She is her own ancestor. It reminds me of the German time-travel series Dark, where one of the characters there…
that's what i thought as well at first but no way will china approve a messy situation like that so either he adopted someone who completed the bloodline after her return/death or the ancestor was never him and it's his servant/companion who fabricated the story down the line so this course of action can happen. we see the ML knowing their story in teasers so maybe their history isn't correct

I have a question regarding the OST. There's a scene where the ML's engraving his and the FL's names on a divine tablet that ends up with they're souls intertwining (basically an eternal marriage situation) and getting retribution. Since he's writing her disguised name i'm guessing it's before he knows the truth so does this mean he's getting retribution cz her feelings aren't real yet or cz it's the wrong name and this is a sham relationship. I'd like to think this is actually post identity reveal when he's trying to prove his feelings for her for forgiveness and by writing her other name, he's saying this relationship he built with her is real to him

bruh he was literally already in modern times in first episode the female lead was chasing him
yesssss i've been waiting for it as well. i thought you meant a completed drama but definitely waiting at the edge of my seat for this one to come out (especially cz they both are transmigrating so the return to modern times with memories for each one makes sense for once. (china's regulations only allow modern endings even if the novel ends differently)

Also important to note we don't know when she leaves, maybe they have a child and her and her family only leave…
do you see the opening song? she leaves while young so either she just gave birth and the family left or they wrote it off as death (there was fire behind her so explains no body found) and he remarried to ensure they exist in the future (meaning she was never lady shen but an untold first wife so they don't mess up the timeline by knowing they'd end up in the past)
On Yummy Yummy Yummy Oct 10, 2025
Something I don't get is if the FL is the "lady shen" wife of the ML (the ancestor) then she has to have a child before returning to modern times to complete the bloodline. if not then the ML must've married someone else afterwards. But then, leaving her child is not a happy ending either and i don't think their time in the past will reach that point so i'm conflicted as to how this will work out cz it's a direct effect on their family unless it's a coma (but then how will he remember as well)

he didn’t poisoned her, she was already poisoned before the competition. She’s gonna get cured according to…
ok novel ML sounds like an ass and i'm not sure how i feel about the FL going back to him. glad they changed his setting here cz i would've dropped this so fast.
On Love in the Clouds Oct 10, 2025
so some points i'd like to ask novel readers before i start this, does the fl get cured from the poison? if so, is it before or after the reveal? does she fall for the ML while acting (like he did) or only realizes it post identity reveal? lastly, who is the one doing the chasing to get back together (i feel like she should cz her secret feels like a betrayal for him but if it's him then why?- did he actually poison her and needs to ask for forgiveness?)

but it's not the same person unless after she gets back, he'll get his memories too but what about the rest of the bonds created? at least here the family will remember too so that's a bonus rather just the leads.

my only problem with transmigration c-dramas are the fact that they need to end in going back to the modern world or death. the vibe of this is going back but since he is their ancestor, i dont think he'll be there in modern world. Also, what's the point of all the relationships and memories formed if no one but the lead remembers? i can't even skip the last episode cz i need closure which makes this so sad cz so many plots are worth it. if the novels are green lit with non modern endings why can't dramas be the same? i hate that the endings need to change even if the novels were liked
On Love in the Clouds Oct 9, 2025
before i start this, are the leads enemies? Hiding her identity while plotting against him or does she hide it but is acting sincere towards him? it seems the ml is already warming up to her and when it happens this early that means the angst later on is gonna be big. I hope the identity reveal does not involve her going against him out of a misunderstanding of him having the antitode goes then he'll be all (you've never been real with me and wanting to kill me) kinda hard to get back together from a betrayal like that

she found out about 3 months evaluation period from Mrs Barakin Everything SMH does for her is a love declaration…
the issue is their love language is not the same. He shows it with actions and gift giving and she wants words of affirmation and actions. She already can tell that he's apologetic and likes her but she can't be sure without him being honest. it only comes across to her as him realising her worth and is a great ally to have back but not that he wants her back cz he loves her, just that it would benefit both. So her responses towards his actions as shown at the after party in ep 26 is being professional and thanking him for his assist but anything more would appear like she wants him back but HE HASN"T SAID ANYTHING and says he'll leave if she plays darts with her coworkers? He's just proving his emotional immaturity even more. He needs to take note of the 2nd lead's actions (he's annoying but at least he's been telling her his feelings and intent from the very beginning which she needs right now to rebuild trust) their love language does not need to be the same throughout their relationship but for the switch to happen and move forward, they both need to be on the same wavelength or nothing will come across. COMMUNICATION IS ESSENTIAL RIGHT NOW.

I am so so sad that this is getting hate because of some non-sense. First of all - I’m muslim, i read a few…
ok the dislike presented by muslims here is not on the fact that they used islamic/arabic stories but at the abhorrent twist to the story. Promoting arabic/islamic content is a an amazing feat only if it's informative or to allow society to know our culture without misinformation. But twisting it by making it a modern day fantasy is not something we can be proud of or happy about. the origin story might've been used to adapt a fictional one from but there is a reason Aladdin didn't use it the same way. Genie in a bottle is a Djin (highly taboo topic for us though not as much as using Iblis-the literal devil) which is why it didn't have backlash. This however was depicting a real life sacred story and twisting it for entertainment (lucifer was based on the biblical side more especially cz biblical names were used and not arabic AND IT WAS STILL RECIEVED NEGATIVELY BY MUSLIMS- they dared to have a human acting as GOD so yh the blasphemy was off the charts). It's already a story worth portraying as it is, why twist it? OR USE REAL INDIVISUALS? they could've made the ML a Djinn (a highly powerful one or whatever) and nameless angels or any other way and the story wouldn't have gotten a backlash. Just names are important and depicting a misunderstood DEVIL with a cute love story is highly satanic and WRONG PEOPLE WRONG. I'm all for the underdog who survives and wins the day, the devil is the last being to be used for that motto

honestly their problem is just their start. the chemistry, the likemindedness, the seeking love and attention; they're so in sync that a relationship is the best fit for them. today's kiss was proof; it was hunger for one another and so real. he just does not know how to court her cz it was always the other way around for him and she is just can't read his actions as love whenever he lets his mask slip cz he still has that mask! ugh honestly she clearly still loves him and once he just drops his smugness and be real, she's melt and take him back right away.

Him painting the dragon head green, fang lei's voice in paternity test etc
i really hope they don't go that route cz it doesn't add meaning to any arc. if it's for the leads' relationship, when the FL returns to the ML , she would love the boy as a mother (she already does) and if it's for the ML to develop hateful feelings for the aunt then he already kinda does so there really is no point to making the kid not blood-related cz the trauma of finding out ur brother is actually ur dad is enough, let alone finding out that u're not related to anyone (even if they end up adopting him) will just make him second guess his worth on a large scale (especially cz his blood related aunt would be the cause of all the pain). he'll never be the same no matter what and THERE WOULD BE NO REASON FOR SUCH A PLOT MORE SINCE IT ADDS NO DEPTH TO ANY CHARACTER BUT PAIN FOR THE KID (who's not even the lead so an origin story is not needed thank you very much)
