THIS! he manipulated her and took advantage of her vulnerable self. if she forgave him that easily it would have been a strong case of Stockholm Syndrome. Glad the writers are validating her feelings of betrayal and giving her space to go back to her old self.
I don't understand the demand for a "balanced" suffering. first of all humans are not all the same and people react differently so it's ridiculous to expect both ML and FL to mourn their relationship the same or have the same feelings for each other. And second it's ML that's at fault here, so FL's reaction is incredibly legitimate. I'm glad they didn't make her love sick it would have been so out of character and ridiculous after everything ML made her go through.

if they want to off someone's head unnecessarily like all cdramas endings they can kill off ziyu or his wife I couldn't care less.

lmao it is very refreshing. I felt so much joy with those moments with her uncle . it's so nice seeing an FL not having her life shattered because of a breakup with a man. she has ambitions of her own , and a more urgent matter to attend to.
idk but I also after reading some of "hateful" the comments , am falling of more in love with FL lol.
ML hasn't bought enough creds in my books for me to like him yet. I will say i am enjoying his suffering

ML didn't know she was a bandit. for him she was a concubine of a bandit who was kidnapped by him 3 years ago.
I don't blame him for the initial lies because howerver morally grey that was, from his point of view she was an important chess piece , but afterwards when SML capitulated, there was no longer a reason for the scam . first he tried to arrange her life for her and find her a husband, then arranged to marry her for real once he thought he started to love her. all that while still LITERALLY planting false memories in an amnesiac women and basically playing with her vulnerable brain. not to mention how the fact that he pretended to be her husband in that period in time means for a woman.
the level of deceit and cowardice should logically make it hard for her to forgive him.

I personally would never be able to forgive him lmao. but as this is a fictional cdrama, the best result would be for FL to make him suffer as long as possible from a narrative stand point till she can feel like being able to move on and have her happy ending with him.

FINALLY the episodes of reckoning I was most looking for. I hate that we're getting 1 episode for day. can't wait for the confrontation. hope FL makes ML hurt for quite a bit of time. he deserves it.

I disagree. from what I see (in ep 17 especially) he is literally planting false memories on someone who is completely and utterly vulnerable and dependant on him.
I agree with you on the start that his actions may have been be justified for the "greater good" at least from hus point of view but now continuing the charade just spells moral corruption.
He is a coward at best, Despicable at worst.
and what relationship? the one where she think she is legally married and allowed him liberties that could absolutely ruin her in that time period regardless of whether he took advantage of her sexually or not.

Nah to me, the only angst I got from that scene is the FL's realization that she had been completely used and manipulated. He is willingly planting false memories and hurting her so I cannot sympathize with him one bit.
