this drama perfectly portrays how small favors or help can be twisted over time. it may not be intentional; in the husband's case it was the aid in his carreer that caused anxiety of whether he was good enough which is honestly realistic with many men and not cz they're bad ppl. the bad thing was not addressing that feeling from the start and turning it into cheating on his partner to feel worthy in another relationship and so the rest of his actions went downhill from there. In the ML's case, it was the fact that he feels like a burden and has internal trauma as well so the help is only making him more emotionally in debt and muddying his crush-like feelings so it'll show up badly in the relationship especially for her cz as a sponsor it's normal to help out this way but as a girlfriend it'll be "what if i'm grooming him and are these actual feelings or making a mistake and he won't feel worthy of me like my husband did". Lastly, the doctor not taking a hint cz she allows small acts of kindness that he's giving (why wouldn't she, she's single and emotionally available) which is the only way for a man to know if a woman is interested. so a clean confession and rejection is needed. Honestly i believe the separation with the ML was required (maybe wrong things were said but time off was needed) so that they can both reassess their feelings without one another and how other relationships feel like to them to truly know if this is love or just a major red flag (grooming)

Asian thinking here and i believe the mother needs a reality check maybe not jailed but the amount of shamelessness that she has in the name of grief is not ok. especially cz of the future stuff she does as well. she's just digging a hole for herself at this point and I KNOW the ml won't be able to cut ties nor will the fl get a proper apology for the manipulation she was put through (she manipulated the fl's friend as well to make sure the leads stay apart) cz the mother will end up being sick (honestly this is a cop out by the authors cz they know it's the only way wrap things up peacefully otherwise it'll be a battle and that's just not good for views and disrespectful)

ah yh it was to fake her death but still does so behind his son's back again. i swear communication is an issue regardless of the genre

not young and used to these plots so i was hoping for a twist and the king to not be as he was portrayed cz then there is no excuse to how far the villain took this. how can he rise to power so much and why would the crown prince be able to overthrow him when the king felt powerless? i especially hated that the king was egging the ml on to fight back as if it could actually happen only to let him go (he could've told him from the start so he can plan his revenge while working around that fact and not crush it all when they got the win)

The drama is winning me in a lot of things, but losing me at the same time. 1- i don't like the back and forth for the present and past events (we alredy know what happened so the flashbacks aren't as shocking, it would've been better giving the story in one go so the order of events isn't lost) 2- WHY IS EVERYONE SO CHILL (there's no need for a big drama but the reveal to the 2fl? that was just tame. No reaction to the mother's actions? We don't know the woman, and our blood's boiling. How are ppl acting like it was a normal thing to do? The FL even said the uncle was a rapist, like it was normal news, and the 2fl replied in an "i see" moment. OK, i get the fire in all of them is squashed over time, but the resolution to everything made all their struggle seem pointless. the fl's depression, frantic search for her father, her sadness and loneliness, and it all ends with a " hi let me explain what happened but let me tell u I'm all zen now and had closure" ? If u're healed, what about ur daughter? Her reply was just hearing him out and acting as if nothing happened. AND NOW THE ML'S CONVO WITH HIS FAMILY at dinner this episode was how to be shameless 101. Yes the past will have an effect, but they're acting like the victim's family and not the guilty party. Not only was the uncle a rapist, but the mother was a thief who didn't give a shit if the fl was gonna die while birthing "just save the baby." i expected them to act all entitled cz vile beings are gonna be vile but the ml? "are you gonna visit ur brother's grave this anniversary?" is it so hard to say "no i won't visit a rapist's grave as a courtesy for all the shit my family did to my wife and own up to that guilt for the rest of my life instead of marrying someone else like that will erase the past". UGH I NEED EMOTIONS ON SCREEN and soon cz frankly the mother is the only one doing that job.

