Yeah, the scene in the novel gave me the chills, too. It wasn't just Ji Xing feeling it. 😅

Han Ting had no feelings for Ji Xing in the novel. So his plan to invest in her company was to keep the competition in check. Then he saw potential in her and guided her as a teacher. A few months after she broke up with her boyfriend, he started to feel the hots for her, and she also started to feel the hots for him. They hook up, start relationship, Ji Xing finds out about Hanhai and Han Ting. She betrays him for her company, and he uses this opportunity to defeat his cousin (it all ties in). This will cause them to argue, where Ji Xing realizes Han Ting doesn't love her, but only likes her, while she had fallen in love with him. This is the main reason she couldn't be with him. Of course, after their break up, their communication improves, and we get to know Han Ting's definition of love... and that definition is everything for this story.

I don't think Han Ting took pleasure in their break up though.

I like the dynamic change now. It's more balanced, and I hope they work out.

We are finally seeing how ruthless Han Ting can be!!

But yeah, this ruthlessness, unfortunately, comes with a cost.

Xu Kai did confirm in one of the interviews that Han Ting had a bedroom in his office in the novel but doesn't have one in the drama.

She approaches Chang He for second round of investment so that XingChen won't be under Han Ting's control. For the investment, she also needs Han Ting's signature, so when he is reviewing the document to sign, she distracts him by seducing him, or that's what she thinks. Han Ting knew what she was up to and let her be.

I really want to know how they will handle the break up in the drama. In the novel, the primary reason she broke up with him was because Han Ting only 'liked' her, but she had already fallen in 'love' with him.

Before their confrontation, before JX decided to 'deceive' Han Ting (this was right after Zeng Di revealed to her that Han Ting was the secret boss of Hanhai), JX asks HT if he loves her. He, in turn, asks her, "Define the word: Love."
That was last string for her in the novel.

I also did feel a bit bad for ZD, but I still don't like her in the drama.

Something I noticed, ZD's make up in recent episodes has improved. She looked younger and more beautiful as compared to earlier episodes.

They were only together for 3 months before they broke up in the novel. That's still very fast to fall in love, but that's just how JX rolls, lol!

It does sound a bit melancholic, but if you go through the lyrics, it doesn't seem like something that plays when they are going through a break-up. Probably after they get back together.

First verse ends with endlessly, second verse ends with restlessly.

While I love the song and it does lift up the scene, I am also getting just a teeny tiny bit tired of it. The OST album of this drama is filled with very beautiful OSTs.. they can mix it up a bit between them.
