Good, I hope you will enjoy it. It' the dark horse show of 2022. Like MLC, iQiyi also did no promotion for the show as it has no traffic star and also not focused on romance. At least MLC has Cheng Yi to draw people to watch.

Aww, that's a big loss for dramas but I think he will get more exposure in movies so more international audience will know him. Although I am not sure how the Chinese movies work with international market.

I agree. I really love Mysterious Lotus Casebook, besides what you mentioned, it also has good lessons about life. And no-one could forget Jiau Li Qiau after watching it.

I think A Journey to Love also has this kind of pull to keep me watching. Usually if I get bored, I instantly dropped the drama.

I think the setting of the story is traditional wuxia but the story is more about falling from the top and living with failure and learning from it plus letting go. Plus allowing new friendships and relationships. I think that's the main appeal of the show. At least for me and some others.

Yes, MLC is very different. I think depending on what you like for wuxia and other genres. I personally like "Handsome Siblings" in Netflix as it's wuxia with a lot of humor but a lot of people don't like it.

As others said, it's not a traditional wuxia story, this story is unique and different from other wuxias which is the reason I love it.

If you want "traditional" wuxias, I think most stories by Jin Yong ("Legend of Condor Heroes" either 1983 or 2017 version, "Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre" starring Joseph Zheng, or "Side Stories of Flying Fox") are considered classic. There are of course other wuxia stories, I think the recently very popular "Blood of Youth" has modern style of wuxia which more like superheroes with the power shown through CGI.
