1 is still alive while the other is off indicating 1 is dead. But if you saw the trailer you would know neither are dead. This means that the phones were swapped somehow. Jung Won is the most likely one to have swapped them. Remember, when she first announces Jun Hee's death, he checks a phone to see if it turns on (it doesn't), indicating to him that she was "telling the truth". But when he asks her about Yoonseo and she claims she is dead, he checks and sees the phone still active, indicating that Jung Won was lying. Of course now that I think about it, the phone that he took from Jun Hee might have actually been Na Hee's whom is already dead so that might be why it was inactive. So I was perhaps overthinking.
The mafias can kill more than 1 person in the night.... If they had been smart when there were still more mafias…
Well to be fair, none of them were eager to murder aside from Da Beom. So the less people they needed to kill at once gives their mind some moments to rest and to calm their nerves between each kill session. Da Beom is pretty much the only one who has grown used to killing.
The 2 phones that Da Beom has are not Jun Hee's and Yoonseo's. Jung Won probably left her own and someone else's for Da Beom is my guess. Maybe she couldn't bring herself to kill Yoonseo and Junhee for the sake of Yoonseo being her only friend or something like that. That would also mean that she expected Da Beom to find out though. Not sure what her plan was in that case. Did she expect Da Beom to betray her like that also?
Ok, so the Citizens are really brainless. There were 2 massive suspects that were equally suspicious in the beginning of episode 11, but they chose to vote out the one thats extremely wounded and weak. If it were me and I was not 100% sure, I would vote out Da Beom instead of Yeon Woo because even if Yeon Woo turned out to be the Mafia, he would be easier to deal with because of his injury. He'd have less room and energy to actively go around killing (At least less than Da Beom would). Jun Hee should have brought up seeing Da Beom smirk earlier and questioned him because why would he smirk if he wasn't a Mafia? Also, no one wondered why the Mafia got hurt in the vent but Na Hee didn't? She hid in the Vent but the Mafia would be pulling her out of the Vent, not going in themselves. How would they have gotten hurt on their abdominal area? Yoonseo was supposed to be the "detective" Citizen here, but clearly she is only a reader at most. She's not much of a detective.
So, Imma take a guess and say that the 2018 reality they are in right now is a simulation. FL in 2025 got into an accident and was then plugged in as part of an experiment or something. If we go back to episode 1, we see a countdown in the 2025 timeline for a "Lighthouse System Activation", suggesting that 2025 is reality. Maybe she's actually in a coma. Xu is likely a part of said experiment but maybe he went rogue midway. His disappearance in the past could just be him logging out. And because he was never truly part of that world, everyone forgot about his existence. The ML is basically the only sentient AI in the simulated world, thus he is being called a "virus". Something happened to his coding I guess. My guess is that when the FL returns back to reality, everyone will forget she existed also except the ML. Their history together was pretty much all code.
Also they could have given her the keys to cafeteria, and let her stay there, since everyone knew now that she…
Thats what I had said previously. The smart but also selfless strategy on the Citizens part would have been to gather the cop and those confirmed by her to be Citizens behind the Cafeteria where the Mafia can't get her. She is literally their greatest key to catching the Mafia so she should have been the priority. But that would also place everyone else at risk which very few would like so there would likely be arguments from that. However, with this strategy, it makes it almost a sure win for the Citizens as the number of suspects dwindle. Of course a few sacrifices will have to be made. If the doctor were still alive, then that may have been helpful in reducing the number of casualties but unfortunately its too late for that.
okay so why didn't the police say anything if she knew who the mafia were from the beggining? were there any limitation…
I think she didn't want to be the direct cause of anyones deaths. She didn't want to be the one to start pointing fingers. Plus it seemed she was friends with some of them so she was probably struggling to out her friends until she was pushed into a corner and betrayed by them.
AGAIN Jung won is acting so suspicious, I really feel like she could be the other mafiaAnd in the preview of 11…
I can only assume that Jung Won might be misleading the main team. Everyone else are sheep that follow the leading figures. No one wants to suspect Jung Won. Especially since before everything started, she had told Yoonseo that she was a Citizen. This might suggest that Jung Won really does know more than she is letting on about the game too.
