It's been a while since I've felt like this about a drama... no f/fwding, hanging on every word from each character, shocked when each ep ends because helloooo it's only been 10 mins, right?! and then can't wait for the nxt episode!!! Everything so far has been well executed by the whole crew, congrats!

Her trauma would not allow her to be soft with the FL as she's already lost one daughter and she probably thought she wasn't hard enough on her. For someone who is frustrating to watch from afar and who has experienced a lot of trauma, she actually communicates her fears and her expectations quite well. She tells the FL exactly what she expects from her and the reason why she is overprotective. Usually, you'd expect a mother like that to shut down the FL totally and not even explain herself. The writing and dialogue are very raw and the actors are doing an exceptional job conveying all the feels.
In this ep I was more frustrated with the FL for holding everything in. She's come all this way only to not express all she's feeling or scream her frustrations away.

I don't think anyone can judge the mother unless you've lost a daughter, and esp the way they lost her and all the events leading up to it. Losing your offspring is a different kind of pain and you don't really know how people will be after that. The mother frustrates me to no end but considering the era, what she's been through, the cultural background, the upbringing, and her family environment, I can sorta understand why she's like that. The actress is doing a phenomenal job.
They really should've changed the 'passionately'... maybe to passively! It was cute but it was like watching a high school youth drama til the end... Wang An Yu still one of my favs tho
NM somehow always surprises me in everything of his I've watched. I don't go looking for his works so I delay watching a lot of it and all I've loved. I'm not a big fan of the FL but wanted to check this out. NM is engaging and dare I say, mesmerising. His quiet and unaffected demeanour just drew me in and I cannot stop watching. Wished I had waited though to binge as waiting a week is a bit of a torture.

I don't feel it's a little bit weird... might it be that things get lost in translation? I get the feels but sometimes it's abrupt and random some of the flirtatious comments
