oh my god i just saw the trailer. this must be the best trailer i saw this year for real. so imaginative and well executed. hope the story is good as well. i can't believe this is the same actress from LBFAD. will he anticipating this.
I thought the master strategist was Ren Anle . But the drama gave that role to official Luo instead. cdramas seem to love depriving their heroines of full agency . It happened with the long ballad , with who rules the world and now this. I am still enjoying the drama. Just disappointed that Anle doesn't live up to the promise of the novel.

I was surprised when I saw we had like more than 15 min to check with every important character. with costume dramas we're lucky if we get 1 min of the main leads in the same frame at the end that is IF it's a happy ending in the first place as it is seldom the case.

no i don't follow your reasonning at all. General Zhou has been shown time and time again to be loyal to the bone and sticker to rules. he would have needed a big justification like having his family be killed to rebel. GJS only deduced that the order was fake. no proof to offer. General Zhou only knows that fan yu is fickle and aimless but will not go as far as think that he wants him killed especially knowing their history together. I actually like the writing for this drama . and yes there were some plot holes here and there. but certainly not what you mentioned.
ok watched the first 4 episodes and this looks very promising. FL is playing 4 dimensional chess. one of most strategic FLs we got in cdramaland. I love the ML presence as well. he is someone who cares and not one of those aloof toxic MLs with a heart of stone. I can ignore the production related stuff if the story stays engaging.
The new episodes have been STELLAR. i even think they are outdoing themselves in this last arc. rarely has a cdrama make me care about so many characters. I cried for general qin . I felt every emotion with general Zhou. a true testament to how the actors gave everything in this drama and really believed in the story. even the villains are not one dimensional. the young emperor is indeed evil but also very conflicted and is not bloodthirsty. Luo Zi Zhang is actually COMPETENT in his evilness and very strategic. From the teasers , we are getting a satisfying ending . i hope it is indeed that way and this serie end on a great note.
omg i just saw the new trailer and it's hilarious . we rarely get a brazen flirty FL who is also competent and not boy crazed. I suspect that her attitude is part of an act here which makes it even better. I just hope the story is actually coherent and engaging (from the novel summary it's the stuff i like most) and for youku get their act together with the subs cuz I will be skipping till we get good translations.
last week of destined. this has been by far my fave costume drama of 2023. i hope the last episodes don't disappoint so i can come back to it from time to time.
