I keep coming back to checking the rating. Yes the story made us mad but this is still great production. The acting, cinematography, music, the scripts have quotable great lines. Deserves higher rating!

I really want to love this show, I love Dami - Wooshik counterpart and this is the genre that I like, but the story really bores me 😭

Good point, SBS got the backlash for racism from Ifans, for Penthouse and Backstreet Rookie. Same thing happened in Racket Boys when they put Indonesia badminton into a bad light, Indonesian get so offended. All of them are not counted as history yet it hurts people because of cultural appropriation and misinterpreted. I remember it got so many supports too from Ifans. So, why do now when the Koreans feel the broadcaster do a distortion of their own tragic event some Ifans blatantly being an ignorant suggest them to just shrug it off because it's a fiction?

If you ask me, from my pov why would they make a NK who hides and disguises in SK in that exact year? Whether he's a spy or not, knowing NK is a very sensitive topic in that year and the reason those people being killed. Also how you explain the NIS agent and the song part? But again, read my first post, I'm fully aware that some still watch it and some might against it, my concern is simply you all Ifans don't cross the line by saying the koreans who tell this is a distortion are lying and the history might be untrue just to defend this drama, we know nothing. They have a NK (might be potential a spy) who hides and disguises among the students in SK, when in fact that's the excuse dictator and NIS agent used to caught, tortured, killed, raped activist and student who demanded a democracy because they framed them as a NK spies that's why they arrested them, while they were not. Making a true NK (Sooho) hides among this students is like justification that a past government and NIS might be true that there are NK involved in their movement, while there were not. They are also trying humanize the NIS agents so far in 2 episodes by the characterization of Kangmoo and Hanna and how they treat the other characters, also both have past relationship, no? Who tf korean who want to watch a romance between people who tortured them? Another thing, they use the song that activist sung when the NIS chase Sohoo, a NK, it's an insult to them. That's so far the history distortion SK people concern about.

Do you think it's only 5 korean people in twitter talking about this? There are thousands already, even since the first petition in march. Also how do Ifans can agree with them? There are lot of other predecessor works who depict the 1980s tragedy. People also read, you know? There are so many news cover about it. What do you expect us Ifans to do to confirm the real story anyway? Flying to SK? How do we know if what they're saying is true? Well how can you think if what they saying is lie? BUT to defend this drama to the point you are second guessing the history the korean people fighting for right now, or saying not all interpretation of a history equally valid (which means you're second guessing), this AIN'T IT. You're crossing the line! Who's the winning side that is written in this history? It's korean people! Because the battle was between korean people vs their (dictator) government. If you're unwilling to read a long thread a korean wrote in twitter because it might be biased, go googling it! There are a lot of international reports about it plus the images of what happened in that era. There are a lot of living victims tell their testimony. Ffs it's just a drama, don't lose your humanity just to defend it.

Lady, who do you think here is winning? The koreans who get tortured by the dictator (who don't even get fairly punishment) for fighting and getting the democracy? No one gets convenient happy ending. Both women finally did what they should done long time ago.

Heejoo gets her chance to repent her sins after being so arrogant for so long. Not sure will she be able back to painting again nor she wants to (I never saw that painting is her truly passion, as she got the chance because she met Haewon and got the privileges). Her longing is only for her family. Haewon finally rebuilds her life after the "death", thing she should have done rather than wasting her life for people who wronged her.

I can't imagine more appropriate ending for Woojae. If no one kills him, he would be the one who murders someone else. Nothing good comes from him tho (except his sculptures), he stays deranged until the end. Tragic that his two "closest" people are the one who throws his dead body away and covers his death.

Hyeonseong and Lisa, two criminals, who attempts murder and commits murder of the same guy. Can get away from trial but have to live in agony that his wife and her mom abandons them for other man.

True that's the bad side of this drama, they don't stick to the premise about two women. They give more spotlight to the infidelity scenes.

I'm glad for what they did in the finale. Only poor Lisa, has no idea she murders someone and keep living in a lie, she even has to keep it by herself.

Hm I don't think so, the reason of they don't show Haewon in the end is in fact because she's not happy for all of this. She can bounce back but it's not the result of her vengeful agenda, that's why her last scene is she getting stabbed, that's why Heejoo said her story is just begin because it's another story to tell.
