What type of drama do you like her in then though? Her cp chemistry in any drama has never disappoint me yet since…
I tried so much but I couldn't go on with Hidden Love. I've the read the novel 1 or 2 years back before this drama adaptation was announced. I felt the same way with the novel too, it took me a whole week to read that short novel. Putting into context that I usually take 1 or 2 days to read a fully translated chinese novel. If it is of the same word count as Secretly Secretly But Unable to Hide It (the novel Hidden Love was adapted from), a half day is more than enough. It's not that it's bad, but rather, I just couldn't connect with it. I'd hoped the drama adaptation would connect with me, and I adore Lusi, so I gave it a try. I tried and tried for a few times until I gave up.
Anyone who has read the novel know who the pairings are?....
The only pair that we know were together until their death was Ji Xing - Han Ting.
Shao Yichen had long moved on before Ji Xing did -- He was even engaged with his new GF (not listed in the drama cast, I think), if I'm not wrong, but no idea how that turned out in the end.
Li Li was involved with a married President of a company -- she didn't know he was married when they got together. Later, when she got to know, she continued the relationship to take revenge on him or something. Obviously, they broke up once that man's wife got to know about it. His wife also came to Li Li's house and caused a commotion. No idea who she ended up with.
Wei Qiuzi was set on a blind date with Lu Linjia, who was younger than her. She had Ji Xing accompany her on this blind date, while Lu Linjia brought his uncle, Han Ting. Wei Qiuzi felt that Lu Linjia was not a good match for her. Lu Linjia also had no interest in her. They parted ways. Later, she met another young intern in her company, who pursued her. She seemed reluctant at first and then accepted him. Then she got to know that he was jumping companies and never considered being with her forever. So, they broke up. No idea who she or Lu Linjia ended up with.
Tu Xiaomeng had a boyfriend who works very hard but gets less pay, while she works as a live-streamer. They had a very good relationship, until Tu Xiaomeng starts receiving expensive gifts from one of her viewers. She accepted them. Her boyfriend finds out and they had a huge fight. Later, she meets the guy who sent the gifts, and had slept with him. The guy obviously did not care for her. She also didn't care for him. Afterward, her boyfriend came back for reconciliation. She was straightforward and told him that she had slept with that rich guy. So, from then on, she and her boyfriend had been in an on-and-off relationship. Abusing each other mentally. Don't know how they ended up.
I'll have a say on this and won't bother with this again.I will first talk about the actors involved, and then…
Yes, I read about it when all of this was happening. It's sad, but it isn't just TSY who has these kind of fans. Every star in C-drama, even in K-drama has these kinds of fans.
From looking at the reuters, both Xu Kai and Seven Tan gets along very well. It doesn't look like this issue bothered…
Yes, they do get along very well.
I think we can all agree that Chinese fans (doesn't matter who the star is) are the worst. Always trying to control their stars, getting into fights when there is nothing.
Before this escalate further, i think it is necessary to put end to this matter. It already happened. The filming…
I'll have a say on this and won't bother with this again.
I will first talk about the actors involved, and then about the fan wars.
Actors involved:
Firstly, it's sad that TSY had to go through what she did. I really feel bad for her. Although I am a XK fan, I really like TSY. In fact, one of the first dramas I watched after I was introduced to C dramas was Fox's Summer (I think it was my third or fourth C drama, I was yet to be introduced to XK at this point). And I watched it because I found FL very appealing.
Secondly, regarding XK, I find it funny that some people could even say that he was adding scenes for himself in a drama. Lol! I wish he had the ability to do that. So many of his dramas where he is the ML, yet he was so sidelined in those dramas that even supporting characters have more screentime than him. Hell, even his currently airing drama, Snow Eagle Lord, where he is not just the ML but the titular character of the drama, yet, he is still being sidelined. And to say that he is adding scenes for himself is just laughable.
Coming to fan wars:
Firstly, I would like to clarify that in my country, we do not have access to Weibo. So whatever I am about to say, I am on basing it on my observations. I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong:
It's sad to see this situation.
