I agree that ML need to grow in order to earn the position. Now he is still lacking in experience and maturity. 2ML isnt protecting ML. but he is giving him purpose I agree with that also. As for you last point, many people seem to like SML despite having him as a plot antagonist and that's alright. we each have our preferences.

That's simply your view. he hasn't been shown to be a complex character. wearing black all the time and sitting in broody postures doesn't quality him for that yet. he has more experience than ML but if sword wield is like a president, having more experience isn't the sole most important characteric. ideally compassion and caring about others in your family/country should matter. and he hasn't been shown to care for anyone other than his brother yet. He bullied the ML and took him less than 2 seconds after elder death to make it about the sword wielder position. As for personaly preference, I am on the other spectrum . I wish there was actually a trend of puppy MLs . we had a few good natured MLs this year thankfully but not enough to balance the usual OPied broody ML that were default for so many years.

People can have their opinions it doesn't bother me. I like ML for his kind and humane side and it wouldn't bother me if he is actually physically weak till the end because That's not what I value most in my MLs or FLs tbh. imo, i think too many people are sadly used to OP unrealistic MLs who are dark and broody and emotionally constipated and I guess SML fits that more lmao.
