I mean he is privileged and is thinking about himself but he's not letting that affect Teh. Oh is just feeling…
yeah but like, it's good to prioritize yourself, so long as it's not hurting other people. i think oh-aew needs to figure out his situation before worrying about teh too much
i don't see why it happening in other genres makes it okay? shouldn't we criticize those too, instead of just…
i agree! and just to clarify i've actually watched both tharntype and lbc and while i didn't love tharntype i did really love like 95% of lbc (i think it's pretty obvious which parts i didn't like lol), and i pretty much check out everything in the bl genre (i haven't rated them all but i've watched like. everything lol) so i tend to come across stuff defending mame pretty often, and i actually rarely say anything, but i felt like your comment was reasonable enough that we could meet halfway. some of the comments i see about mame are just like "actually the problematic scenes are sexy" which is definitely not worth responding to. anyway have a nice day/night

i think it's fine if people watch stuff like this, i just think we should be willing to criticize it and acknowledge its flaws, even if we enjoy it. there are plenty of books, dramas, and movies that i enjoy that i also think deserve criticism. if fans of the content continue to criticize it, it will change to meet demand. good stories can be written without the romanticization of rape. also the idea that all/most of it is problematic, therefore none of it should be criticized is just not logical. if most or all of it is problematic, most or all of it should be criticized. that doesn't mean you can't read or watch it, just that we should be willing to call out writers on the problematic aspects.
the point is that fans are unwilling to even acknowledge that some of it is pretty morally questionable, and instead blindly support it without considering the impact it could have (fiction does not exist in a vacuum!! it informs, and is informed by, the real world) also i think the comparison to murder isn't a strong one, because basically everyone on planet earth thinks murder is wrong (outside of self defense), but there are definitely people who will make excuses for rapists/romanticize it in the real world (as i said in my original comment, "most people know it's wrong and most treat it as wrong")
the unfortunate reality is there are definitely people who don't treat it as wrong, and rape is the most underreported crime because there is shame associated with admitting you were assaulted, because victims are often blamed. fictional stories inform people's views on topics like rape, and when they can imagine a reality where a victim and perpetrator end up happily-ever-after, they will be less likely to see it as a vicious disregard for bodily autonomy, as it actually is.
my bottom line is that we should stop making excuses for writers who create content that could negatively influence people's lives in a very serious way, and that no one is free from criticism. i hope i made sense, i'm not a great writer!
does anyone know where i can find the deleted scenes for this movie? i saw a couple in various places but i'd like to see a full compilation if possible
I know Mama writes non-consensual and toxic things, I myself was disgusted with TTS s2 while being a waanjai,…
i don't see why it happening in other genres makes it okay? shouldn't we criticize those too, instead of just ignoring the romanticization of rape altogether? also yes it happens in the real world, but in the real world most people know it's wrong and most treat it as wrong. in the stories mame writes, she treats it as morally permissible, which is very different. in any case, i don't think criticizing the writer will negatively effect the actors. just look at the other dramas she has written for, most of the actors are very successful. the reality is that people don't care that what's depicted is wrong, they will watch it anyway. it's honestly quite sad.
Can someone please explain to me what really happen in the end cause I really don’t understand what happen in…
in addition to what nessynesesness said, for yong joon (and the mom), watching soo hyun go through that was super traumatic, to the point where you can't really just continue where you left off in the relationship. yong joon seemingly at some point accepted that soo hyun might die or never wake up, so it's pretty much impossible to go back to normal. it's pretty open ended though, they have room to rebuild their relationship, but the main idea is that things are different after something as huge and life changing as that happened, and they need to figure out how to act around each other again, and decide where to go from there. in my eyes, it's a realistic but happy ending, not overly fairytale-esque, but positive and hopeful.
literally just put two and two together that shax fans are called "fins" because shax is like "sharks" why did that take me like two whole weeks to figure out
