A similar problem (the morality police) happened with the new series of interviews with the vampire. When they announced Lestat’s series people had been saying that he’s too dark and that they don’t want a whole season about him. (He was dark even in the two seasons before 😭😭😭)
But I don’t understand why people keep engaging with dark stuff if they don’t like it. i swear it’s a thing that really bothers me 😂

I hope so! With the amount of darkness that awaits us in the next episodes it’s better if those people just step back

Also yes, I’m a HUGE fan of Erha and the amount of critiques this series get for being dark is insane.
Like.. there are a lot of triggers and everyone has said that it’s very dark? And yet you will find comments saying that it’s a bad book because it’s too dark 🫠🤡

The same thing applies here because if they don’t like this series they shouldn’t watch it 😭😭😭 I don’t watch series that I don’t like, why can’t they do the same? 😭

I totally understand that it’s not a genre for everyone and it’s okay! We are all different, but they cannot force others to dislike it just because they cannot enjoy a dark themed series.

For them not understanding that someone can totally understand fiction without excusing it, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a them problem. They don’t possess critical thinking and they want to throw their problems at us. It’s the only explanation that I’ve come up with because at this point it’s getting ridiculous and we’re letting them ruin our experience with this beautiful piece of fiction and we shouldn’t let them have so much power.

At this point if they can’t engage with dark fiction without assuming everyone supports it in real life, that’s not really our problem 🤷🏼‍♀️

I totally agree with you.
Honestly no one should ever have to justify their interest for a dark series.I personally consume podcasts, movies, TV shows and YouTube videos about true crime and serial killers because I’m genuinely interested in how those people function and why they become what they become.I also enjoy dark romance for pretty much the same reason. The darkness inside a fractured and twisted mind is genuinely interesting to me from a psychological standpoint.That said, I really don’t feel the need to justify myself because it’s fiction and everyone here has the right to watch whatever they want without being judged every two seconds.What’s honestly getting exhausting is people in the comments constantly throwing around terms like “rape apologist” at anyone who enjoys morally dark fiction.

The ones criticizing Ayden are trying to get on my nerves because have they’ve seen him?! and not just because he’s a good looking man, but because HE CARES about the story, HE CARES about Lu Feng’s feelings and emotions. And he has done the best to give us a beautiful version of a very complicated character.
And those people are out there criticizing him, trying to make him look like a geriatric man. Like hello? touch some grass, maybe?

But also they should let us enjoy the darkness of these series without being a constant pain in our asses 🙄🙄🙄

It’s not a green flag series. It’s a dark centered romance with morally questionable characters and pretty much everyone is a walking red flag in their own way (except for Qin Lang that for now is a green flag)

Unfortunately i haven’t read the book, but you are absolutely right. That level of anger that Lu Feng will experience comes from a deep and soul crushing love.
