considering every other korean bl has been on viki i would be shocked if it wasn't. viki also isn't very consistent…
weird i wonder why it won't be on viki. and the subs on the trailer made me feel like i was having a stroke i was like why does this not make any sense. i really think they just put it through google translate which is crazy because i think most of the viewers of these korean bls are international
It's a Korean show, they are obviously going to care about the history. If you cannot respect their culture, you…
"expect for white people history because you know that shit be fake because they always be taking credit for someone else's hard work" that's such a tone deaf take. sure there are plenty of white people who took advantage of other people in order to benefit but like holy shit there have been white people whose entire family history back to the middle ages has been nothing but poverty and survival. maybe i'm salty cause my family is irish and they were taken advantage of and put down by england for centuries but like. please do not act like the millions of people who fought to better their lives and free themselves from oppressor groups always had it easy because they were white
Tbh the plot can create a lot of problems if isn't handle with sensitivity. It's a teacher and student relationship…
if it actually tells the story in a honest way that shows how predatory a teacher pursuing a student is, then i'm fine with it, but if they romanticize it (like i think they will)...gross
So many noona romance coming! I love it! Maybe not everyone, but I find it very hypocrite when people complain…
i don't think this qualifies as a noona romance, or even a romance at all. a noona romance would be closer in age, you wouldn't call your teacher noona...not to mention this show appears to be about an older woman taking advantage of a younger man (she's in a position of authority over him) as opposed to like a healthy relationship where the woman just happens to be older
i feel like the description is a little unclear so here is a hopefully clearer summary:
ho sun and hwa jin are set to be married, but hwa jin doesn't want to be married for political reasons, so her brother ki wan takes her place. when ho sun finds out, he attempts to call off the wedding, but his mother (who believes ki wan to be a woman) supports the marriage, and ho sun goes through with marriage for her sake, keeping it a secret from everyone that ki wan is actually a man.
i saw some questions about it so i just want to clarify that it appears the love story does not begin until after they are married, and based on the synopsis ho sun definitely knows ki wan is a man before any love story begins.
Hopefully people from outside of Asia will be able to watch the show (yes, I know VPN exist), because still no…
considering every other korean bl has been on viki i would be shocked if it wasn't. viki also isn't very consistent about how far in advance they announce dramas so i wouldn't worry about it, i'm confident it will be there
Imo, cancelling a FICTIONAL drama (which very clearly states it is fiction before every single episode) essentially…
and it's not like the people portrayed are currently living they died hundred and hundreds of years ago it's so strange to me that people care how they are portrayed
Song Kang does all the ballet scenes himself or do they use a stuntman?
based on the convenient camera angles they used a body double. idk anything about song kang but unless he has some hidden past as a trained dancer he definitely couldn't do this stuff. i am curious about who does the dancing tho. i'm hoping they'll tell us in a behind the scenes video or something
That's a really good question. I'm sure people watch them in South Korea because I remember an idol group bringing…
that's not a great example. frozen flower (which is a film, not a drama btw) is like a massive anomaly in gay media in korea. basically it garnered a lot of attention for being so shocking (think how 50 shades of gray was a huge deal and is commonly referenced despite it not being well-liked or even as watched by the general public as most other blockbuster movies). it displayed a gay relationship (shocking in korea), explicit sexual content (shocking in korea), and if you've watched it, the overall plot is quite shocking (even in countries like the usa where the gay content or sexual content would not be shocking)(i know i was quite horrified by the ending). basically, it got a lot of attention, but it's important to know that it was treated by many as either a joke (laughed at, not taken seriously) or as...gross, basically. if idols are talking about it, it's almost a guarantee that they haven't actually watched it but have only heard about it because it got so much attention. it's one of the few pieces of gay media in the korean mainstream so it's kind of referenced as the default (which i would argue is a bad thing because it does not paint a picture of a healthy relationship by any means) as far as bls like you make me dance go, because they're only online and only advertised online, if you're not already into bl you almost definitely haven't heard of it, but i'm not sure exactly how many koreans are into bl, so it's hard to say.
i guess it was about on par with mr. heart. good, nothing special.
more importantly: i'm honestly started to get annoyed with all the comments about it being too short. longer does not always mean better. it's been proven (wyel, to my star) that korean bls can be short and really, really good. if those ones were longer it easily could have taken away from the story with obnoxious drama and additional characters or plots that would distract and lower the meaningfulness of the story. they can also be rushed and awkward (wish you). of course when we watch a good one we want more of it, but sometimes i really don't think people know what they're asking for...
when it comes to film making, stretching a small budget to make a longer show would guarantee lower quality. worse sets, worse cameras, lower salaries for the actors and crew. complaining about korean bls not being long enough when they only started being regularly made in the last year is just...so ridiculous. the quality of writing, directing, and acting is already far exceeding many thai, filipino, chinese, and japanese bls. to complain about them being too short is just so unnecessary, and frankly i think it's probably very discouraging for those responsible for making the dramas, who are doing what they can with the budget they have. if we want longer bls, we need to continue to support them financially so they can afford to make longer ones, not complain about it in comments sections of their instagram pages.
i'm not actually that into dark stuff or thrillers, i just want it to be consistent. i just want to know what the show is going to be like in the first episode rather than having to watch multiple to even know what the genre is going to be if that makes sense?
has anyone noticed that kdramas have super exciting and interesting first episodes and then in the second episode immediately turn into a rom-com no matter how they started in the first episode?? like the first episode of this show was so dark and disturbing and then the second episode was a lighthearted comedy romp. wtf is the deal with that. i noticed the same thing in descendants of the sun, action packed and fun in the first episode, rom-com in the second
the people commenting about forgiving him are kind of gross. it's not our place to forgive him, he didn't do anything to any of us. the victims of the situation can choose whether they want to forgive him, but fans need to stop making it about themselves.
even though we don't have proof of every single thing he did, we have proof that he clearly did something wrong, as evidenced by his confession. it's not our place to forgive him or punish him, all we can do is support the victims, so let's try to do that please.
