seriously this drama has such stellar cast. 👏👏 and the plot/writing is one of the best we got this year tbh.
Only thing I find fault in is choice of lighting in flashbacks and past and some dubious transitions.

That was actually such a nice touch and made the whole scene have much more gravitas. this drama is giving supporting roles proper motivations and aren't here just to cheerlead on CP.
I also was expecting XW or YL to save him. our brains have been corrupted by dramas lmao.

yan mu is the goat btw. that whole scene with xie wei with the ancestors brought me down to tears. and him protecting Zhang zhe 🥹.

EXACTLY. In that he differs so much from the usual arrogant cold ML we get all the time. also he actually discusses things, has actual respect for FL and listens to her ideas.
