HRY is a rare FL indeed. She observed that not only there is injustice , but that it is systemic and her own kind is actually complicit. then she actually experienced being at the end of oppression by "heaven's laws". Her rage being directed at the ML is not only because ,from her perspective, he was the main reason she experienced the greatest loss in mother's life , that of her child, but also since he is one of old guards of the current oppressive system. so her actions is not only personal revenge imo but a will to topple a oppressive system. and that's why I think that at the end the real villains will be the Empyreans. She is also rare because of her careful planning , spanning over centuries. we rarely get meticulous strategists as FLs. Ultimately ,She will have to learn to forgive and learn to love again and that will be her character arc .
when a mother lose a child unjustly, she will go to extremely length to get that justice back, because it’s…
well said ! he needed to shift his perspective and learn empathy with those he once compared to ants in order for the loss of child to actually mean something to him.
We are really witnessing one of the greatest character development of an ML in a xianxia EVER. it's whole change in ideology . I think i never watched a xianxia where a philosophical theme be the primary focus of story progression . generally it's falling in love, meeting friends , loneliness , gods vs demons etc..
omg this ! so refreshing that their "feud" is about ideology more than just love stuff. i mean i know there is will be a child that is part of the reason but having ideology be the main part is a bold choice.
Its messed upbstory telling.. but so far this is one of few xianxia that i watch pass ep 3😅
I also am not a big fan of xianxia to begin with . last time I actually liked one with lost you forever S1 (we don't talk about S2 in this household 🤣) and that's not a xianxia even ,more like xuanhuan. but yeah I hated all the big ones people loved. This one actually breaks the codes. so it is interesting! well once you move past the first 10 eps
well said but i think the beginning was still perfect, because once we overlook some tiny details like the CGI…
well I didn't read the producer warning so I was like, oh a naive FL, a cold all powerful ML, the cliché SFL that is pursuing ML, the cringy sect that forbids love between immortal and demons for the heck of it. So yeah I was fully fooled 🤣. I say it was a mistake because I know that if this was released in a week where I was pretty busy I would have dropped it after the first 4 episodes , but I persevered mainly because I hadn't watched a proper drama in a while and had time at my hand. only for this to be the most surprising Xianxia in years. and as you said you ACTUALLY use your brains! that whole scene of them debating was incredible and made so much sense. I will learn to be more patient in the future 😭😭
I truly think they made a big mistake with the first 10 episodes pacing. Hell , I almost dropped it and gave it a 6 at some point. LITTLE DID I KNOW the following episodes proved that it is NOTHING like your standard tired xianxia crap. it has a BIG twist, characters that are way more deep than what I initially thought them to be (looking at you SFL). and the whole thing is actually a battle between two radically different philosophies of life and nature , properly layed out and embodied by the ML and FL. if this taught me one thing it is to not dismiss a show until halfway through. I really think the beginning was detrimental as I am afraid some watchers might have also dismissed this when in fact it has the potential to be a xianxia masterpiece.
Only way I could actually like this FL or the story even is of she is actually pretending. Otherwise it's one of the most unimpressive Bai Lu characters she has ever been.
I am sick and tired of waiting for this drama to air. Like every show on air in which I could be potentially interested is literal SHIT. And every new drama announcement is either deeply uninteresting to me or is bound to be SHIT. TIREEEEDDDDDDD

now I wish i started this later when all episodes are available cuz how am I supposed to wait

I especially liked the SML's role here
