Yes but Xi Wei made himself trustworthy by showing his intelligence consistently. I mean look at the way 2nd life XN started acting more at ease around him knowing quite well what he is capable of. This guy got game and knows how to appeal to people especially the emperor. Plus in the emperor eyes he is not part of the different factions fighting each other. On paper he is the right guy.

Cause they did not introduced ZZ in 2nd life quick enough but we still got 18 episodes so patience.

An Ancient Love Song is not considered big standard drama though. It leans more on the short web drama spectrum. And so far short cheap shows have escaped censorship. Because it was such a surprise hit and critically acclaimed people place it in the big standard dramas basket.