I swear the left state councilor is not the mastermind! first evidence should've been him convincing the ml to not kill himself and get stronger for revenge, why? second was the fact that the king is acting way too weak and as if he's being controlled by the villain when he's a king! asking his son to fight for him, hello u have that power too! also the left state has a revenge in mind meaning the king had power before to kill so what's stopping him from acting like victim infront of his son now? last evidence, the fl just agrees to kill herself as ordered by the king? why not fight for her innocence? why was the king in shock to see her again and ready to kill her without waiting for his son? i think princess knew something in regards to the king's hand in the ml's mother's death and opted for death so he doesn't find out his dad had a hand in a chain of tragedy. that's why the king wants her dead now too. the left state is gonna turn out to be the hidden ally at the end and not the villain (though with blood on his hands but not the mastermind)

i knew it that so called best friend was the final nail in the coffin in the past. she helped the mother in law in covering her tracks in the past out of jealousy and is now drinking and wallowing in guilt cz she could see her friend's suffering now. trying to justify herself by asking "don't u think it was better for him to stay with his dad's side". it wasn't enough that she told the ml about the pregnancy when the fl clearly told her not to but she stood by as the mother took her child away. the reveal is gonna be heartbreaking and lots of crying but i really hope the fl can drop her right after; no amount of guilt should absolve her. Considering how slow-paced the drama currently is, the reveals are gonna happen one after the other like a thread unraveling

wow you can clearly see why the misunderstandings keep increasing and widening in the worst way. they think being passive-aggressive or tiptoeing around is a sign of maturity rather than confronting head on and getting it all out in the open. the 2ml thinks he's insulting the ml by saying "you made all the right choices in career and life" as a dig for stealing her child while the lead is thinking he meant "ur loss is my gain cz now i get the girl" they keep reading behind the lines while being WAY OFF. just one direct insult or honesty will fix this mess they created but everyone is scared of losing this fragile peace built on lies. even the 2nd fl is tense around the leads cz she could clearly see the connection but doesn't want to poke the bear cz she knows it'll end this peaceful relationship going on (even if no love but it's stable and not too bad yet). from the trailers it's obvious it all falls apart the moment the fl tells the 2fl about her child being stolen (she found out she abandoned them too and confronts her about it-finally!) and the moment the ml is told the truth and he ends up confronting his mother but WHY SO LATE. it's 13 eps in and NOTHING YET. if it's still this way by 18, i'll drop it cz then the revenge and actual second chance romance will be rushed and kinda wrong (i already feel sorry for the 2fl cz she's falling and she might be better off with sml but not enough time to form a relationship so it'd be weird too)

hmm the vibe between the leads was more romantic in season 2 so we were hoping for a bit of development here (not the focus but bits and pieces of moments) but the vibe is more familial and sibling energy which is disappointing considering the previous flirting fit them more. either stick to the romantic route or friendship but the switch up makes it look wishy washy, otherwise everything else is great!

he's been helping her fight against the executive's husband (he's the assaulter) and the exec knows it too so she let the rumours spread that it was him cheating to cover her husband's tracks. now the victim couldn't take it the pushback so she's apologising for involving him. he's trying to take the heat so his wife doesn't get fired as well so he's letting himself be misunderstood (also why he didn't want her trying for his spot back cz of the backlash of his whistleblowing) . he obviously still loves his wife, i hope he doesn't let the misunderstanding fester for long so she can help him

pride is humanity's worst sin. she can't even confront feng rui cz the idea that he wasn't in on it with her mother is not worth entertaining. Again, she asks the mother whether feng rui knew, and again she misunderstood. the same with the ml, he only takes info from his mother and doesn't dare to ask the fl or even insult her to her face cz his pride is wounded and believes his mother fully (although she never hid her manipulative/controlling personality, so never being doubtful is on him). normally someone abandons you, u'd insult them or speak harshly and not this weird indifferent vibe that causes misunderstandings on both sides. just say the words so she can say "what the hell are you talking about" so u can communicate!! ugh i hate how it has to be her who says "liar" for him to start questioning things- so freaking vague and too late! 12 years? does it make sense for someone so infatuated and clearly not over it to only start uncovering the truth now? for the fl to say he never called it means she didnt change her number and considering this is the 21st century, there is no way he never found her for so long (the mother is not all powerful to control all that). her friend totally had a hand in this (most probably thinking he'll just hurt her when she needs time to heal her kid's death) she looked like she was hiding something-especially when she said the kid might've been better off with the ml's family (it was to alleviate her guilt and not the fl).