I have seen many comments here from TSY fans that how TSY is not a traffic star who doesn't like attention on herself. Well, from what I observed, I think XK is also like that, even though he is in a company. He hardly gets any hot searches. His team doesn't buy hot searches for him (this, I heard from another group, where XK fans have been talking about, so correct me if I'm wrong). And whenever he is on hot search, it's all negative news; and some of these hot searches were even bought by XK's boss so that he could promote other dramas not involving XK in any sense. One of such incidents happened recently - It's said that XK has three ex-gfs from the same company he is in. One of his ex's drama is about to be aired, but his other two ex-gfs did not post anything about this drama - And that was the trending topic. And this trending topic was bought by none other than his own boss.
I'm making this point because, from these observations, it can be seen that XK fans were usually minding their own business unless they are provoked by someone else. And they are usually provoked by XK's own boss.
Here too, people are minding their own business, and then TSY fans suddenly come out start these fan wars.
It's been that way since this drama and it's cast were announced - TSY fans did not like TSY doing this drama, asking her why she is doing this. Then it's the billing issues. Then XK adding scenes issue. It has always been TSY fans who provoked, and XK fans have always been the ones to respond to them.
So, I think, the ones who should hold their horses here should be TSY fans. Even now, here on this MDL page, the ones who poked the hornet's nest were TSY fans, and XK fans were responding to them. So there's that...
Since I've said my piece, I will say that, now, I agree with you. We should put an end to these fan wars and enjoy the drama for what it is.
I would finally like to clarify - I like TSY, and I have watched some of her dramas just because she was in it. I will continue to do so. Fan wars is fan wars, actors are actors. I don't mix them.
wait,I read in these comments that they are not blood related. The brother is adopted. Im confused. I haven't…
Oh, I understood the point, that's why I presented with the information from the novel that Xu Qin and Meng Yanchen used to have feelings for each other before Xu Qin was adopted into the Meng family. It's definitely hard to look at the person you have feelings for and consider them as a sibling. That's what happened between the two. Here, it's not about about the adoption or blood relation, but the fact that they both had feelings for each other before they became adoptive siblings.
wait,I read in these comments that they are not blood related. The brother is adopted. Im confused. I haven't…
Yes, I understood that. Just giving you the context that they never saw each other as siblings in the novel this drama is being adapted from. If they did, then fair point.
I think you may need to read the novel. There's a lot of context that is lost when adapting literature. Someone…
I hope the drama adapts the novel well.. if they do, you will slowly come to like her. This author likes to write complex characters that feel real. Xu Qin is one such character. In the novel, too, FL was unlikeable in the beginning. Slowly, you will start to see things from her perspective, the mental health issues she was facing, and start to sympathize with her.
wait,I read in these comments that they are not blood related. The brother is adopted. Im confused. I haven't…
In the novel, Xu Qin and Meng Yanchen had feelings for each other before Xu Qin's parents died. Xu Qin suppressed her feelings for Meng Yanchen once Meng Yanchen's mother noticed it and warned her about it - saying that she will forsake the adoption if she still harbored any feelings for her son. -- Xu Qin, who was born and raised in luxury, cannot afford to live ordinary life. She needs the luxury the Meng family provides her. So, in the novel, they never saw each other as siblings, even if they grew up together. Not sure how it will play out in the drama.
tbh, ratings doesn't matter even for the perfect drama some son of a gun will give 0 rating and for bad drama…
Same here... I don't rate if I don't like, because, in most cases, I would drop the drama if I didn't like it. I find it unjust to rate a drama if I didn't watch it to the end. I also wouldn't make a big deal out of it by ranting -- like some people would, by going to the MDL comments section -- if I dropped a drama.
In an ideal world, people wouldn't rate dramas until the drama is finished airing.
What the heck? I never expected this kind of stomach butterfly thing when I watch Nazha and Xukai on screen🥰🥺…
I didn't expect their chemistry would be fire either. When they were filming, the behind-the-scenes leaks with their interactions did not leave a good impression on me... and I was right in having this impression, I guess. When Xu Kai and Nazha live-streamed together yesterday, they did say that they didn't know how to communicate with each other in the beginning, as they were both shy and weird. Like they were fine interacting with other cast and crew members, just not with each other, but later they finally connected. Sometimes, these types of pairings ooze more chemistry on-screen, tbh.
That’s one of the main lines from him regarding his perspective on love. If they changed it or omitted it I…
Yes, for the character he is playing, he would only be listed as a guest actor.
I am just looking through the cast and credits here on MDL - thanks to your information about Ao Rui Peng - and found two characters that I do not recognize from the novel (or am I already forgetting some parts/characters from the novel?) -- Huang Wei Wei and Zhong Yi Ni.
