ok tropes are tropes for a reason. They still elicit the reactions wanted by the scriptwriters. The only risk is that if the actors/actresses don't act it out properly, then it comes off as bland. The casting here is perfect, even the villains (did not want to slap someone in so long). What i liked about the childhood trope is that here it's more of a gateway to becoming kind and then falling in love which is more realistic than just liking her for being that person and he portrayed it so well.

same i hope it doesn't come off as a whatpad edit by the end like the others. They need to decrease the childishness that comes off in their adult era. As high schoolers/college students makes sense but as working adults no. So far they both seem mature in the future snippet

that's true but what she doesn't realize is that his dislike is those ppl's greed so if she tells him she is poisoned he wouldn't blame her cz he already knows she loves him so she needs GMD to live and not to betray him. Her stubbornness is what caused the eventual fallout. I don't think it's staged like the others are saying cz 27 dying was not a public event so what's the objective?But since he is her divine beast, i think her connection to him can resurrect him or something in that sense

is the ML the baby his master was holding in her flashbacks before death? I get the feeling he's the bo clan head's child who is the best friend of the master and she saved him before the clan's death or is his mother, but is basically the clan's descendant out for revenge OR here me out, the the FL is the baby cz no mother acts that way towards her child so most probably the ML's master saved her to the other side of enemy lines so that the clan's exterminator can not find her and the mother took her in cz she couldn't give birth at the time or something. Her body might be the key to the antidote working for both her and the ML which might explain why it's taking so long for the ML to heal. The antidote might only be activated by the genes/blood of those of the Bo clan

If 27 dies to prolong the lead’s life with no chance of being resurrected then I don’t know how the leads can come back from this. FL will blame him for not giving the antidote without knowing he himself needed it so her betrayal with no explanation as to why she needed it (as a cure and not just to possess the item like the rest) is why the ML didn’t help. Even if he knew then it would’ve been too late cz it needs refinement and not a pill which she would’ve know if she didn’t wait to the last second to get the antidote! Fear of losing him led to losing her life and now 27. I hope 27 can return since he gave his soul and everything to her so she can find a away to get him back using it

Actually this makes sense cz it’s the most similar to the novel but I hope we don’t go from one terminal patient to the other, that’s just pointless. Maybe getting injured while refining is ok but dying instead is just a sad ending that no one wants.

can someone guess from the previews which episode he'll find out she's MX, zero information hidden anymore. They're already in love and there's alot of fear of the each other not accepting the full identity of the other and the anxiety of that moment appearing is killing me so i need to know whuch date that'll be

Dude that’s a roundabout way of saying he is their ancestor. Ergo she the FL is lady when who marries him so she’s the ancestor and so the messy cycle. The only way for them to get out this mess is if she entered her script and is inserted as the wife of her ancestor and she wakes up with memories of that trip and not actual time travel cz then she wouldn’t have actually married her ancestor

but they showed us the grandfather saying all this about their ancestor so technically it's still him (isn't that why he even lets them stay?)

one thing i can't understand is the friend's betrayal. He's not a bad person so the fact that he knew the ML the most and practically everything about him should've helped him NOT betray his best friend. Sure he wouldn't actively help the ML but at least question the hate towards him or secretly help stop the betrayal. It's just makes no sense that not one person outside his subordinates understands the ML. The FL was with him for days and switched sides right away while ppl with him for years can't see anything worth second-guessing?

Question is how does it even work when it’s not her name? (She asks “what if I’m not Ming yi” and the string still appears at the end between them so how? ) also, based on the trailer he already found out her identity later 👀 so fast. Can’t wait to see how the relationship is gonna be from now on.

I don't think scriptwriters have a good view on emperors at all. I can count the amount of kind or even sane emperors in c-dramas on one hand, it's just sad. Not everyone with power falls to corruption. And not all siblings need to fight for power! there is never a ruler who has ONE CHILD and if they do, their ministers ask them to produce more so there has to be a normal ruling family for once. if they fought for power or kept having doubts of betrayal, no kingdom will survive a day. Ugh so annoying

I don’t know how I feel about the ML falling for the FL, he showed his dark and good side so although some stuff about him are hidden she ends up falling for a 90% version of himself while she’s not one bit herself with him (her flirty persona is not her nor her gentle damsel in distress not anything (maybe 10%)) so technically who is he looking for when the identity reveal happens? The girl he loved is a complete fabrication other than her outer appearance so the attraction is real atleast. Also I rewatched the trailer, “in your eyes, how foolish am I” nope sorry ML novel might’ve been an ass and needed to chase her but drama FL needs to throw a big gesture proclaiming her love cz this guy deserves it. I’m all for a strong independent woman but there is no such thing as a winner in love so she needs to melt her armor cz she’s lived too long as a man, she forgot how to express her feelings.

maybe in the novel it could've gone that way but no matter what china's regulations won't allow an ending NOT in modern era especially time-travel is a big NO so to allow something similar it would have to be that they went inside a script that has them going back in time and then getting out only to find out it was a fever dream. since she was the one going through the door following the ML (i think they'll be the only ones remembering cz SHE was the one to go through a script of them all going to the past so they're characters in her dream- also why they were more into staying in the past) and why she is the only one vanishing away in the intro song and not the whole family

hmm this is a point as well, they could just pin this on the script and her fainting or something and imagining it all since she was the one to follow the backdoor and suddenly her family is there? they appeared like magic. also the scene of her vanishing to thin air is just her and not with the family so it might be all a dream which would be more approved with china's regulations than time travel and being her own ancestor all along

that's what i thought as well at first but no way will china approve a messy situation like that so either he adopted someone who completed the bloodline after her return/death or the ancestor was never him and it's his servant/companion who fabricated the story down the line so this course of action can happen. we see the ML knowing their story in teasers so maybe their history isn't correct
