so refreshing that their "feud" is about ideology more than just love stuff. i mean i know there is will be a child that is part of the reason but having ideology be the main part is a bold choice.

I believe that by the end of it, we would have witnessed a well fleshed out character arc that feels earned . he has so much learn and experience

I also am not a big fan of xianxia to begin with . last time I actually liked one with lost you forever S1 (we don't talk about S2 in this household 🤣) and that's not a xianxia even ,more like xuanhuan. but yeah I hated all the big ones people loved.
This one actually breaks the codes. so it is interesting! well once you move past the first 10 eps

well I didn't read the producer warning so I was like, oh a naive FL, a cold all powerful ML, the cliché SFL that is pursuing ML, the cringy sect that forbids love between immortal and demons for the heck of it. So yeah I was fully fooled 🤣.
I say it was a mistake because I know that if this was released in a week where I was pretty busy I would have dropped it after the first 4 episodes , but I persevered mainly because I hadn't watched a proper drama in a while and had time at my hand. only for this to be the most surprising Xianxia in years. and as you said you ACTUALLY use your brains! that whole scene of them debating was incredible and made so much sense.
I will learn to be more patient in the future 😭😭

I truly think they made a big mistake with the first 10 episodes pacing. Hell , I almost dropped it and gave it a 6 at some point. LITTLE DID I KNOW the following episodes proved that it is NOTHING like your standard tired xianxia crap. it has a BIG twist, characters that are way more deep than what I initially thought them to be (looking at you SFL). and the whole thing is actually a battle between two radically different philosophies of life and nature , properly layed out and embodied by the ML and FL.
if this taught me one thing it is to not dismiss a show until halfway through. I really think the beginning was detrimental as I am afraid some watchers might have also dismissed this when in fact it has the potential to be a xianxia masterpiece.

For a vertical short, this was straight to the point and entertaining

I really had nothing to watch since the glory. So I really wanted to like this. and maybe I would have if I haven't watched similar shows with more of less same plotline. blossoms in adversity comes to mind which a vastly superior show.
And also ML sucks. I can't believe he is already exhibiting jealousy this quickly
FL is just ridiculous . And dancing in the rain was the type of cringy scene I would have expected in 2010. I literally rolled my eyes.
so yeah. Hopefully something better gets released soon.
