I think best case scenario we can hope for is FL gaining her freedom.

Being distrusting by nature doesn't mean he figured out anything. he still married an assassin from a batch full of innocent ladies. That he said he doesnt think YWS is who she says she is with zero evidence only based a hunch is again not a logical conclusion based on facts. and prolly because he doesn't trust ML judgement.

I agree that ML need to grow in order to earn the position. Now he is still lacking in experience and maturity.
2ML isnt protecting ML. but he is giving him purpose I agree with that also.
As for you last point, many people seem to like SML despite having him as a plot antagonist and that's alright. we each have our preferences.

That's simply your view. he hasn't been shown to be a complex character. wearing black all the time and sitting in broody postures doesn't quality him for that yet. he has more experience than ML but if sword wield is like a president, having more experience isn't the sole most important characteric. ideally compassion and caring about others in your family/country should matter. and he hasn't been shown to care for anyone other than his brother yet. He bullied the ML and took him less than 2 seconds after elder death to make it about the sword wielder position.
As for personaly preference, I am on the other spectrum . I wish there was actually a trend of puppy MLs . we had a few good natured MLs this year thankfully but not enough to balance the usual OPied broody ML that were default for so many years.

I like ML for his kind and humane side and it wouldn't bother me if he is actually physically weak till the end because That's not what I value most in my MLs or FLs tbh.
imo, i think too many people are sadly used to OP unrealistic MLs who are dark and broody and emotionally constipated and I guess SML fits that more lmao.

it was suspicious from day 1 that a gardian that powerful was assigned to a meer second child and not to the heir apparent or the previous sword wielder. ithey have so much yet to explain i worry that the 15 episodes left wont be enough and we'll have a rushed ending

I love both GZY and Jin Fan so my ass was rooting for both in that fight.

FL thinking of her raven as a mother had me in tears. She went through so much and yeah her raven is shown to genuinely care for her in a parental capacity 😭😭😭

SML is the most boring one note character in the show. Meanie bully who fancies himself a bit more cunning that he actually is.
SFL I like though. Her background is still all mysterious and can explain so much of her attitude. So far she is a competent spy and a great actress.
I still think she has more chemistry with GYZ than actual SML.

After watching the mv , I need a breakdown of all the fights and the stabbings . Looks like so many events are gonna happen. can't fathom how they will jam all of it in 24 episodes.

when they described ML's meridians, they said it was different from other people not weak. Couple that with his aversion to the cold , I think he might unlock some great power within him at some point.
also in his birth certificate, it was said that something was changed maybe it's related to this and not his parentage. we'll see.

True. They didn't show SGQ exchange with her raven about how to handle the poison. So it leaves a bit of doubt. Also I think that FL's raven is shown to care a bit about her idk.
