i usually like when kdramas get right into the story but this felt a bit rushed, we didn't really get a feel for the tone of the drama before they were hitting us with the plot

wait they're only a year apart?? lol they made this big deal about the age difference and it's a year??? even the work experience difference is only two years. man i've been watching korean media for years and as hard as i try i will still never understand stuff like this

considering seon ho is like 35 and she is currently playing a high schooler, a relationship between them just seems so weird to me

yes that's pretty much how i feel, a case-by-case basis, some are okay to me, some aren't. but i do think it can give people a bad impression of the bl genre because their are already so many toxic tropes, and then there are stepbrother relationships that cross the line into morally questionable

except people don't dislike the step brothers trope because it's overused, they dislike it because they have a moral issue with it (that the characters are legally related, even though they aren't related by blood). it makes sense that people would be uncomfortable with it, it would be weird to date someone when one of your parents is married to one of theirs. personally i'd still be interested in giving the show a chance, but you can't be surprised that some people are bothered by it

i choose to believe they get together after the movie is over. that's the only way to keep my sanity lol

also relevant is that their is emotion associated with the colors that adds to why they don't want to lose the color, it's not just that you can see colors you also feel very strong emotions

if this had come out a year ago i would have been so impressed but honestly after where your eyes linger was released i think the bar for korean bls has been raised too much in my eyes. it's weird because it was so short it should have felt rushed but although things happened...it felt like nothing happened?? idk if that makes sense but somehow every episode i was left wondering what actually happened in the episode like how did the story progress. idk i was really disappointed. i think by far the biggest issue is that they didn't even properly get introduced until like episode 4 which in a show this short is just way way way too late in the storyline. like at the beginning of episode 5 they were deciding which honorifics to use and then at the end of episode 6 they kissed. and although we saw sang yi had a crush, i don't think we really saw in soo like him back and even sang yi's feelings were kinda new because they didn't know each other well. to compare is to the most similar korean bls, where your eyes linger and mr heart, i think where your eyes linger worked the best because they already knew each other, so they didn't have to convince the viewers that they had love at first sight or anything, and the overall plot and the development of their feelings were tied together so both were able to develop together. mr heart was a little more rushed but they got acquainted in the first episode so it was still believable that they could develop feelings in the time frame. but in wish you i felt like they barely got to know each other, and there was barely a plot overall so it just felt very empty.
