this drama is revenge plot gone wrong and how a sad ending does NOT automatically save your sorry excuse of a plot. The novel is way better even tho the book male character was sh!t, so really they fcked up the potential the drama had and wasted the chemistry the leads had. I could see it coming so I'm glad I dropped it around ep 15 when it was airing and just remembered and watched the ending. the drama unfortunately peaked at the bath kiss scene and the rest sh!t.

I liked the drama for having a somewhat different plot with the crime and suspense. Tho I would like more romance scenes from the couple, they didn't have much kissing or couple scenes. So the crime and suspense part was kinda more interesting than the couple. I liked the psychologist cop character more compelling. If the couple had been written better and executed by the actors better it would have been a hit.

I wish her speed recovery and hope she can return to her healthy and lively self. I hope she takes all the time she needs for recovery and really breaks free from those nasty bullies and abusers. I feel for her depression and hope with her family and friends as support system will be able get through this. I really don't care when she returns just wish her finding the joy in life and regaining her health again whatever time that takes!❤️

Season 2 is surely even higher quality and more comedic. Tho I still prefer season 1. One think I have to complain about is the lack of honey’s scenes the first week. Like well have only 12 eps I need her screen time to be equal to the other main leads what’s with only few seconds??? It really irritated me. Also, I realized again how hopeless my ship for haeil and gyeongseon …. They’re still so platonic argh my shipper heart is aching tho still thankful that we got a second season after five years which is really lucky.
Tho I’m lowkey hoping he’ll retire as a priest/bellator because of his illness so they can give an open end interms of future with gyeongseon… like really they had so many slow burn couple moments in season 1 so it’s not like I’m delusional. What can I say I’m a sucker for slow burn couples ✌🏻

Tianzhen is such a jerk for what he did to Tou Tou. He literally got her purposefully drunk and left her all alone in a public park! Does the writer really think this is redeemable? Not for me.

Tou Tou and Master Ren are the perfect father-daughter duo! I love their dynamics and growing bond<3

Lol to the plot summary, they always use so many adjectives when they describe republican drama plots to flatter the "chinese revolution"😂😂

I've missed a good republican era drama, so let's see how this one will turn out.

The period being in the 80s & 90s screams tragic sad ending to me (YOM PTSD is real) 😭

But then again, I never learn from my mistakes so I'll probably watch it & cry in pain at the end🤧

Gu is really a unpleasant character to watch, like they usually give some traits to make a male lead more likeable, but he's so annoying to see. I feel like the drama throws you heavy drama and too many obstacles at the female lead too early. Like before we even can begin cheering for her she gets demoted every episode which is very unrealistic as it's obvious they're doing it as an excuse to get rid of her just because she's a female. Let's not forget that tr@shy Jiang who openly shows his sexist @ss.
I only see a strong female lead and the rest of the characters, including the male lead, unpleasant and ugly to watch their ridiculous behaviour.

Okay so who's the love interest of Ban xia? From the trailer it seems to be the older business man, tho the other younger guy who went to prison for her also has feelings for her. But I think she sees him as a brother. Am I wrong or is it too early to tell?...

but some people are saying the ml died in the novel bc of health issues😭 I really hope they end happily. I will definitely wait till it ends, so I can watch it knowingly.