in the trailer it seems the friend also plays a part in hurting her in the future whether it was for her brother or herself cz the mother approaches her and blackmails her or something (there was lots of crying) (she might've even played a part in keeping the leads apart whether on purpose or unknowingly manipulated by the mother) honestly she seems to be not a bad person just not the best for the fl so i hope she slowly cuts ties with her (it'll be hard to completely let go cz the friend's family kinda raised her)

no it's not justification but an explanation to her actions cz to us we see it as a red flag but to her she is just realistically in her own world which the 2ml can clearly see so to expect any meaning behind her actions when she clearly stated he is a younger brother to her is just him living in his own delusions. if he wants her to notice him then he needs to confess otherwise she'll continue to treat him as a brother. she's not psychic. whether it's a man or woman, if words are not said, then it becomes a guessing game as to what each person's actions mean; she's currently playing that game with her ex so the 2ml is not on her radar till he puts himself on the playing feild but honestly even then he has zero chances and the blame can't be put on her cz she's not obligated to accept him

it's true what you said but with this lead it's a bit different for her cz in her mind it's just ml, her dad, the trauma of losing her child, her career and so much that it's almost impossible for her to notice the feelings projected by someone like a younger brother figure. call it selfish but she's too preoccupied and wouldn't even cross her mind cz why would he like her? she came back for someone else who fathered her child and has a past with so the idea that she is a romantic option for someone else let alone a guy who should view her as a sister would never cross her mind. so she's not using his feelings, she's just treating him like a brother (there are kind brothers who do what he does so it's not sus enough for her to realize unless he confesses), not her fault he goes above and beyond for her cz he has feelings and not cz he's a good brother. she's not that emotionally perceptive at the moment (easier for us and his family to notice his feelings as third parties but as the person receiving those feelings, it's not)

T.H.E.R.A.P.Y; playing with ppl's emotions and pretending that it was all ok and just mental games and guess the underlying thought behind the action is the shittiest messiest situationship on earth. he just need to say "i like you" to her face for her to realize she can't hide her feelings anymore? is she for real? so dating someone else is ok? and that guy was super ok with being used and then asks for a double date? "i understand why she was dating you" u call that dating? and "thank you for breaking up with her at a good time" ? what the hell? even teenager would consider this read flag; are they elementary school kids? i'm giving her to u for a bit and next is my turn? no. whatpad stories don't dare to do this and a kdrama did? B.Y.E

i have a feeling there is more to her dislike of the FL, the trailer mentioned a rapist in the ml's family and a dark connection so it might not be the full story given yet. cz i still can't believe both the leads trusted the mother's word and didn't look for one another afterwards. like who just leaves cz their child died and not inform the father? it was a relationship and not a one night stand so why leave. something else must be there and the ml not contacting her once when even 12 years later he still has feelings? was he never curious about why she left? she never showed signs of flaking or disliking the child.

hmm the trailer showed him confronting his mother and getting slapped. also he was the one who suggested to get back together so i guess it must've been after confronting his mother and finding out the truth. the other trailer shows him being a simp and madly in love with the fl so i guess it worked out but almost zero scenes with the child as a family which is weird cz if they make their romance too much of a priority and not address the child's trauma as an abandoned child later on (even if it was a lie) it'll just be an unrealistic drama so i hope the trailer just missed that.

this drama has more dialogue than action and the action is kinda subpar for a chinese drama; the good guys feel too weak, especially their ace (mad blade) (expect the fight scene between her and the ml). I truly hope the hunters up their game cz this is kinda sad. Also the 2ml creeps me out more than the villain and that says alot. anyone else feeling uneasy whenever the fl's housekeeper appears or smiles?