From the revelation surrounding the ghost se-eun, it seems that Da Beom wasn't very innocent himself and might have been a bully himself. From the looks of it, he probably participated in bullying Se-eun. Also from their statement that all the people who knew about their involvement in her bullying are now dead aside from So Mi, Na Hee, and Da Beom, this seems to imply that Kyunjun and the other 2 bullies also knew about it. So basically Da Beom was a bully who was also being bullied. That seems to be what was going on. Either he started out being bullied and took his frustrations out on someone who looked even weaker than him or he started being bullied after her incident when the 3 bullies found out and decided to leverage on that against him or something.
in episode 10 preview, Da Beom said “Only you and I are left alive” so Somi is dead now and everyone forgot…
I think the scene you are talking about might be him threatening the other mafia to protect him or he will drag them down together. Its not that everyone forgot about him but everyone is probably not awake at that time. They are probably also in the midst of discussing who to kill next.
I like her (police) play, if she'll die anyway might as well bring down the mafia she's suspecting. 😂😂😂…
If they play it smart and willing to be a bit less self-serving and act for the bigger picture even at the risk of their own lives, then they will give the keys to the Cafeteria to Na Hee to keep her safe as she is their greatest asset. She can also take with her anyone who has been confirmed by her as Citizens, ensuring the greatest number of Citizens surviving.
in episode 10 preview, Da Beom said “Only you and I are left alive” so Somi is dead now and everyone forgot…
He's talking to the remaining Mafia. There is still 1 other Mafia, which can be inferred by the scene which he is talking to So Mi and someone else when he is preparing to kill Kyung Jun. I suspect the other one is Jung Won.
all the civilians better hide PROPERLY this time and confiscate the keys to the canteen so that the police can…
Because no one knows who if the mafia will follow them in. But yea, the smart way would be to give the keys to Na Hee and have anyone who has been confirmed to be Citizen by her so far stay in the room with her. The question is whether the others would accept that because then that means the others would be left to be easy targets. However this method would also pretty much ensure that the mafia will be found eventually, pretty much ensuring the Citizens win.
Ok so the police is out in the open and the mafias will target her next. We can infer from episode 9 that there are 3 mafias left including So Mi. With her gone there is still Da Beom and an unknown Mafia member which I am suspecting at this point may really turn out to be Jung Won. We know that there are 9 people left - 2 Known Mafias: So Mi and Da Beom We know that they aren't the only 2 because we see Da Beom asking someone or some people other than So Mi if they agree to kill Kyung Jun. - We know that Yoonseo is Citizen from episode 1 - Jun Hee found Kyung Jun's phone and brought peoples attention to Da Beom as the greatest suspect, so unless he is shooting his own teammates in the foot, he is unlikely to be the Mafia - It is revealed that Na Hee is the police and likely also the one who wrote on the wall that Jun Hee is Citizen. - The girl thats always around So Mi is likely to be a Citizen from all of their interactions plus the fact that she was one of the first to vote out Woo Ram. So thats 2 known Mafias, 1 known Citizen + 2 assumed Citizen, and 1 cop. Thats 6 people total. This means only 3 people left including Jung Won. - The 2 remaining guys are unlikely to be Mafia considering that they surprised So Mi and her follower when they found them in the Food Area with the keys, bringing suspicion to them. Their interactions make it unlikely for the 2 guys to be the Mafia, but its also possible that only 1 of them isn't the Mafia while the other is but I don't really think so. - This pretty much leaves Jung Won as the greatest remaining suspect. We don't really know where she stands on a moral scale tbh because she has been more of an observer than anything so far. - When So Mi initially wanted to kill off Yoonseo but was stopped by the game, the victim got changed to one of the bullies. This might mean that someone protected Yoonseo from being the victim that round. The most likely people to do that are either Jung Won or Jun Hee, but Jun Hee was dead at that point, leaving the greatest possibility being Jung Won.
