SRQ on paper is someone I should fall in love with. he has classic tragic hero traits. all his family got annihilated, he was castrated and he has a rightous journey towards revenge. in another show he could be the ML.
but here don't know whether it's the actor not doing well or it was intentioally acted this way but I dislike him so much and I want CP to antagonize him all the way and thwart all his machinations.
he seems to want to make a trophy wife out of the FL. for someone who was her "companion" for 17 years he truly didn't know her.
I had SML syndrome sp many times before before but I am safe here. ML respecting and supporting his wife 's ambitions makes him one of the best MLs.

XL never missing a chance to remind me why I hate that character so damn much. that world has magic and phoenixes but it could really benefit from anger management therapy.

I agree. I don't think people would have been that disgustingly flippant about a women getting drugged by her own family and r****. it's a culture thing as well. some people don't think boys CAN get SA.
but yeah as soon as I saw that rhetoric taking place here I took a break from this comment section for a while ngl. it was a disturbing environment and I feel for people who could have been triggered by that.
I only knew recently that blocking was a possibility so maybe i'll start doing that this time around but hopefully it won't get that ugly again.

I am not talking about disliking jing. that's quite legitimate and you are well within your rights to feel he is shady or whatever and others are free to disagree. I dislike so many characters on this show including XL because of multiple reasons that I have stated back when.
I am specifically refering to the hate train that is quite from what I observed motivated by stanning wars.
and no to answer I have never went on weibo and knew nothing about cdramas before I randomly started watching. I was first into kdramas and I don't believe it was this bad. but I was not on mdl back then so prolly just the same and i was just blissfully unaware. So yeah was quite a weird environment at first not quite dissimilar to kpop wars.
And no I am not interested in the entertainment industry aspect of it all. but to each their own and people enjoy what they enjoy. just not my thing and i prefer to avoid arguing with hardcore stans as much as possible . having dishonest discussions driven by agendas is not something I want to indulge in. I wasted enough time on kpop.

I find that revealing about how toxic stanning culture is because imo,
people hate on him for a one quite simple reason : they stan someone else.
as I observed, a lot of people here are stans of the actors as well and have a vested interest in the popularity of their character.
I used to be a BTS army at some point so I witnessed firsthand how stans rivalry could lead to shaming demeaning other idols. I didn't think I'd find that in cdrama land but here we are.
I personally couldn't care less about the actors career and i'm only here for the story.
So I learned in S1 that it was pointless to argue with stans. I am here to comment about the story , I would say what I like and what I dislike regardless. maybe fangirl about my favorite characters with some fellow like-minded people. But I don't care if they hate on Jing. He is one of the reasons I love this show and that wont change because of other people's rage.

I am always in awe of how kind Jing is. rarely do we get an male romatic lead with this quality. Usually it's a characteristic of the FL. Seriously, the way he watches over people discreetly and without expecting any credit, talks to his maid as a friend not as a servant, visits his old friends every few years to check up on them, sends people to console his jilted love rival . it's the little things but his empathy and big heart is something rarely celebrated in men.

I Literally had to click at my player at one point to check the time because I thought the episode ended too quickly. the editing is just pretty random.
and the qin scene was meant to illicit some emotional response cuz that's the Chen song but instead I burst out laughing and then fastforwarded it because the cringe was just too much to bear. LMAO and you're right it was like a low effort idol lipsyncing in a "live" concert . I read the actor is actually a singer so he could have sang the sequence live without the dramatic laughable qin playing . Better yet cut that scene all together . There was prolly no saving it.

Maybe I am not remembering correctly but I used to find the pacing of Lost you forever just about right. These episodes of season 2 are not what I had in mind. I don't remember the editing was bad before but it is with these episodes.
The qin playing sequence could only be described as one of the cringiest most laughable scenes . truly unbefitting a show of this quality. I don't know how the actors actually agreed to go through with it in that form.
And the last episode as well we also got some pretty weird cuts...
