Up to ep 7 and this is my fav Bai Lu character so far. She's the most natural I've seen her and it's so pleasant to watch. The only thing is the fighting scenes are a bit questionable but liking everything else so far.
Am up to ep 18, my initial impression: this is probably the least natural I've seen Elvis Han. I was looking forward to it because I've enjoyed his other dramas, but so far he feels quite stiff in both delivery and performance. The heavy filtering also makes both leads look oddly doll-like. Hopefully things settle as the story progresses.
Up to Ep 27, Zhan Zhao Adventures started off strong, but I feel the dialogue and acting have fallen off a bit. The fight scenes are still the best part of the show by far.
HLL also started off as a strong character, but somehow by this point she's mostly just following ZZ around, which is disappointing.
My biggest gripe is probably the direction and editing... a lot of scenes feel abruptly cut, so the flow between scenes isn't as smooth as it could be.
I loved the ML, and I think he carried this showβ¦ FL was annoying most of the drama and only some character…
wow what dramas of hers have you watched?! She's the one actress whom I've watched who actually gas a lot of range and she portrays each character differently. Am planning to watch this so can't judge her acting here but have pretty much watched a lot of her dramas.
Am at ep 11 and can the mother die already! π the friggin' cough that she can't even act out and the self-deprecation is driving me nuts! π rant over!
Loving seeing this different culture but the main thing I noticed was how much Landy Li has grown! I've watched a lot of her previous works with many high sch dramas and she's bloomed here π
I'd admire Zhou Mei's directness and honesty in dealing with other things, but those qualities lose credibility when sheβs willing to participate in a relationship with a married man. That rejection was probably the best rejection I've watched.
Re-watching Flourish In Time and there's just something about Zhang Ling He... no matter his role he knows how to use those microexpressions to really give you butterflies πππ what a great talent!
Somehow, I did not identify him as the same actor as the doctor ML in The Best Thing. So, I guess that should…
definitely a credit to his range as an actor. Have watched him since Sparkle Love and he's so talented. First watched him as ML in another drama and even then, to me, he outshone the ML.
Very frustrating in some parts, she doesn't seem to love him so much to top it off she decides to leave and maintain…
She fought for everything for herself after relying on her husband, you wanted her to rely on another man?! Good on her for thinking of her career and expanding her horizon.
Finally finished this... felt no chemistry between the leads. They should've left it at just master/student. Forcing a romance was unnecessary. Totally loved the FL... Feng Shiye is hot, first time seeing him in anything. I just wished he was tortured a lil bit more π The ending was a bit rushed so not really any satisfaction for her revenge. Overall, loved the way the FL was portrayed by Cristy Guo, my first time watching her too.
