I love how every characted is multifaceted. not just the FL and ML. nothing seems to be black and white. a sign of well thought out show. so far I am not skipping a thing.

Downside: FL and ML don't know how to kiss lmao. but otherwise their chemistry is superbe.

I can't chose between Furong and Fenglei as my favorite character here. I wanted more of both of them at the end. they were a delight to watch.

THIS IS HOW YOU DO AN ENDING. i literally couldn't believe at ep 38 that we still had another episode to look forward to. so gratifying.

I rarely watch modern dramas especially school settings so idk about that. but I will be watching out for her new things.

This is such an unexpected drama. I didn't have it at all in my radar. and I am so happy about it.
I now have this and Legend of shen to look forward to yaaaay.
Hope the quality stays this way. I have dropped too many shows to count lately lmao.

Can I just express how much I am in love with the FL? Her competence and courage is blowing me away.
with that scene in the boat all I could think about in my head is how I was craving FLs being potrayed as actual heroines with "classic hero" qualities . notably COURAGE. This is one of few times that we get a courageous FL who isn't necessarily physically strong. But just has a clear purpose in mind.

I am immensly impressed with the actress. Such natural acting . I watched her before in fall in love and I had the same impression. There is a this calm mature presence that she has. and it's a huge contrast from the cutesy cringe worthy FLs we get 90% of the time with c-dramas.

ML is literally perfect. I can't think of another actor who played a deity with the same gravitas. just the way he *slooooowly* walks should be mandatory learning material to those younger actors.

On the positive side:
-ML is incredible in this . I liked the actor before from his role in destined where he played a villain and here he transitions successfully to the role of a righteous lead.
-SML is hot I love his sharp eyes
-intriguing story, engaging cases with intelligent leads.
-FL has brains and uses them constantly.

my turn to rant:
I like the story a lot but the actress playing FL isn't good in this and bears zero ressemblance in mannerisms to the first actress. I would have thought there would have been an effort made by both actresses to have similar physicalities and gestures especially since ML is supposed to be reminded of his wife when looking at FL but it's just too unbelievable and hinders the quality of an otherwise good show.
I didn't mind the glaring face swap plot hole and shrugged it off to maybe an error in translation and that they prolly meant body swap or soul swap but at least acting wise try to act similar ffs.
and yeah idc about the fanwars or whatever first FL had infinitely better chemistry with ML and acted more mature which is naturally how FL should be when u look at her past trauma and her work. Current FL has doey
eyes and is too invested in that pure nice FL act and it's just ridiculous.
But I actually blame the acting on both actresses, they should have got together in a room and agreed on how to forge some noticeable similarities.

I want him to know already but from ep 18 trailer it doesnt seem to be the case. I hope I'm wrong.

it's complicated but yeah marriage concellation will also be pretty late in the game .
and I agree in SOKP we got action pretty late but it was satisfying af if they follow the novel it should be the same here too.

FL's fiance will be interested in the SML 👀

it's a VERY faithful adaptation.

30 ep in my opinion. The marriage will not directly be canceled by the ML but the cancellation will decreed naturally following a specific event.

imo it'll be in the later part of the series like after ep 30.

The love triangle won't factor much because the FL never considers the SML. and he turns out to be disloyal anyhow .
ML and FL won't be together for a long time since the ML is a god who shouldn't be in love . but once they do get together there won't be any misunderstanding.

I didn't like how ultimately for a novel about a legedary female character, the ML had to be infinitely stronger and came to the rescue multiple times.
Also typical SML arc . the only saving grace was the BL angle that prolly won't see the time of the day in the show.
but very happy ending so I couldn't ask for more and will be happily watching the journey unfold in the show 🤣🤣🤣

I just finished reading the novel lmao couldn't wait to know how things are heading. I have some reservations about some stuff (i'll put it in spoilers below)
But overall it was a nice read. good MCs with principles and an actual ending.
