civil law system is totally different to common law which is what we have in Australia... it's interesting and can be frustrating to watch... for instance, the fact that a plaintiff can sue the deceased's family... here, we can sue the Estate but the family is not personally liable. Also, I take it having an affair is illegal? I thought that was abolished already?

I was bored with these two eps and if the writer lacks credibility from the beginning then there's no point in watching it for the legal aspect. It's easy to blame him in hindsight. I believe he entered their relationship with every intention of being with her. It was only after meeting her again that he realised he still loved her. On some level, she knew as well. She was in denial. Not excusing his behaviour but she knew he wasn't in it 100%. Even at the end, she tried to avoid him talking to her about it.
