In that case I am afraid because the script ruins CX's character. the reveal about his actions is one the best things in the novel. if we don't have that in the drama . it will feel quite inferior to the novel. crossing fingers that they don't do that.
can someone who read the leaked script tell me whether it's following it or not? till now it is following the novel with some minor variations. so I hope they won't ruin it by going with that script.

I don't mean to guilt anyone for having different preferences. this is all fictional after all. I find it so disingenuous to bring up Dahuang standards to justify abuse and try to compare it to jing's case cuz as a general rule of thumb, being SA's and forced to marry your assaulter is wrong by any standard. and I would say qualifying "cheating" on your r**st as an "affair" wouldn't bode well with modern standards. And we wouldn't know about Dahuang standards because I haven't seen anyone yet in the show calling it an "affair" yet. You bring up incidents of XL apologizing after the fact as if that makes it better. in my mind it makes it worse cuz it just proves he is capable of rational thought and knowing what he has done isn't acceptable... even by dahuang standards it seems. But he can't help himself in the moment. Having other instances of lucidity especially when it comes to people he don't feel passionaly about , and certainly not compared to XY , doesn't remove the anger issues he has. maybe with his last moments I will feel better about him. but till then , I understand we have radically different outlooks here and I'll leave it at that.

Maybe basic decency lessons about how it's bad to be physically abusive towards women are more urgently needed for him . Harsh words and his actions, telling her the truth about jing too are more than enough to drive her away. maybe treating her like an adult who is capable of making decisions as well. he didn't need that heart clenching attack . it just felt gratuitous and in line with his pattern of brief outbursts of violence towards her. Also nah I remember how he easily snaps into devil mode with red eyes when she mentions his mentor and savior. so anger management can also benefit him .

I had a difficuly with PWX with the earlier episodes but that speech he made to SGY when LR established the inspectorate office made me understand him and appreciate him .

no one deserves to be jilted in front of his peers and family. and be the talk of town and gossip. whether he loved her or not he never made any insincere confessions.
SRQ on paper is someone I should fall in love with. he has classic tragic hero traits. all his family got annihilated, he was castrated and he has a rightous journey towards revenge. in another show he could be the ML. but here don't know whether it's the actor not doing well or it was intentioally acted this way but I dislike him so much and I want CP to antagonize him all the way and thwart all his machinations. he seems to want to make a trophy wife out of the FL. for someone who was her "companion" for 17 years he truly didn't know her. I had SML syndrome sp many times before before but I am safe here. ML respecting and supporting his wife 's ambitions makes him one of the best MLs.
XL never missing a chance to remind me why I hate that character so damn much. that world has magic and phoenixes but it could really benefit from anger management therapy.
