the makeup/costume department isn't great in general in this drama. I just appreciate that a character can physically look that they are suffering when they actually are in a scene. that's something I liked with lost you forever too. FL there was allowed to be in rugged clothing and close to zero makeup when she was dressing up as a boy.
it's something I notice a lot in dramas because of too many offenders. actors has to look their best in any given moment lmao.

cinematography direction and lighting is the biggest weakness of this drama. this kinda plot deserved better.

One thing I like abt this drama is how unglamorous the actors are allowed to be when the situation calls for it. like XW looks proper sickly here. ZZ disheveled and XJG has no makeup and jewelry (natural makeup anyway). in so many other dramas FL has a permanent lipstick and eyeliner even on the run and MLs have orange eyeshadow even when fighting for their lives.

lmao ridiculous. I believe long term this drama will shine for its quality and acting. and more people will tell him he did a great job. cuz apologizing for this performance is outrageous.

I love XJN . such a decisive FL. she makes things happen like no other. very aware of her surroundings and quick to puck up on things. she makes me fall in love with her a little more by each new episode.

exactly. their relationship is on the healthier side in the sea of toxic romances in cdramas. It might be toxic in the novel but I haven't read it and going only by the show, they respect each other's intellect and listen to each other advices. as far as how the show is potraying him, XW is greenflag in his love relationship . JXN is 100% herself with him and he accepts her and loves her as she is.

I am shook as well with the level of intelligence of multiple characters. got disappointed too many times with historical shows playing kid level politics.
This might be the best plot of a romance costume drama this year
