I agree . that part of him agreeing to slaughter a whole ass house gull of children and women made it clear how his nature is very violant and dark.
so I take him for who he us the morally gray murderous vengeful protag
.
I don't need to idolize my protagonists for me to enjoy their stories and I think this gives his character more dimension that the typical noble ML.

Yeah the story is repetitive and have been done better before. everyone taking themselves way too seriously is a bit ridiculous.
BUT I like the FL's personality and ML is ✨HOT✨ and cool . Generally good acting all around especially ML . that's plenty enough for me.
